    Welcome back!

And moen would not know the truth if it bit him in the .... Just like BO didn't know it was a tax even when his lawyers said it was a tax.

Yep, it was a tax. We all knew it was a tax and we all knew that Obama knew it was a tax. He just didn't want us to think he knew that we knew that he knew. Sadly, it stands for now and people like me are going to be penalized for not being able to afford to pay this tax (at least for now).

I'm back for *now* If certain individuals who persist in insulting people instead of having discussion return and insult me again, then I'm off again. But for now I'll enjoy it and have some fun. And thanks for the warm welcome! :)

To be honest looking over this forum most of it seems to consist of people hurling insults at each other and very little actual discussion.

When I started here there seemed to be more discussion and less insult hurling. It was more enjoyable then. After a while it got to be that I had to think twice about posting anything that would open me to insults--and since everything seemed insult fodder then, it was easier just to leave than to feel miserable and defensive every time I posted here.

As to the Supreme Court ruling: I understand why they made it, even though I disagree with the results I foresee from it.

Yeah, I am sure that is what it looks like, but when you pull out moen (by whatever name he chooses), and qless, I think you will find people who are not insulted by nearly every one of their post actually can have an intelligent discussion without slurs if they are not otherwise provoked.

Thanks for posting again, HM. We don't always see eye-to-eye, but that's what makes a discussion forum interesting, right? Anyway, the main offender is only on vacation and will be returning. Stick around in the meantime for some good political discussion. With the election in November coming up quickly, this forum will probably be a hotbed of political back-and-forth (with minimal insults, let's hope).

Papa John’s Becomes First Business to Put a Price on Obamacare
    August 10, 2012

The CEO of Papa John’s pizza made headlines this week upon declaring that Obamacare would cost him between 11 and 14 cents more per pizza. While many small-business owners have speculated about the cost of the bill on their businesses, John Schnatter was the first entrepreneur to put an actual amount on the bill in regard to his personal business.
Schnatter has made no secret of who he supports for the 2012 election, and said he does not support the health-care overhaul. The pizza mogul hosted a fundraiser for GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney at his Louisville, KY home in April. He acknowledged the cost would not impact him as badly as it stands to hurt his smaller counterparts. Papa John’s has a high volume of orders, so therefore it can distribute the costs among its clientele so they won’t feel such a hit.
“We certainly understand the importance of healthcare to our customers, our employees, small business owners and their employees,” the company said. “As a publicly traded company, we were responding to a direct question from an analyst on our quarterly financial conference call about the anticipated costs of complying with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
“When certain business costs increase – such as fuel, ingredients or employee healthcare – there is an impact to the price of products and services. The vast majority of Papa John's restaurants are owned by small business people, each of whom will be impacted in different ways by costs associated with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.”
McDonald’s (MCD) also came out with a statement that the bill stands to cost each of its individual restaurants anywhere from $10,000 to $30,000 depending on full and part-time employees, workers with coverage and more, FOX Business reported.

Surprise, surprise! A Romney supporter has magically estimated a future cost based one figures he can't possibly know that would help cover more and more people's health costs. I'm failing to see the downside to this story.

And that cost will be passed on the customers as it always is. And who eats at Papa Johns and McDonalds? Poor people, that who. Barack Obama hates poor people!
