Edwards is a trial lawyer that HAD to run with Kerry in 2004 because he knew he was going to lose his Senate seat in North Carolina. That is how bad he was. Face it, he made his fortune suing and extorting money from businesses and doctors.

It got so bad in North Carolina that many physicans LEFT the state as malpractice insurance costs were out of control. Put a band-aide on vertically instead of horizontally?? You probably will get sued and who would want to practice medicine or run a business when trial lawyers like Edwards are blood sucking every MS68 Red cent they can get.

Most suits are settled and lawyers like Edwards walk away with 35 to 50% of the take. Who pays? WE ALL DO!! Shoot..you can't even get a hot cup of coffee anymore because if you are stupid enough to spill it on your lap as you drive off from a McDonald's drive through...don't worry, you can SUE!! Edwards is out there asking you, "Have you been hurt or injured?" Don't worry...it's NEVER your fault and most likely it wouldn't go to trial as they will probably settle.

Edwards NEVER produced anything constructive. He sued. He extorted. He and his trial lawyers fight "loser pays" legislation because do they want to reduce frivolous lawsuits?? NEVER!!

Does Edwards want to see settlement caps on "lottery jury awards"?? NEVER!!

It happens all of the time...a moran trips on your side walk and sues. Your insurance may settle for say $25,000. What happens? A.) Your insurance gets canceled or B.) Your premiums go through the roof!! The moran then looks for the next sidewalk he can trip on because it sure beats watching Jerry Springer during the mid-afternoon.

If you are running a business, you MUST pass these costs on to the consumer and then we all pay!! Medical insurance going up? Thank a trial lawyer like Edwards.

Edwards for President?? I rather see Tony Saprano run. He wouldn't make any bones about screwing the public because it is "just business". At least he would be up front about it.

As for a centralist President?? That means no backbone. Give me a man or woman that STANDS behind their convictions. You may not like or argree with everything, but I'll take that person over somebody that sticks their finger in the wind.

The first person that is going to...

**Close our borders so that LEGAL immigrants are only allowed in this country.

**Demand an expanded energy program which may mean drilling for oil in Alaska or off the Florida coast along with about 100 NEW nuclear power plants. It doesn't mean I hate the environment. Heck, I breath the same air and drink water like you do. Who doesn't want clean air? Does that mean we should dump the automobile and start riding horses again?

**Make English the official lanquage of the United States.

**Pass "Loser Pays" and cap lawsuit settlements

**Fight a war like Patton which means KILL the enemy (shoot them in the belly!) Insurgents are called the enemy. Let's not sugarcoat who these animals are.

**Keep government spending in line with inflation ONLY, except in times of an emergency like hurricanes and war.

**Flat and Fair tax rate so that all pay the SAME rate. You make 10 times more, you pay 10 times more taxes

**Use government tax revenues to revamp the infrastructure. Better roads and all lead to more commerce. Commerce leads to more jobs.

That is just some of the principles I believe it. If you get ANY candidate that makes this case with a backbone, he will get 60% of the vote...EASY!!

Midas it is simply untrue that lawsuits drive up malpractice insurance in any significant way. The way insurance companies (mis)invest the float does that.
Btw a tiny percentage of docs get sued over and over again but they are policed by other docs therefore they keep their licences. If they want lower malpractice ins get rid of the butchers.

I admit some of you ideal candidate ideas are ok

Wake up guys! It's Hillary and Obama all the way. We're ready for it. Hey, why do you think Geena Davis is playing a female prez? Answer: To get us used to the idea.

centralist doesnt mean flip flop. it means (atleast to me) one who isnt in the christian rights pocket, or in socialist left. we need a secular president, not atheist but secula. the federal government has become to powerful.they should be incharge of our protection against threats abroad, and local government should be inchage of protecing us from internal threats.

The only Democrat who can and ought to have a fair shot at winning is one who can build up a true Democratic platform. Right now, the only thing the Dems stand for is whatever the Republicans do not stand for. Anything anti-Republican is on their ticket. The Democrat who can put forth a real agenda and platform and build a case for his or her ideals is the only one I would give respect to. Right now, I don't see a candidate that fits those criteria in sight for the Dems.

Does that mean that you admit that the leftywood is trying to influence the presidential election already?

I think that the nation needs a strong centalist democrat as president who is willing to lean to the right in terms of national security which includes the border issue for the times dictate that but who would also listen to the liberals, not the leftist, to keep everything in perspective.

I am hoping that someone will burst onto the scene from outside the traditional favorites as the real Clinton had done as well as Jimmy, Gag, Carter.
I regret that this might not happen thru with Dean in charge and the leftist leanings of the democratic primary system.

I have no problem with the sex or ethnic background of the president. I just want another Truman or Reagan mindset.
Remember Truman was a democrat and Reagan actually was popular with alot of mainstream Democrats who voted for him. Both had messages that they believed in, communicated well, and implemented with vigor.

    Andy...

You are right. It is called having a backbone. Truman and Reagan had it and even though you may have not agreed with all of their policies, they won respect. Too many politicans today want to make everybody happy. Clinton had it down to a science. He ran a poll and governed as to what way the wind blew.

As for voting for a democrat. I will vote for one that can prove to me that can and will defend this country. I have no faith in those that want to fight wars like Johnson did during Vietnam...which was tie the hands of the military and bomb targets on weekends so we don't kill that many people.

I also will vote for a democrat when they come up with a plan other than more taxes and more government. Of course they do not call it taxes, they call it "investments in America." They have this mind set that they know better what to do with OUR money than we do.

Also, today's democrats have get over this class warfare. I talked to one liberal demo-socialist the other day where he suggested we raise taxes on those people making over $250,000 to 100%!!! I asked that may work for the first year, but what would happen the second year you try to collect these taxes? He looked at me dumb foundedly (there's a shock) and asked, "what do you mean?" and I stated that if you think people would gladly work just to give up their income to the government for NOTHING, you are sadly misguided. He could not understand that if you punish achievement, why would you want to achieve??

That is the mindset of these people. Take, take, take, gimmee, gimmee, gimmee.

So what is the plan you democrats? How much more do you want? How long can you have a party with NO vision other than being anti-republican?

Face it...today's democrats are not your father's democrats. Today's democrats are nothing more than socialists. Today's republicans are nothing more than democrats of 40 years ago...and no I AM NOT talking about civil rights issues, but fiscal spending and defense issues.

  19. Moen1305

    Moen1305 Not Republican!

No, it means that I SPECULATE they are influencing the next election. Would you admit that the rightwing Evangelicals influenced the last two elections?

Oh please...like you don't think that Black churches were not out scaring the dickens out of their members. Black ministers were out stating that if republicans won elections, their churches will burn and the dogs will be turned on them. They even passed out pamphelts showing fire hoses spraying blacks from the early civil rights riots. Race baiting, class warfare, throw granny with no social security out on the street...same old BS from the left.

Sure there is a lot of people that believe in pro life as do Evangelicals...but that is NOT what decides elections.

Face it...republicans got their vote out while democrats were home waiting for their government hand out.

Gimmee, gimmee, gimmee...you have no vision and no plans other than to take MORE from people that produce and work their butts off!
