Depends upon the religion or sect involved, I imagine. But, in the eyes of the law, they certainly should be able to be 'really' married.
Homosexuality, while not normal, it is natural. Growing up I had two gay chickens, a hen and a rooster. The hen was very butch and pecked on the other hens and even the roosters didn't f**k with her and she crowed, just like a rooster, although it was garbled. I'd catch the gay rooster sitting on eggs in the nest and his name was Pretty Boy, imagine that. As to your question of whether God recognizes two of the same sex being Joined as One? Yes, She does recognize it and furthermore, She loves everyone UNCONDITIONALLY, regardless of sexual orientation or personal beliefs. Ribbit
From a strictly micro-evolutionary view point it is impossible. I'm not saying it is a choice either (for a majority anyways). Oh, and OMG A REPUBLICAN JUST SIDED WITH EVOLUTION (even if it is only micro).!!!!!!!!!
Bugs! As to T$'s question, it isn't an inherited trait, it has to do with your Soul not being toggled for the sex you are, but the other one instead. To explain further, your Soul is both the Alpha (male) & Omega (female) so if you are being inserted into a male body, normally your Soul's Alpha would be toggled but if the Omega is toggled instead, then you are a girl in a boy's body and I know you've seen girls that look more like a boy. Their Soul was inserted into a girl's body but their Soul's Alpha was toggled instead of the Omega. Basically, the TRUE gays are gay because they were created as such. That is the honest truth! Ribbit
If they were to use your words "Created as such" then they must be Normal as well as Natural or are you saying that God messed up? Would you also care to explain what a Un-True Gay is?
Bi's are a sexual choice and a personal choice. If it floats your boat then don't pee in the bilge. The bible teachs not to judge and so I won't. Also, God loves us Unconditionally so that's how I am, although I dew have a problem with human stupidity that I'm trying to overcome. Ribbit
I try not to judge people either Toad. I just wanted to know if everyone thought that God recognized it.
I can't answer the original question, since I don't believe in God, so I have no idea what His opinion would be. My opinion is that religion does not have a monopoly on the institution of marriage - but I think we are talking about two different things when we use the word "marriage". When I think of marriage, I think of marriage in the legal sense - a legal contract binding the husband and wife and conferring all benefits and privileges that come with it. Gays have every right to this form of marriage in my opinion. The original poster is referring to marriage in a religious sense - a spiritual bond between the husband, the wife, and God Himself. Personally I have no interest in this kind of arrangement (I was married in a secular ceremony) - and whether or not a wedded couple have this kind of relationship is meaningless to me. From my point of view the best answer I can give is that whether or not God recognizes the marriage is entirely dependent on what the particular church decides. But I can answer this question. Yes, there is plenty of evidence that homosexuality is inherited. You may not "believe" or "feel" that it can be inherited but the data says otherwise. Studies have shown that in identical twins, separated at birth, there is a strong correlation in sexuality. In other words, if one twin is gay, there is a much higher chance that the other twin is also gay. This can only be explained by a strong genetic factor in sexuality.
If you're interested, here is a good summary of some of the key studies done: Twin Studies of Homosexuality I also recall that there was a paper about the discovery of a particular structure in the brain that is larger in gay men than in straight men - an indication that sexual orientation is biological (caution: heavy reading!) Sorry the link didn't work... but you can look up Simon LeVay, the neuroscientist who made the discovery. There is lots of material on the web about it.
