We were just discussing this. Whats up with Scotland? Mercy release? I sure wish the U.S. Govt. would approach me. I'd sure like to relieve him of his pain.

Now me I would have let him die in jail, he showed no remorse or compassion for those who died so I am of the opinion he desrves non himself

Well he should be anything but free.

A disgrace, yes I agree. But from what I gathered, nothing new. Apparently, Scottish authorities release ALL criminals when they're terminally ill.

This infuriates me, did the victims get to go home and say goodbye to their loved ones? Does this message send the terrorists the right message?

This is one of those times that politically correct, and humane dignity and respect, are over generous. It sickens me to think, the families that lost their loved ones on that plane are reliving the loss. They were led to believe that justice had prevailed, and now I bet most of them have lost faith in the justice system.

Sorry that this is watered down folks but I don't believe even this forum is ready to hear my true feelings of how this animal should be disposed of.

I have had to restrain my comments so I fully understand what you are saying Elmo  I honestly can not understand how they can disregard the victims in all this.

I'm really surprised at the lack of compassion here. I say let him go home.

Strap his murderous butt to the wing of a 747 and deliver him. If he survives the trip he's free to die at home.

Clembo that is putting it way to nice. If it were up to me he would die 1000 deaths before we let him off the hook. Then he could turn around and tell us if there were a god or he came back as a camel infested with 1000 fleas and no water around for 48 days.

Clembo this is as much compassion as I could muster, I had to search deep with in myself to find it.

And yet so many cheer Obama for his plan to close Gitmo & release even more terrorists?????

This guy would have been a good candidate for waterboarding!

Are you surprised? Are you surprised (or disgusted) on how his fellow muslims welcomed back this islamic terrorist as a 'HERO'!?!

    ************************

The Lockerbie PAN-AM 103 bomber landed in Libya to a hero's welcome as thousands greeted him at the airport waving flags and posters. Hours after leaving jail, Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi boarded a plane back to his homeland.

Al Megrahi, dressed in a suit and using a walking stick, arrives at an airport in Tripoli to a heroes welcome

He was greeted by a mob who had descended on Mitiga Airport brandishing placards and cheering.

Here's what this muslim animal looked like when he committed this terrorist attack:

Now look how this islamic terrorist is celebrated and treated...

What no comment about the Islamic Caliphate of Scotlands flags been flown!! Midas exactly how did you expect them to react? to them he is a bloody hero. Now David this one had nothing to do with President Obama nor Gitmo, this person had been convicted of this crime by a court of law without the use of torture and that is what makes the decision to release him so horendouse. You can coerce any one into a confession using torture.

If we have no compassion for the dying ....we are no better than the terrorists. We as civilized people should be above that. Flame me, I can take it.

It is the reception that bothers me more than the release. Just more proof what animals these people are.

Arizona I am not going to flame you, however it is not us that targeted him. He is the one responsible for these actions.I doubt it even crossed his mind as to the outcome, but feel comfortably sure based on what we do know that he was more than willing to die the moment he followed through with this terrorist act.

So it is not about remorse or him being rehabilitated wanting to be a asset to humanity. It is about I have a disease that is going to cut my life short.

That being said Jack how are you going to feel when you find out it was a misdiagnoses and he is going to live another 40 years? Or he has come to the United States to receive the medical treatment needed to extend his life another 40 years. Scotland released him because it was more cost effective to release him than it was to treat him, it was about their bottom line rather than justice being served.

Also I guess than you have no problem with murderers being released here if they are serving a life sentence, and are diagnosed with a life threatening disease.

I thought everything that happened in Great Britain directly effected the US & vice versa

Scr*w the confession, they should of beat information out of him, such as who was behind it & who his co-conspirators were

I'm not going to flame you either Jack. Even though I made a pretty strong statement about this particular scumbag I can actually see your point.

As many times as I have railed against waterboarding and any type of torture (not just here on PRWE) for the SAME reasons of it being nothing more than us just stooping to their level I read this brilliant comment.

The reception this murderous piece of garbage received is indeed appalling. The Scots let him go due to provisions of THEIR laws NOT ours. I don't agree but so be it.

I don't agree with AJ on this one either but he voiced his opinion with a reason behind it. Eerily in line with my reasoning for the U.S. NOT resorting to torture or anything near it.

Then you pop in with the "Spanish Inquisition" mentality David.
I said strap him to a wing of a 747 and send him back. This was AFTER he was tried and convicted.
You opt for beatings for more inforamation. Beat a guy enough times and you'll get a lot of "information". Most of it won't be true but it is a nice way to get the beatings to stop.

So let me ask this. Does anyone think our brave soldiers are just going to "give up the goods" if beaten/toruted? If you answer no you have already answered my next question.
Do you think any of our "brave enemies" would just "give up the goods"?

Scotland had a choice to keep him or release him. They chose poorly. I guess haggis will now be called 'liberty entrails' in America.

When did I say anything about before we was convicted, huh? How long "after" he was tried & convicted did they have him for? Several years? Do you think the guy acted alone? Do you think he just may have had some info that could have saved some lives? And do you really think beating some info out of him is that much different than strapping him to the wing of a 747?
You opt for beatings for more inforamation. Beat a guy enough times and you'll get a lot of "information". Most of it won't be true but it is a nice way to get the beatings to stop.
"More" information? How about any information? As far as I know the guy didn't give up any of his partners. I say beat info out of him (he was tried & convicted, right?). If the info is bad, beat him some more. What are our enemies going to do, treat our people worse than they do already?
