Again, after the debacle called the debate happened, my faith in both major candidates has fallen lower. So again, serious consideration is being taken to consider a 3rd Party candidate for my first ever vote. My choices come down to • Jorgensen- Libertarian Party • Blankenship- Constitution Party Both have very similar views, though Jorgensen is much more isolationist than Blankenship, Jorgensen said she would love to see a “Giant Switzerland” of the USA, a simple government with little involvement in other countries affairs, but a well armed and trained military and citizenry. Your thoughts on either of these candidates?
Blankenship? Seriously? He spent a year in federal prison for conspiring to violate federal mine safety standards. Now there is a man that will look out for the average guy.
Yes I do remember hearing about that, and it’s a concern obviously. Perhaps I support the Party values more than the candidate in that.
All I know is that Blankenship decided that profit was more important than his worker's lives. Values like that, I can live without. Listen, this is your first vote ever. Vote however you want to vote. There will be other elections in your future. They won't all be as starkly contrasted as this one is. I see this election as either a way to unite or divide us for good. Wait a minute, never mind what I said about other elections in your future. Depending on how this one goes, this might be your last chance a a real election choice. The next one could be a Vladimir Putin-style choice where large men come into the polling place and stuff thousands of ballots into the box while actual voters stand by and watch knowing the outcome in advance.
Isolationism works for Switzerland, but they don’t have the responsibility to deal with Communist China, Iran and North Korea. Switzerland has lived for at least since World War II with the anti-Nazi, anti-Communist countries protecting them. If the Nazis or the Communists had won, they would have been at Switzerland’s doorstep and quickly taken it down.
