    I hate to be the bearer of bad news on my first post but I just heard:

    Gilbert Gottfried, comedian and actore, died today at age 50 of apparent heart failure.

    :(

    He was a funny guy. 50, wow, that hits home. I'll be 60 in two weeks.

    I remember coming out of a night spot around 10:00 on a Friday night after being there since 4:00 that afternoon. I was eating, dancing and yes drinking a bit. Leaving my friends behind for I was ready for something else I spyed upon Gilbert coming out of a Korean Grocery. Being who I was then, I went over to him and started talking to him in my Gilbert Gottfried impression. Gilbert then broke into a routine asking me if I was a tough guy who was going to beat him up, all he wanted was some food and now he is going to get beat up by the drunk, he should have called for take out but no etc.......Funny as hell.
    Now it really is no big deal bumbing into people in Manhattan but the thing of it was Gilbert was no act. That is how he actually talked and this was a Friday night and he was dressed in shorts, wearing a baseball hat and going home for the night, alone.
    Anyway, that was my brief story about Gilbert. I really liked his stuff and I am sorry that he is no longer with us.

    Good personal story there Andy. Celebs are just like real people aren't they. I met my share of them when I lived in L.A. They sometimes put up with a lot just to get a bag of groceries.

    Yeah, yeah. And William Hung died of a heroin overdose. You'd think they'd have the decency to lie down and stop moving.

    O.K. here is a question;
    What is AFLAC going to do now about their duck's voice, now that Gilbert has gone?

    Seems to pick up most of the well known celebrity deaths, and keep tabs on ones that are still alive but not much in the public spotlight anymore. Haven't heard of Gottfried's death here or anywhere else, but did hear Pat Morita died recently.

    If Gilbert is alive, I guess that makes this thread dead.
