Unfreakinbelivable !!!!!!!! http://www.rollcall.com/news/42457-1.html BO to hit Nevada for Harry !!!! Is this what that reads ? This sounds like a comedy that Hollywood could not even write.
Just take a look at who he surronds himself with: Rev Wright, bill ayers, van jones, anita dunn, tim geithner, rahn emmanuel, cass susten, eric holder, kevin jennings. So of his favorite teachings: Karl marx, saul alinsky, clowart and pivens. Lets have a discussion on these characters. How bout it lefties?
TomC I admire your honesty. You just pointed out to all of us where you come from. You are against a party and for no principles, but you are unabashed and unashamed of it. Kudos. I myself would rather be against ideas and issues, and for principles and ideas and issues. Kinda wierd, but thats just me. Even some of our harder far leftys, Clembo and Danr, are both for their ideas, regardless of party. They have swayed me on points and I have swayed them on points. Thats because we all stand for SOMETHING, and not AGAINST anything because of who does it. As for Diebold...I'll listen. On the 9-11 thing, you presented undeniable ( and confirmable ) sceintific evidence. So far you have just posted words. Like I said, I'll do my own research. Point me in a direction that helps get me started, and no op-ed stuff.
What has happened is the Democrat Party has been hijacked. The koolaide drinkers have kept saying how the death of the Repos was imminent. What did we learn from Tuesday? The conservatives and moderates ( most Indys, most Dems and most Repos ) have united while the Progressive Marxists have infilterated both partys, they have severly damaged the Dem much more. United as Americans we will win. I dont care what party you are. If you stand for America as it was designed, you are welcome in my home.
I might add 1 thing Jack. On the day BO was elected there was a huge turnout by folks who had most likely never voted before & likely won't in the future. We are paying the price for these events and obviously the good people of New Jersey (by voting out a lib governor) & the people of MA are the first to have a voice. Now, if the conservatives can get the GOP lined out we can get back to conducting the country's business for everyone.
Did you see the breakdown on how the voters identified themselves from Massachusetts: Tea Party movement: 33% Undecided: 30% Republican: 12% Democrat: 25% (rasmussen) Polling showed that voters starting turning away from Coakley when terriorist were given constitution rights instead of being tried as enemy combatants. The gap widened further after the handling, or lack of, the diaper bomber on Christmas.
Please tell me you do Not mean this instead of being tried as enemy combatants Do you actualy have any concept at all what that statement means?? you can not give Terrorists the respectability of a Soldier, They are Criminal murderers nothing more. They are not Enemy Combatants, the only ones in Afghanistan who could claim that would be members of the Taliban as they were the goverment of the country prior to the invasion. Believe me if you give them the status of Enemy Combatants you can not waterboard them, all they are required to do is give there names rank and serial number.
Volumes spoken here folks. Anyone that has been here for a while knows it. AJ and I do not always agree. Doubt we ever will but there is respect and friendship built in. Now this is interesting Jack. Yes, it was an historic day I believe and perhaps in the long run could be a good day. Too early to tell. Things aren't going "swimmingly" now and haven't been for some time. The death of the Repos has been discussed in the past hasn't it? I, for one, stated I'd hate to see that. As a country we need at least two parties (and IMHO) more than two parties if we're ever to become what we once were. In the same token the Dems have not shown the balls they need to. Seriously. All Koolaide references aside, as Koolaide is consumed by both parties, how can this help the nation as a whole? The Dems aren't showing any balls and the Repos aren't showing me anything. If the Repos are to capitalize they need to put some real people out there. I've mentioned too many times how I've voted for different parties only to be let down in one way or another. As it stands now we are in a lose/lose situation. The Dems aren't doing it, the Repos rely on "no" and "fear" yet give no real solutions. IF this scenario stands the bottom line is nothing more than silly squabling while the powers that be (no matter which party) fuel stupidity with little interest to our country's needs and pressing issues. Meanwhile they're doing fine. Now, does this make me a "liberal, far leftist" or a guy that might actually see something? What happens now is surely important but what happens in the long run is equally, if not more, important. At the rate we are going as a nation (and have been) one may as well give up on any change, any hope, any voice. If that happens what has happened in the last several years will look like a cakewalk.
Clembo, you are correct. There are koolaide drinkers on both sides. BUT, I have seen you stand for ideals and your principles, you are not one of them. You dont oppose just because of who proposes.........you oppose because of your fundamental beliefs, that can be respected. I would welcome you and Deb into my home in a minute with a smile and I am sure we could party all night as friends. Thats because we are Americans with different opinions, but still Americans. Opinions be damned, lets have a beer and a burger. Same wth DanR. The guy is a lefty but he stands for something. I am a righty, but I stand for something. Danr and I get along great, we are buds and we are total opposites. If all you do is oppose for the sake of opposing, then you kind of relegate yourself to a not important group who needs an anger coach. Join the party, stand for something and speak your peace. Thats what great about living here in the best country in the world.
