Donald Trump will visit Mar-a-Lago again this Friday, for the third weekend in a row By Colin Wolf on Mon, Feb 13, 2017 Orlando Weekly Donald Trump, a man who claimed while campaigning that he would not be a president who took vacations, will return to the fabulous Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida for his third consecutive vacation this Friday. According to the Palm Beach Post, a recent Federal Aviation Administration advisory states that Trump will be in Palm Beach Monday through Friday. This is a good time to think back to 2015, about a week after Donald Trump announced his candidacy. While opening the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, Trump took a break from golfing to talk about how important it is, as a president, to be present at The White House and rarely take vacations. "I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done,” said Trump. "I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off. You don’t have time to take time off." trump's a lying sack of shit.
Your attempt to deceive the audience is quite transparent . . . there's absolutely no comparison between the short breaks POTUS Trump takes between his stretches of intense service and the 16 day vacations taken by Barack Obama between his stretches of liesure activities in the White House . . . that man got NOTHING done while serving us. More important than him wasting our money is the fact that he wasted 8 years of our time.
BTW; 2/19/17 - interviewing candidates for National Security post. 2/12/17 - Meeting Japanese Prime Minister Abe. 2/5/17 - President Trump continues his weekend away from the White House in Palm Beach, Florida with an interview on Fox News, separate phone calls to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and New Zealand Prime Minister Bill English late in the afternoon
As if none of the things Trump did in Florida couldn't have been done in the White House. "Trump family trips cost taxpayers $11.3m in one month – almost as much as Obama’s cost in a year" It's entertaining to watch those who loved to jump up and down and yell about Obama now change their tune and attempt to defend the excesses of their beloved Trump. They take their marching orders from the hypocrite in chief.
Hmmmm... Coast Guard, Secret Service, police... why do you think a president needs all that? I would say that Trump is entitled to go anywhere he wants just as Obama was. To view this as a monetary tit-for-tat compared to Obama is quite naive. The violent liberals have demonstrated that security for Trump needs to be considerably higher than it was for Obama. I encourage violent liberals to stop being so violent and save the American taxpayers some money. President Trump is entitled to visit his home in Florida as often as he wants. He's president 24/7 and can accomplish just as much there as he can in Washington. In four years, let's compare the time Trump spent goofing off compared to Obama.
You need to check out your posts. The numbers look in you favor until you discover they are apparently comparing Obama's cost (ex his family) to President Trump's entire family expenses and President Trump has a large independent family. For comparison, a single of his yearly trips to Hawaii for Obama costs $16,000,000. Interestingly he supposedly only averaged $12.1M.
The article says "Donald Trump’s family’s trips have cost taxpayers nearly as much in a month as Barack Obama’s cost in an entire year." They're comparing all family trips of the two presidents. It's no surprise that you don't want to believe what they say.
OOPS! "The Post also revealed it cost $88,320 to put secret service agents up in a hotel while son Eric Trump visited Uruguay to promote a Trump-brand condo tower. Records show it cost $5,470 to put up secret service officials at the AlSol Del Mar hotel in the Dominican Republic, as they scoped out the area, ahead of a similar visit by Eric Trump." Oh, and even your quote specifies just what I said. "Donald Trump’s family’s trips have cost taxpayers". That includes his entire family in their "costs". And the you have "Barack Obama’s cost in an entire year". That specifically EXCLUDES the Obama family.
trump: "I would rarely leave the White House..." reality: 3rd straight weekend away from the White House, in his 1st month in office. trump sycophants: "It's the liberal's fault!" reality: republicans are insane.
The guy is a lazy f'ing bastard. He has no stamina, he is low energy, and he does nothing but watch tv all damn day. What a national disgrace and embarrassment.
You're parsing the sentence dishonestly. That's not surprising; you take your cue from the habitual liar Trump. According to the McClatchy News Bureau, Obama's vacations and those of his family cost approximately $90 million over the past 8 years. That comes to $11.25 million per year. However, the Judicial Watch number for the eight years of the Obama family travel expenses comes to approximately $97 million. We'll take the precise number given by Judicial Watch ($96,938,882.51), and averaging it over eight years gives us approximately $12 million per year. Trump family travel expenses for the month in question come to something over $11 million. The article I originally cited accurately compares Trump family travel to Obama family travel, and the fact is that in one month, Trump's family travel expenses cost the taxpayers nearly as much as the yearly average for Obama's family. Unlike your hero, the mountebank Trump, numbers don't lie.
The article in the Independent cited Judicial Watch's numbers. I linked to the Judicial Watch piece, and their numbers include travel expenses for Obama's family members. Trump jaunting off to Florida and his family members' junkets have cost the American taxpayers nearly as much in a month as the travel expenses for Obama and his family cost them on average for a year. This is a fact, and your repeated denial of the fact will not change it. It's what happens when a self-indulgent plutocrat and his family have free rein with the taxpayers' money.
Sorry, I missed something. http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/paying-president-trumps-travel-security-costs/story?id=45572927 BTW, I really doubt that Judicial watch can get information ABC cannot.
Apparently you haven't even bothered to look at the Judicial Watch page that I've linked. It's clearly explained there that they've filed Freedom of Information Act requests to get the data they use. In fact, they've been harping on about this topic for some time, and if you look at a list of their stories about it, you'll see that they've made repeated Freedom of Information Act requests over the years to get the information they use in those stories. They say that they'll keep on top of the issue now that Trump is in office. That remains to be seen, but if they do, it looks like the president and his family will be giving them plenty to talk about.
This lazy prick needs to go... Right Wing Heads Are Going To Explode CBS This Morning just pointed out that Donald Trump's travel this year could cost more than the cost of President Obama's travel over eight years. The reported began by mentioning that Trump has been at Mar-A-Lago for 11 of his 33 days in office and his three trips in a row have cost taxpayers about $10 million. Then there was a breakdown of the costs of getting Trump to and from Mar-A-Lago. Next, the report brought up Trump's criticism of President Obama's presidential travel. Then it gave the cost of eight years of President Obama's travel followed by the tidbit that Trump was on pace to surpass that number by the end of this year. The report then moved on to pointing out the cost in lost business when Trump travels to Mar-A-Lago. Because planes are grounded when Trump is in town nothing goes in and nothing goes out of the area. As a result, the cost in lost business is $33,000 for each trip. The report ended on a high note for Trump in that someone who welcomed Trump's weekly travel was featured. A high end boutique owner stated that Donald Trump's visits would increase the number of high end shoppers who would visit the area and that would help everyone at the high end of the scale. I imagine Republicans are going to say, but, but, Donald Trump is not just traveling to play golf with his rich friends like President Obama did when he traveled around the world and the United States; Trump is working while at Mar-A-Lago. I also imagine they will say, so what, Donald Trump needs a break because of the mess that President Obama left him and he is working so much harder than President Obama ever worked when he was in the White House. They will most likely say they did not have a problem with President Obama taking vacations. They just did not like that he never seemed to do his job and he was taking vacations when so many Americans were trying to find jobs, but could not gain full time employment. I am pretty certain they will claim 93 million American were unemployed during President Obama's time in office and that number has started to come down since Donald Trump election.
