Abramoff Pleads Guilty

I must apologize here. I reread this post and I was wrong to characterize Evangelicals this way. I was guilty of the same wrong-headedness that I try to rail against.

 

Danr, look at the voting in Israel and you will see the majority of the jewish people there vote alike. Don't forget that there is a sizeable arab muslim vote in Israel who is the majority of the peace now movement along with some communist fools. Sure they want peace now, a piece of land here and a piece of land there until there is nothing left. The only time Israel does give up land is when the United States gives them no other choice. Israel can not survive without the United States for it already has around a billion muslims against its existance with trillions of dollars at its disposal and for the most part wants to kill off all the jews so there is one less regilion against Allah and no jews would also bring a death blow to Christian doctrine but you have to know your bible to understand that.

 

Exactly! Bingo! You got it! Midas, for example, seems to blame every single woe the Republicans have on the left or the Democrats. He doesn't seem to believe that the Republicans or the administration can do ANY wrong. My question was simply how is he going to blame the Democrats for this one. I just wanted to see how creative his logic could get with this latest scandal. That is all.

You may not have been as far off as you might think. Take a look at this:

Ralph Reed: Best known as the first executive director of the Christian Coalition during the early 1990s, Reed is now a Republican candidate for lieutenant governor of Georgia. In 1981 he worked as an intern for Abramoff, the newly elected chairman of the College Republicans National Committee. Abramoff promoted Reed in 1983, appointing him to succeed Grover Norquist as executive director of the organization. Reed left the Christian Coalition in 1997 and started a political consulting firm in Georgia.

E-mails released by federal investigators in June 2005 suggest that Reed secretly accepted payments (4 million) from Abramoff to lobby against Indian casino gambling and oppose an Alabama education lottery at the same time that Abramoff was being paid to promote Indian casino gambling. Additional e-mails released in November 2005 show that Reed also worked for another Abramoff client seeking to block a congressional ban on Internet gambling. Reed has said he did not know the funds came from pro-gambling sources. (so what difference does this make, it's still wrong):kewl:

 

Are you characterizing the Israeli Labor Party as "some commie fools"? You are way off base there they have some SERIOUS brain power. Further the more we religion-ize Israel the more danger it will be in. I believe that the Jews have a place in Israel but we need to try coexistance. Back to the original point you will find a large percentage of the US Jewish population are Dems (don't you see that in FL?).

 

Anyone who still supports either the democrats or republicans after all that has happened over the past couple of decades is either incredibly naive or just hasn't been paying attention. Both parties are bought and paid for, the best government money can buy.

Yeah, but what are you going to do? Sit on the fence. We are stuck with both until a viable third party shows up. If, after all this corruption and administration arrogance, we can't develop a third party, what makes you think it's ever going to happen?

We get the government we deserve just like the freedom we enjoy is only there as long as we demand it and fight for it. As long as we tolerate the two parties we have, we will be stuck with them and all of their short-comings. Unfortunate, but true.

Well the jewish americans that I know are all republicains or vote independent. They are for the most part conservative for they live a conservative lifestlye and have served their country one way or another. Most of the democrat jews that I have met seem to be an older generation who would vote democrat for Truman backed Israel or go back to the Kennedy days and do not see how that party has drifted for the muslim oil money.
As for the labor party they typically get around one million arab muslim votes as in the 1996 election, about 95 percent of Israel's Arab electorate voted for the then-Labor candidate Shimon Peres which is 20% of the vote so if you disregard the muslim vote the Likud party is the vast jewish israelie vote getter. The Christian arabs tend to vote for Lukid but don't ask them that in an exit poll or the muslims would blow either them up or their home.

It amazes me how you have such strong views without having the background information.

 

I agree that we will get the government we deserve as long as the democrats and republicans continue in power. I would recommend not waiting for a VIABLE third party, because it might not happen. Just vote for the best candidate not in the top two. Every vote cast that doesn't land in the democratic or republican column sends a message.

In all probability, there is no solution at this point. Things are too far gone. It's a darn shame.

 

Large urban areas are mostly Dem. Most of our Jewish pop live in large urban areas. Figure it out.

I figured it out, I now know your not a jew, using your own definition. Danr, your verbosity is exceeded only by your stupidity.

 

Again very unliberal thinking. If anyone disagrees with us they must not be educated. Well New York City has the largest jewish population in the United States and they have voted a Republican Mayor in for the last three elections. Why I even think that Republican Mayor Bloomberg is Jewish himself. So I would think that most of those Jewish voters are more independent then democrat to say the least.

That what Danr believes...he believes that the republican party brain-washed the entire south of stupid white people where they all converted to the republican party. You know how we did it...we went into their churches and told them how to vote.

Could it possibly be that "middle-America" is tired of hearing liberals preach about class warfare, burning black churches, throw grandma out on the street, and higher taxes?

Could it be that these stupid white southern people want border protection, a strong defense, and could care less about the rights of your local islamic terrorist?

Could it be that middle-America is tired of watching how liberals are behaving during the supreme court nomination process with Roberts and now, Alito?

Could it be that most Americans believe that the tax cuts should be made permanent (as the DOW just surpassed 11,000) along with the patriot bill? Could it be that many Americans like to have a choice in where to send their children to school?

It couldn't be any of those issues that are driving more people away from this party could it? It couldn't be the likes of Reid, Polosi, Schumer, Dean and Kennedy that are now running this new left could it?

No...it has to be stupid southern white people, right Danr??
