I will have 2 agree w/ this. I say stop letting illegal's have babies born as US citizen's too! Send their azz home! Stop paying 4 the birth and deport both of them. PERIOD...No Exception's.

If you took the time to have read my posts you would have seen that I stated the issues. We had this discussion in the past where you had made charges without knowing the issue for you failed to read.

illegal aliens are very expensive to our nation.
1. They drain funding away from other students.
How: There parents are not paying taxes which would add to the funding.
There presence alone is a cost never mind bilingual education which is very
expensive.
2. They are draining away from Social Security.
How: If an illegal has a baby here the baby is an american citizen and the mother has
the right to stay. The mother then sponsers her parents to come who come to
retire.
Also there are numerous reports of illegals getting SS benefits anyway.
3. They are draining away college aid to American born citizens.
Only in America can an illegal person go to college for free.

Never mind my postings on how if the father is working a low paying job he is living in free housing, we pay for, with his family that is getting welfare, we pay for, and food stamps plus his kids are getting a free breakfast and free lunch in school, that we pay for. I could go on but I did already in my other posts in this thread.

 

I agree with you that overpopulation is a major problem that the world is facing today and I agree with you about big business.
However with the crime issue, when I lived in New York we had a saying in Harlem. What is the difference between a Brownstone in Sugar Hill and a tentament on Malcom X Blvd. The people who are living there. Same type of building, two streets close to each other, people from the same ethnic group, but worlds apart based upon the class and attitude of the people living in those homes

 

Normally I would agree with you except that Arnold ran for Governor as a stated reformer of the system. If the powers that be will not let him make his promised reforms that he was elected on then he should bring those issues to the people to see if that is what they really want.

The people voted and it was not what Arnold had hoped for and that is the end of that. The vote has to be respected for this is a democracy.

Now was Arnold elected for his platform or because he was a movie star?
Sad when you think about it, since some of his platform issues were not supported in the special election.

 

I think this thread can all boil down to perspective. These people sneak into the US for obvious reasons - they want a better life for themselves and their family that they cannot obtain in Mexico. That's something, on a per capita level, that you cannot fault them for... Some of us might even make the same choices in their shoes.

So what we really need to do, since this is our problem, is to apply economic pressures on Mexico to increase their standard of living.

To whoever suggested deporting children born here by illegal alien parents, I say: you better get in line behind them, because I'm sure if you trace your family back, you have a very good chance that one or more people in your family tree got into this country under illegal means at some point. So have fun in whatever country your rules end you up in.

There is rummor that it will be the District of Columbia that will eventually become the 51st. state. It's quarter would have a congress man with his hand in somebody elses pocket.

 

I'll be honest - I liked the National Collector's Mint's idea for the 51st State Quarter from Washington, DC. I'll post a pic of the reverse design sometime tonight, but if you haven't seen it, it's a great design.

 

This is the only logical conclusion that one can reach from the available evidence. Most of the voters that elected Schwartzenegger apparently did so on the basis of his movie fame and personality. There is simply an overwhelmingly large number of emotional and ignorant California voters. California has very serious economic and social problems, and its citizens are unequiped to deal with them.

 

Fame has always gone a long way in politics. From local levels with Jesse "the body" ventura to the highest national level with Reagan.

Politicians are almost never elected for their 'platforms' anyway. It all generally boils down to who sold themselves the best - so it only stands to reason that the person who has already been sold to the public at the box office, already has one foot in office. Which is probably for the best anyway, since their platform positions are only whatever their paid staff told them to say for the most part.

If politicians were elected for their positions on issues, then there would never been a problem with campaign contributions and finances - because everything would be determined in the media interviews and debates.

I agree with alot of what you have stated with the exception that Ronald Reagan had a clear political platform and was a statesman. He had clear objectives, he communicated those objectives and when he finally did become the President he stayed fast to his beliefs. Ronald was attacked by the leftwing press during his terms but he actually got along with the Democrat leadership on many key issues which was why his Presidential terms were so successful. The cold war is over, Ronnie along with the Pope, Thacher, and the people of eastern europe did it. Also our economy recovery should not be forgotton after Jimmy Carter almost destoryed it.

As for Ronald the actor.
He was never that popular and made mainly B movies.
It was a long long time between Ronald the actor and Ronald the President with being a Governor inbetween.