Your right DeOc I did not mean that. I got caught up in my typing. I meant to say they should be be tried in a military tribunal and not as enemy combatants. Thanks for letting me correct myself. So waterboard away!
Both parties are bad Jack. I just learned over the years that instead of weighing everything and voting on principles, and taking turns watching each party bend us all over and then do nothing, and lie about it, I found that the republican party more consistently lined up against what I personally thought was correct. I finally figured that it is much easier to just vote against the right, since I could count on them to be exactly what I thought they were, year after year, and I could always count on them to be on the wrong side of the issues that matter to me. They continue to go above and beyond the call to date, so why waste analysis on a particular scenario when all I have to do is see where the right lines up it's support, and then have only the choice between their party and one other one? No brainer IMHO. For example, take the right's support for the supreme court decision today to allow corporations to spend unlimited amounts of cash to influence their agenda. Boehner today voiced his support for the decision. No checks on corporations buying their agenda. There ya go. I rest my case. I don't need to weigh the issues, because the right will always be FOR the wrong ones. Like clockwork. Just step back, watch what the right supports, and if there is still doubt, just verify the republican stance by turning on Fox news, Rush or the like. That leaves me more time to dig and analyze other events of a "not so clear" nature and post the information for fine folks such as yourself to go over that might not normally have the time to investigate them, or saving them some time by pointing them to a particular subject that they thought they already knew the answers to. Speaking of that, I'll follow up on Diebold as best I can shortly.
Jack..I hope you don't consider this link op-ed, but it gives a fairly good synopsis regarding Diebold. Blackboxvoting.org is an inarguable source of the many issues with Diebold if you find the link too biased or whatever. If you disagree with this and BBV, then nothing else I say will be of much consequence to you. Like I said, "Hacking Democracy" (it's on HBO's site and is available all over the internet) covers it conclusively, in addition. Hope you have the time because I'm sure you'll analyze it fairly. The link below has a sifficient amount of other links, depending how much you want to dig. Take it easy my misguided republican friend. http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0310/S00211.htm
How bout that Lehigh? I guess that negates a great many of your views on the subject...either that or Jack is wrong. One or the other. Can't be both. Curious though. If Jack can verify information, that means others can't or won't. So if you wonder why I form the conclusions I do about the general (willfull or otherwise) ignorance of the majority of folks...now you have some idea.
Now thems fighting words, lol. I am in no way a freaking Repo. I WAS, untill W started spending like a drunken sailor, offering amnesty and the security of our ports to Dubai.......I bolted to the Independant Party. Ya see? principles my friend My daughter is an officer in the Navy, sorry Alda ,lol The Party of John McCain, Lindsay Grahm and Michael Steele does not at all represent me.
Took me while to get my ducks in a row, but I founds some reading for you TC. You are our resident research expert, have at it. I even used left friendly links so the source could not be attacked http://articles.latimes.com/2009/nov/05/nation/na-health-gop5 http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2009/11/03/politics/main5510731.shtml http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/05/20/republican-health-care-pl_n_205728.html http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/p...lican-health-care-plans-8224780-58644807.html Rather than bury you with links, you can dig deeper for yourself. The fact is, they are just not being reported in the MSM. Roadblock? Remember when the Repos wanted to present a new option and Pelosi turned off the microphones and the lights in the House conferance room? I can link to that as well if you wish...... If you are not getting news, I would offer a suggestion. Expand your sources.... I'll get on your Diebold thing and start my research this weekend. My plate is full for now. Again, on 9-11, I tried in private and off these boards my diligent best to prove you wrong and a nutcase. It was impossible. I learned things that I fought hard not to believe, but the truth is the truth. Facts are facts. The sky is blue no matter how hard you try to see it green. When I am backed into a corner, I am honest enought to realize that and start to climb the wall.
Sorry my Liberal buddies but y'all can blame me for the big upset here in Mass. I just didn't thin she'd be a good senator. Dunno how pretty boy will turn out but I really dislike Coakley.
I never said that nobody would think you won the debate. I simply wanted you to post a poll. Obviously Jack would vote for you! I still contend that I would would win the debate if we polled the members of the forum.
C'mon Jack. Do you really think the right would have offered ANYTHING up had it not been due to the fact that the left was attempting to get something through? If you can answer that honestly (and I know you will), then that means it wouldn't have ever been addressed, had the right been in the driver's seat. It was under the spotlight so brightly...they had to offer something up. I guarantee it would have never even been on the radar with the right initially, OR EVER, without Obama and the left making so much noise about it...and basically the right attempted to address it like they do everything else..carve it up for between the profiteers and then spin the wheel. (similar to what they wanted to do with social security with numbnuts and the shotgun heading up the charge, and had that happened...everything would have disappeared into the "Wall Street Mirage and Casino").
