Honestly Bone, do you really feel this has any relevence to today's situation? I'd be shocked if you could seriously equate the situation back then to what we see today. If it were as easy as assembling a large army and brutally overrunning entire populations, we'd wouldn't need smart bombs, high tech military equipment, and highly trained soldiers. Besides, I think we usually come down on the side of being against genocide. However, I do keep hearing comments here that imply such a draconian tactic be implemented in this war on terrorism. I just find it hard to believe that people actually are for what they are advocating here.

Moen, you should have done more than JUST SHOW UP for class. It'll get you a passing grade, but....
Relevant to today's situation, Of Course It Is, it has everything to do with today's situation in Afghanistan and Iraq. Anyway, as I'm sure you (might) know Alexander didn't advocate genocide, on the contrary he supported and practiced quite the opposite. Of course there were a few major battles at the onset of the campaigns but after that, pretty-much just one LONG march...

No where near as bloody as the recent epic "ALEXANDER" would have you believe.

    Take Care

Unlike Alexander, never in the history of the world has one country, the United States, with all of its power NOT conquered and killed as previous empires. Rather, the United States has liberated millions of people and all we asked in return was enough land to bury our dead...nothing more.

Still, many appeasers look at the United States as evil, when our actions and our deployment of military power has never been used for conquest, but for defeating and killing the evil of this Earth.

Today, the United States has no interest in acquiring Iraq or Afghanistan and making it the 51st and 52nd state. Quite the opposite...we are engaged in a war against the worst evil this world has seen since the likes of 1938 Germany and Japan.

And I support our actions to kill these animals THERE then wait for them to kill us HERE. Too bad appeasers don't understand that.

When I did show up for class, they always made me explain my answers. They never let me get away with just saying, "Of Course It Is" or "it has everything to do with today's situation in Afghanistan and Iraq." :loud: How? How? How...is it relevant?

Please show all of your work on the page. :eek:hya:

Well Pollyanna, that would be one way to look at the United States...i.e. with rose colored glasses. :kewl:

There are lots of means of conquest, cultural, economic, military. As usual, you take a very narrow view of the world and one that favors your preconceived idea of it's reality. That must make your radical stances seem much less out there to that little voice in your head telling you that you are always right. One day, long after this situation has past into history and has been replaced by dozens of other "life threatening" events, you may finally mature enough to see the foolishness of your own arrogance. But I doubt it.

You've got things backwards Hoss, you've got to prove to me there is no correlation since I'm the instructor here, LOL. :D Alexander and the Macedonians had been invaded and terrorized by the Persians for hundreds of years. They simply decided to take the fight to them (*beyond border skirmishes) in order to stop the raids and quickly realized the Persian wasn't a very good fighter. After rolling thru South West Asia like, ummm Alexander the Great, they simply installed a friendly manageable government in each capitol and left the country to it's own devices. It worked too.

Watch this video about a Muslim school (King Fahad Academy) in the United Kingdom where its books (dated 2005 and 2006) for CHILDREN are teaching muslim children that Jews and Christians are "pig and monkeys" and any other religion other than Islam will suffer "sure hell-fire".

When the director of the academy is questioned (middle of the tape), she responds exactly like Dracus and other appeasers here at Coin Talk.

She is full of excuses and claims these verses are "taken out of context" which is soooooooo typical when you question a "true muslim". The interviewer gave her every opportunity to correct the hate being taught in her school, but like a good little "true" muslim, she couldn't denounce this HATE.

Why? That is what "true" islam is all about! Watch the video and YOU be the judge...

Christian Theological School Attacked by Muslim Militants in Indonesia

A Christian theological school has been attacked by a group of Muslim militants in east Jakarta.

by Daniel Blake Posted: Saturday, March 17, 2007, 9:10 (GMT)

A Christian theological school has been attacked by a group of Muslim militants in east Jakarta, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW).

Arastamar Evangelical School of Theology (SETIA), which was established in 1987, is one of the biggest Evangelical theology schools in Indonesia. The school was attacked on 8 March 2007, and the following Saturday, over 200 Muslim militants besieged the school for three hours, shouting threats and demanding the closure of the school.

In the attack some of the outlying ventilation buildings of the new dormitory were burned down and the attackers threatened to bring a crowd of 1000 militants to close the school down on Saturday 11 March, CSW has said. The Islamist militant groups Front Pembela Islam (FPI) and FBR are believed to be behind the attack.

Reports explain that the school was besieged by over 200 militants for three hours from 9.30am. The crowd shouted threats and demanding the closure of the school. Indonesian police reportedly sent a detachment of some 400 police officers in order to prevent the mob from further attacking the school.

FPI claimed that the school is illegal despite the fact that SETIA has official permits both for the existing buildings and the new dormitory. FPI has a reputation for violent demonstrations and attacks but in the past they primarily targeted nightclubs and restaurants serving alcohol during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, CSW has reported.

SETIA’s vice-principal, Juwanto, stated: “This is now a common occurrence in Indonesia. SETIA has all the necessary permits but it does not matter. The demonstration is mainly by outsiders not local community. But today the government showed that it cares about the situation. We do not know if this group will return. We need to pay attention to security and pray to the Lord.”

If Moen and Danr were at Troy, would they have been the ones who would have said, "Open the Gates and let in the horse" for we were right for the Greeks only came to bare us gifts.

Know your enemy. Know that you can not reason with someone who was raised to believe that God wants you dead and it is thier duty to God do as such. These are the same people who as a group used to throw their babies into the ravines for Baal. Now they send their babies,or young, as human bombs. Baal became Allah.
Pure evil disguised as a god.

Just shows hom much you know Andy...The Greeks or more accurately, the Spartans used to throw their babies off a cliff if they had any quality they deemed to be less than perfect. Their goal was to only create perfect soldiers to die in glorious battles. Your knowledge of actual history is about as deep as the veil of your biases and you can see right through them.

    Who is talking about Sparta?
The Greeks were a reference to the Trojan War and how the Trojan, most likely liberal, idiots inside betrayed their military and decided to open the gates and let down their guard

Baal and Islam was a reference to the middle east which you seem to know nothing about since it was a common ,now called, arab practive to throw babies into the ravines as an offering of devotion to Baal. Gee throw baby into a ravine to train my babies to be suicide bombers. From Baal to Allah. The one and the same evil.

The Spartans were Greek as well as the Athenians. Yeah! I'm sure it was those dreaded "Liberals" that betrayed their military. I bet Clinton himself was there and personally saw to the betrayal. Very-hard-to-take-you-seriously-Andy.

It sure is nice to have someone like you around to tell us all how it was. Geeez!

As is said in most military academys, we study history not to learn dates but to know human nature. History repeats itself for human nature has not really changed over the course of time. You just have to know your enemy and realize your weakness.
Yes there were Clintons back then and there were Regans back then just like both personality types will again be represented in the future.
One has to recognize which type is needed when and which type would bring disaster.

I love reading about Winston Chruchhill. Others told him to "shut up" when he spoke about the rise of Hitler and his fellow Nazis, but good 'ole Winston stood by his convictions and warned the free world about the rise of these 'animals'. He was 100% right and he told those 'appeasers' where to go.

We need a 2007 Winston Churchhill today more so then ever to warn us about the rise of these sick muslim animals that wish for total islamic domination and world-wide sharia law.

This Shira Law thing is one we need to stand firm on NOW. When in the country of another one MUST obey and follow the laws of the land. You're welcome to bring your culture but you'd better leave the law behind.
