I now understand why they've been in business so long...and it doesn't look like they're going to stop any time soon :D Thanks again-

I believe the rates are part of the reason people pump up the shipping.. You do not pay fees to Ebay for shipping.

Timely question, I'm getting together coins and other things to put up for bid there shortly. Prices are less elsewhere but ebay has the volume viewership. There are 2 other places I would rather sell at but one requires a seller history( I have none) and the other requires slabs and they just jacked there charges to the seller to the point where I feel its a rip.

Very interesting-but yet it makes sense

I agree with lakebreeze about the volume viewership. I looked on yahoo auctions and you can tell its not got near the amount of stock or bidders.

When you figure Paypal fees, and Ebay Listing and Final Value Fees..... It amounts to about 7%. Yes, that is 7% of the selling price. That is what you will pay, when you sell for a bit.

Or one could look at it from the glass is half empty perspective...

The reason the rates are so high is because people pump up the shipping.

I'm not saying the fees aren't up there, nor do I have a stake or opinion either way. Just another way of looking at it.
