Genuinely though, I don't think she can in this hypothetical. Gotta be 35 to be president. She's currently 31. Now, I firmly believe (hope) Joe will step down in 2024. Harris might be able to pick her as a VP then. Still, I doubt it. The establishment Democrats running the party are not big fans of hers. Booker or Pete seem more likely to me
There are no establishment Democrats. You're either drinking the intersectionalist Kool Aid or you're not. Wasn't Nancy P originally opposed Impeachment 1.0 but the uber progressives yanked here back in line.
Oh yeah, thankfully the progressives are gaining ground. If there were no establishment Democrats, why did we get Biden and Harris? He was easily the most moderate of the group, and she has history as a prosecutor who's policies led to higher incarceration of people of color and protecting police misdoings. I know of no progressives that like him, and I thought Harris was the worst VP pick. Why did the DNC crush Bernie twice? He's very motivating to the progressives.
I think they wanted Harris but couldn't get her pass the primaries. Biden fits the profile for the rank and file but is very flexible. Switch and Bait. Plus, during the campaign, didn't she say Harris Administration once or twice. The powers that be deep inside the DNC want a very progressive administration.
See though, on her records and 2020 primary stances, I really don't see her as a progressive. More progressive than Biden, for sure, but not liberal/progressive at all compared to the left wing of the party.
All this from a guy that voted for Trump twice. I have little interest in any opinion that comes from extremists calling other people extremists. The Right is so far out on the extreme fringe these days that it is laughable for them to talk about anyone being too extreme.

Facts First: Harris' voting record in the Senate is certainly one of the most liberal, though her record prior to the Senate is more moderate on some issues. CNN holds elected officials and candidates accountable by pointing out what's true and what's not. Here's a look at our recent fact checks. After six years as California's attorney general, Harris was elected to the US Senate in 2016. Since then, she has co-sponsored bills aligned with several liberal causes including expanding gun control measures and passing "Medicare for All." Harris has also voted against many Trump nominees for federal judgeships and top positions inside his administration. In 2019, GovTrack, a non-partisan organization that tracks bills in Congress, ranked Harris as the "most liberal compared to All Senators." One measure the organization uses is comparing how many bipartisan bills each senator cosponsors to how many bills they co-sponsored in total. Harris had the lowest at 15% in 2019. During her primary run, Harris eventually disagreed with Vermont Sen. Since becoming a senator, Harris has changed her stance on marijuana in particular.
