For years the English have been called racist if they celebrated St Georges day! yet St Patrick, St David, St Andrews days were ok Thankfully things have improved and now they can have fun and fly the English flag without so many negative comments

Celebrating cultural diversity is becoming a no-no, but liberals are hardly the only people capable of being insane that way. In my town, a Republican woman became enraged that the local university had an annual Parade of Nations event and put the flags of all the participating countries on the downtown lamp posts...as it had been done every year since I can remember. For weeks the local paper had both pro and con comments running in the Letters to the Editor section. Granted, this was about 8 or 9 years ago ...during the height of the ultra-paranoid/patriotic frenzy that swept the nation after 9-11... but the fact that our town was celebrating diversity, while this crazy woman (and her supporters) demanded only American flags be visible... that was just priceless.
