So I guess we should just open the borders and let anyone walk right in.

Well let’s see how it works the other way around:
If you are an American, it will require all of these. If you are of another nationality it will also require a Visa.
    a) By ship, flight, or land (either by car or walking) you have to have a Passport. If not you must show your original birth certificate with a picture I.D. such as a driver’s license.
    b) If you intend to go deeper into Mexico (over 20 miles from border), or take longer than 72 hrs., you must apply and be issued a “Tourist card”.
    c) You will be required to purchase Mexican insurance for your vehicle before being allowed to enter.
    d) Then you must fill out the “Custom Declaration” form and play musical chairs with a green and red light. If you get the green light, you go right on through. If you get the red light, they tear hell out of everything to see what you are entering the country with. As if anyone would be entering Mexico with drugs, or bombs, I guess.
    e) Then if you drink the water, and end up with the old “two-step” and need to go to the hospital for medical assistance, they check to make sure you either have the cash on hand or the insurance to pay for the treatment.

And all this just because you wanted to visit a foreign country and spend some money down there. I wonder if it’s worth it? Naaaa! Should have swam the river and acted as if I couldn't understand what anyone was saying.

You would be absolutely right - if it had happened.

Yeah I realized this was a troll a bit too late. No point in discussing it. Good show on the ban.

There are many people spouting off on immigration as if it were a simple issue. This nation was built on immigration more illegal than legal. The Irish, Jews, and Italians were totally despised when they came, and I think that long term we were better off with them here (or should I say US here!). Without illegal immigration millions of Irish would have died of starvation. The type of person who will put their butt on the line to achieve a better life for themselves and their family are the type of people we want.
Lets be honest, these people pouring across the border are family oriented hard working people. I see white Americans by the side of the road with signs saying "will work for food" but when you offer them a job they say their leg hurts, on the other hand if I go out in front of Home Depot and find a Mexican guy he will put in an honest days work for fair pay. These are NOT welfare hounds. The problem arises with the national security thing, none of us wants a bomb walking across that border.

Willing to put in a hard day's work for less than I'd ever do it for. You're right, and there's many jobs they do that no one else is willing to do, for less than what those no one's would be willing to do them for. The economy needs them, but I just wish it could be done in a more legal, documented way.

Actually, HoneyMarie is not a she, he's someone who's attacked this site on numerous occasions. And, yes, the "opinions" which included graphic descriptions of homosexual acts, are not welcome on this site. You didn't see those because the moderation on this site is very good.

In my part of Florida we have a heavy Mexican population as well as Cuban American. The Mexicans who come here full time are hard working people who desire what is best for their kids for the most part. One could see them bringing their children to the boyscouts, library programs, sports programs, etc. Their cars fly both the Mexican flag and the American flag. When I ask any father in causal sideline conversation what made them choose Florida over California ,which is closer point of entry, everyone of them responded that they would never raise their family there for those Mexicans are criminals. I realize that this was a generalization but we also have to remember when speaking of the Mexicans we are not speaking of one people.
You have Aztec desendents, Mayans, mountain people and city people etc, who seem to have different set of values as well as spanish. It seems the different parts of Mexico still has the local native Indian language mixed in within it. By the way the illegals here live pretty good much better then I did as a legal American growing up to adulthood.

Any child born in the United States becomes a American Citizen. People cross the border, fly in, just to give birth. Once that happens the mother stays legally and then she could sponser her entire extended family.

My wife spend five years studying for a test and going thru paper work procedures. I met her in Manhattan where she was going to college for free.
