This is for those people that believe islam is a "religion of peace". I always stated there are 4 types of muslims in the world. They are...

1.) Those that want to subjugate and kill all infidels
2.) Those that want to subjugate and kill only the Jews (especially Israel)
3.) Those that want nothing to do with 1.) and 2.)
4.) Those that understand the actions of 1.) and 2.) and harbor, support, and protect these animals who willingly carry out 1.) and 2.)

I also always stated there are MILLIONS of people that fall in group #4. This is not a handful of idiots, but MILLIONS of these people. For me, they are just as terrible as groups number #1 and #2 and need to be dealt with the same vigor as groups #1 and #2.

Well ladies and gentlemen...here's more proof that the majority of mulsims fall into group #4...

Ramallah: The Islamic militant group Hamas captured a large majority of seats (75 out of 132) in the Palestinian legislative elections, officials in Hamas and the ruling Fatah Party said on Thursday. Did I mention a 78% voter turn out??

Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia and his cabinet ministers submitted their resignations to Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas today. "This is the choice of the people. It should be respected," Qureia said. "If it’s true [the results], then the president should ask Hamas to form a new government. For me, personally, I sent my resignation."

Hamas leader Mahmoud Zahar said today that the group would declare its intentions after official results are announced. (Probably to push Israel into the sea)

Israel and the United States have said they would not deal with a Hamas-led Palestinian government.

    *********************************************************

So there you have it folks, free elections have shown what true muslims really believe by electing a TRUE terrorist orgainization to rule a county...ah yes, the "religion of peace" at work wouldn't you say??

Call me crazy, but I think this might just be a positive for the Israeli state, depending on the level of determination of the Prime Minister to protect Israel. Palestinians, by electing a terrorist organization, have effectively lost 100 million dollars worth of humanitarian aid. And, when the temporary truce is broken by Hamas terrorists, Israel will have a place to direct its bombs. Israel might as well take out Iran and the Palestinians in one fell swoop while they're at it.

That's mob rule for you. One of the founders of America said that a democracy only lasts until the people find out they can vote themselves money from the treasury.

Although I tend to agree with Midas' assessment, you have to put yourself into the Palestinians' shoes for a minute here. They were faced with two choices - the status quo, Fatah, a group of known corrupt politicians who basically haven't accomplished anything for their people during all their years in power. On the other hand, Hamas has been feeding the poor in Palestine for years.

Both parties have been demonizing Israel and America for a long time; the Palestinian people know no other view of Western culture. Hamas is merely carrying on the pattern of terrorism which Fatah established many years ago, regardless of what Arafat chose to do in his dotage.

Were I Palestinian, I'd probably have voted for Hamas also.

The upshot of this whole affair will be Hamas discovering that there's a lot more to power than holding the trigger - they're now responsible for the well-being of the Palestinian people and if they fail at that mission we'll soon discover that maybe Midas' opinion of the majority of them might not be accurate, when they throw Hamas out in favor of some other party which promises them better lives.

Or, Hamas might successfully feed their people while continuing to walk the path of terror, in which case Palestine will become a marginalized international pariah, perhaps even ceasing to exist as a cohesive nation.

Either way this is a critical turning point for the Middle East, and I hope our leadership has the wisdom to walk the path of the greatest good for the whole region. I'm not confident. :(

    Don't deal with terrorists....

    Don't deal with terrorists
    by Daniel Pipes

[N.B.: This article ran along with and replies to USA Today's house editorial, "Ballot box gains for Hamas pose dilemma for U.S., allies," which argues in favor of prodding Hamas "to make its new image more than cosmetic." For a complementary weblog discussion of the Palestinian elections, see "Thoughts on Hamas' Ascendance."]

    __________

As Hamas, the Islamist terror group, surges in the polls with a prospect of joining the Palestinian Authority or even running it, governments worldwide must decide on their responses.

An increasing number of voices are calling for Hamas to be recognized, arguing that the imperatives of governance would tame it, ending its arch-murderous vocation (it has killed around 600 Israelis) and turning it into a responsible citizen. Even President Bush made this argument in early 2005: "There's a positive effect when you run for office. Maybe some will run for office and say, ‘Vote for me, I look forward to blowing up America.' ... I don't think so. I think people who generally run for office say, ‘Vote for me, I'm looking forward to fixing your potholes, or making sure you got bread on the table.'"

The historical record, however, refutes this "pothole theory of democracy." Mussolini made the trains run, Hitler built autobahns, Stalin cleared the snow and Castro reduced infant mortality — without any of these totalitarians giving up their ideological zeal nor their grandiose ambitions. Likewise, Islamists in Afghanistan, Iran, and Sudan have governed without becoming tamed. If proof is needed, note the Iranian efforts to build nuclear weapons amid an apocalyptic fervor.

Hamas might have hired a spin doctor to improve its image in the West, but its leadership candidly maintains it has no intention of changing. Responding to a question on whether Bush is correct that U.S. engagement with Hamas would moderate the terror group, Mahmoud Zahar, a Hamas founder, laughed and declared that this tactic "will not succeed." In recent days, Zahar has publicly reiterated that Hamas still intends to destroy Israel.

Fortunately, U.S. policy remains steadfast: "We haven't dealt with Hamas, and we won't deal with Hamas members who are elected," says U.S. embassy spokesman Stewart Tuttle in Israel. That is a good start; ideally, there should be no dealings at all with a Palestinian Authority that includes Hamas in its leadership.

It was a mistake to permit Hamas to compete in elections. Like al-Qaeda, Hamas should be destroyed, not legitimated, much less courted.

I don't see what all the fuss is about Hamas winning an election. After all the people they defeated were also terrorists themselves. Just one group of terrorists being traded for another group of terrorists. The sad thing is is that the West made the conditions for the first state in the middle east that is not sponsering terrorists but are all terrorists. The PLO or Hamas, they both use snipers to kill babies if those babies are christian or jewish, they both blow up buses filled with kids going to school, they both blow up pizza palors where teens gather to socialize, etc...
But I am sure Jimmy Carter got another paycheck out of this
and will go on a paid speech tour for Hamas.

Wow, I think a new record has been set. It's been less than one day, and already the Fatah? and Hamas are shooting at each other.

Hey Danr...Having fun watching your "religion of peace" friends in action??

Just a handful of these people??? I don't think so. 78% of the population voted in this election. Muslims in this part of the world showed their true colors that death and violence are all they understand for Jews and infidels.

I am pretty sure that Palestinians have suffered some oppression. I do agree that they have not handled it well but who handles oppression well.

So what you need to do Danr is go join them and shout "No justice, no peace"

Grab a brick, steal a HD television all in the name of "justice", ""oppression" and allah. That would be right up your alley...taking from somebody else for your own benefit...as long as YOU don't have to pay for it.

How much do you think you know about oppression. Is this first hand experience or what someone told you?

Please don't post a web site and tell me to read someone elses answer as your answer. thank you.

This is such a one-sided matter, I just don't understand how some of you want to sit and talk with these Muslims. No matter how much money we throw at them, no matter how long we subject them to therapy lessons, they will always hate infidels. They will always want to kill infidels. There is no treaty, no middle ground, either they are going to die or we ( I am referring to we as the civilized world) are going to die.

We did go to war based on UN resolutions. It should not be hard for you to find extensive evidence outlining the oppression of the palestinians. There are many UN resolutions about this. Many homes have been bulldozed, torture, economic oppression, it is a long list.
