Joe & Company sure do like to brag about how wonderful the economy is. I have commented on the nations economic condition in numerous threads by painting the picture from a businessman's perspective..... I have also commented in the past on my customer base. I cater to a number of minority contractors. They were some of my favorite folks. They played straight and always paid me promptly. I had taken note that some of my favorite minority contractors have been uncomfortably silent recently and sent my sales staff on a mission to see what was going on. Come to find out that two of my favorite minority contractors folded this last summer. They couldn't survive the constant barrage of hits this thriving economy placed on them.... To date, I am not yet claiming victory over economic circumstances, but I will fight to the end no matter how far reality differs from the picture that Joe & Company are painting.... I just found it particularly sad that the very people this administration claims to be catering to have taken the hardest hits.... Yeah, Joe.... You did that.
biden knows the economy is in the toilet, but he pays lip service to keep his base enthused. Anyone with at least one eye can see that inflation is at historic levels and is not easing any time soon. Recession is on the horizon, but this administration keeps changing the definition so, therefore, we will never enter recession. See how easy that is?
I think you are giving him too much credit. I think he is being told the country and economy is in good shape. He has no clue.
How about "I'm against fracking." "I'm not against fracking." This is what the democrats get away with and their ignorant voters still vote for them!.
Ask any Republican what their economic plan is during this election. It's tax cuts for the wealthy and nothing for the rest exactly like every time they gain power. Ask any Republican what they plan to do to curb this world-wide inflation problem and not one of them has a plan. Do you know why? Because they know that not only do they have no plan other than more tax cuts for the wealthy, but they also know that they don't have to have a plan because no one on the Right is even asking them to have a plan. None of you could even articulate an idea they have regarding the economy. I know what you are against, you just have no idea what you are for. That is all Republicans are offering. And you're buying? Every time I see one of the MAGA ads on TV, they are blaming Biden and the Democrats for the inflation which started under Trump and was the result of a pandemic and a supply chain disruption that affected every western economy you can name. So, blaming Democrats for inflation is stupid and saying you have no plan to address inflation is just that much dumber. But I digress. Please tell me what the Right would do differently than the Biden Administration to address inflation on a world-wide scale. You can't because other than writing a big old blank check to the wealthiest Americans, there is nothing to do but raise interest rates over time and tamp down the upward pressure on the economy. I guess they could F it up but the Fed would see to it that they didn't. So, any ideas on what they would do differently? Probably not. They don't even have a platform on the Right. Gain power with the greatest number of lies told to the dumbest people seems to be the extent of their planning.
That's one race I'm still more confident in going blue. Despite the right's continued use of celebrity candidates to win voters.
Most of it (a bit under an hour, so far). Fetterman very clearly still has problems from the stroke, but that's not really a problem for the job he's going into. It was brave of him to agree to a debate at all (if a little dumb), but in most who have suffered a stroke, cognition is separate from speech. Obviously there's only so much they can do to accommodate, but his answers would likely be far clearer if he could type his responses. Frankly I'm far more interested in his policy than his eloquence.
Not only was his speech a problem, but so was his cognition. The man was either lying about his support FOR fracking or his cognition caused him to forget that he used to be AGAINST fracking. Either way, it does not bode well for the man. Maybe these problems were caused by the stroke or maybe the guy is an idiot. I can't say, but is that really someone you want in the Senate? I suppose that's your decision, but personally I'd rather have someone who can at least remember to put the seat up before he takes a piss. We'll have to wait to see if the voters in Pennsylvania feel the same.
Of course you mean BESIDES the Left's use of celebrity candidates such as Clay Aiken, Albert Dekker, Jerry Springer, George Takei, Al Franken, Ben Jones, Will Rogers, Will Rogers, Jr., Helen Gahagan Douglas, J.G. Hertzler, Sheila Kuehl, Stephen Peace and Steven Michael Quezada?
