True enough. This brings me back to something I said in another thread - a person can call themselves whatever they want. But in this case, when the label is unclear and seemingly oxymoronic, it really doesn't mean anything until the person explains exactly what it means to be a "christian atheist". So I can't answer the question until I get an explanation from them. Presumably, whatever that explanation might be, the answer would then be "yes, there is such a thing as a christian atheist.. it's that guy." (by his own definition, which might not mean anything to anybody else!)

 

Well I think I found the website you were referring to, angie, and it's the title of a book written by a pastor who calls himself a "recovering christian atheist". Basically what he means by the term is a person who calls themselves a christian, who believes in god, but lives their life as if god doesn't exist. By definition, what he is referring to is not an atheist at all. It's just his gimmick to sell books - don't put too much thought into it, it doesn't warrant it.

 

I cannot remember the site, but it had nothing to do with a book. But thanks for putting so much effort into it PK!
