I realize i am a new member and visit daily, but seldom make comments here. I just needed to talk for a minute as I really have no family here to stay past sunday. My wife fell down with a heart attack while I was sleeping.I heard a loud noise and rushed out of bed and was able to start CPR.This all happened 12:01 am Monday .She has been on a ventilator and they have tried to get her off of it twice. She knows where she is I think even though she can't speak with a tube down her throat. She will move her head to answer questions and she is able to follow commands.I went there yesterday they said she had somesort of infection and no one can goe into room without proper dress ie mask,gloves,ect... I never thought this would happen to her first.I know this is not the place to keep going on and on about ill health. I want to apologize to the moderators and thank them for letting me post this.

Heres alittle update,I walked in today and she was sitting on a chair and the ventilator was out.She was very weak and looked ok. I left to get something from my car and when I returned she was in distress. She is now back on the ventilator and they are saying she might need a tracheotmy(Ihope I spelled it)It just seems to be more involved. her Heart Doctor said they would go in and see whats going on and fix what they could, but this was based on what went on before the setback.I realize there is not much more anyone can say about this that has not already been said. So,I will leave it at that and know in my Heart your prayers will somehow be heard and she will pull through. If God could only give me strength also it would help.
    Thank you,
    Bruce

Her infection has cleared up and now are able to go into her room without mask,gloves,ect...She just has a problem with breathing once off of the ventilator. They said they may have to continue to wean her down ,but she is calm at first and then maybe fear from lack of normal breathing must put her into a panic... they just don.t have any other reason at least if I understand them right.

Draco, I hope she has a smooth recovery. It sounds like she has one really good thing going for her: a loving, concerned husband. Make those doctors take good care of her! and don't take no guff from no nurses!

    Keep us posted.