You can't judge cognition by speech, especially in stroke patients. Aiken - lost the primary, that means he was rejected by the left Dekker - relatively minor political position representing the area he actually lived in for state assembly Springer - political career was pre-celebrity career. And his post celebrity Senate run was rejected due to his celebrity Takei - ran for city council once, rejected by Dems who voted for David Cunningham Jr. Franken - I'll give you Franken, but he was ousted by Dems for misconduct and his victory pre-proving himself was historically narrow. Jones - political activism well outdates his acting career, but sure you can have him too. Rogers - ran satirically Rogers Jr - not a celebrity Douglas - involved in politics before success in acting, literally became a member of Congress as a woman in the 1940's, please give some credit for using whatever she needed to break that glass ceiling. Hertzler - town council in his own town Kuehl - never went beyond state positions, first openly gay legislator in California. Again, glass ceilings. Peace - not really a celebrity outside of his political career. Were you a big attack of the killer tomatoes fan? I hear there's dozens of you. Quezada - literally just representing local offices in his home That was fun to break down, you must be very flexible after all that stretching This where you got your list? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_actor-politicians Because hilariously, Republicans way outnumber Dems on that list
It isn’t all that hard really….. Stop the war on energy. Stop spending money. Stop giving money away. Teach a core work ethic in lieu of gender confusion. That alone will propel young minds much further in life than gender conflict.
Gene, I think you may be right. I remember that in past elections some voting areas in the Phila area had NO VOTES CAST FOR A REPUBLICAN! What is expected to happen is after that far left "Commie" wins, he is going to resign so they can put in a worse (I cannot see how) Liberal. It is not that he cannot do the job due to his health problems (which the democrats kept secret until early voting had started and tons of votes had already been cast); his platform is murder for all of us! My grandfather was a democrat who worked for the Phil. government. That's where I first hard the saying, "You can't fight City Hall (where he worked)." The Washington Swamp cannot be drained by anyone. Even the republican head of the Senate is working to defeat great people SO HE CAN RETAIN HIS POWER. PS The dems are posting fake twitter posts supposedly from NY Post staffers that are absurd. They are so far off it would be like seeing you posted "God is Great!"
Planning the destruction of free enterprise is the only planning democrats do well . . . Take a long walk off a short pier.
A. There is no war on energy B. Stop spending ALL money? C. Teach work ethics? D. Don't teach kids about gender? As vague and nonsensical as the rest of the MAGAs for damn sure.
U.S. GDP accelerated at 2.6% pace in Q3, better than expected as growth turns positive Source: CNBC The U.S. economy posted its first period of positive growth for 2022 in the third quarter, at least temporarily easing inflation fears, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported Thursday. GDP, a sum of all the goods and services produced from July through September, increased at a 2.6% annualized pace for the period, against the Dow Jones estimate for 2.3%. That reading follows consecutive negative quarters to start the year, meeting a commonly accepted definition of recession, though the National Bureau of Economic Research is generally considered the arbiter of downturns and expansions. The growth came in large part due to a narrowing trade deficit, which economists expected and consider to be a one-off occurrence that won’t be repeated in future quarters. GDP gains also came from increases in consumer spending, nonresidential fixed investment and government spending. Declines in residential fixed investment and private inventories offset the gains, the BEA said. “Overall, while the 2.6% rebound in the third quarter more than reversed the decline in the first half of the year, we don’t expect this strength to be sustained,” wrote Paul Ashworth, chief North America economist at Capital Economics. “Exports will soon fade and domestic demand is getting crushed under the weight of higher interest rates. We expect the economy to enter a mild recession in the first half of next year.” The report comes as policymakers fight a pitched battle against inflation, which is running around its highest levels in more than 40 years. Price surges have come due a number of factors, many related to the Covid pandemic but also pushed by unprecedented fiscal and monetary stimulus that is still working its way through the financial system. Tell you what, I'll match your Al Franken with my Arnold Schwarzenegger. Why don't you apply your same set of rules for the Republicans on that list (i.e., "relatively minor position...", "involved in politics before acting...", "town council in his own town...", "never went beyond state positions...", etc.? If you're talking about major positions (U.S. Representative, governor, etc.) as opposed to minor positions (town counsel, mayor, etc.), I think you'll only find a few names on that list such as Sonny Bono, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Ronald Reagan. Such a list wouldn't be very long and shows that not that many celebrities succeed in entering major party politics, Democrat or Republican.
@JoeNation Keep voting the way you d so you'll get more "great" news. Did you know we are not in a recession either? Oh, and the Russians caused the high gas prices.
