Coins & Currency are my favorite , but I also collect old bottles (do alot of digging around old home sites w/permission) also collect early american war items (Civil War , Spanish American , etc.) and just about anything old that has good eye appeal . Historic items just get me I really don't know why , I guess it's the stories that go with them or the stories they can't tell us . It's the majic behind them if you will , after all these items were here long before some of us and made today what it is or better ! I also do a little drag racing from time to time .

Besides coin collecting; 3d Graphic Design (modeling, textures, rendering), photography, metal detecting, woodworking, fishing, and hiking. Woodworking would be higher on the list, but I don't have room to set up my woodshop here, maybe the next place (hopefully in October after I retire from the Air Force).

    Let's see...other hobbies....
Reading, backyard birding, yoga, wine tasting and various crafts such as cross stitch and crochet. Seems I'm bringing a little estrogen to the party :) I have a hard time picturing any of you guys crocheting or doing yoga...LOL

Wow Gary! Those are some great collections! Where on Earth do you store 77,000 National Geographic magazines? Also, I'm guessing your collection includes lots of the foreign additions. The original Mac is cool too! :)

The National Geographics are stored in my former classroom, which is the largest classroom in Delta County.

Technically, they are all still mine, but I would have no room to keep them at home, so I left them in my classroom when I retired. I have been told they are still there, and used by students.

I did bring enough home to attempt to build a private, complete collection. It will never happen, although I do have a fairly complete collection starting with 1938.

    :) :)

One other collection I forgot to mention, and it is relevent to coin collecting. I have every "Numismatist" issued since 1961.

The problem is they are scattered throughout the house --- in the garage, the storage room, under the stairs, in closets, on bookshelves. I wouldn't have the time or patience to locate them all --- but I do have them!

    :) :)
