Thinking Outside the Box

As I read the posts here on PRWE there is one thing I rarely see. It's people thinking outside the box.

We tend to "box" and "label" one another. Would that be a fair assessment? I think so.
I'm one of the "libs". I'm off my rocker. I agree with anything that any anti lib says I agree with because I've been labeled as one. I love abortion. I support terrorists. I drink Kool Aide.

Conservatives? Well, you're never wrong. Just ask you. God and Country! Doesn't matter how bad it gets for the common guy because you EARNED it. Therefore you are better.

I could go on but anyone with a sliver of brain should get my point on these two examples.

Now let's toss in the Independents. Many of us have voted that way in the past so just how "in the box" are we?

I have a tendency to respect what they say. It's a different angle as it were. Problem is we're a stinking two party system and I will NOT toss my vote away every election.

My point is we need a strong third or even fourth party. Screw the system we have now. It doesn't work.
Anyone else seeing this? I hear so much crap about Obama. I'll live with that but why is he there? Maybe because enough people were fed up enough to vote for him?

If he totally sucks after four years he'll lose. Most likely to a Republican. Now what if that guy totally sucks? Wash, rinse, repeat? This is our system at work folks. It hasn't worked very well for some time.

Just a bit of food for thought.

To think outside the box one must be intellectually honest with themselves. I do not see that.

You were all so upset at the cost of the war when W was pres, I can pull up threads to prove it. W belonged in jail for " ignoring the constitution" etc etc, blah blah blah

Yet, O quadruples the debt and deficit......perfectly ok and no mention from a lib

Yet, O stomps all over the constitution by firing those appointed without the 30 day waiting period required....nothing, blah blah blah

    Bush lied.........???
O: No new taxes for 95%....really? blah blah blah
O: pass this stimulus and unemployment will not hit 8%.....really?? blah blah blah
O: A nuclear Iran is unacceptable. Today?? it's all good...blah blah blah

Over again, hoodwinks, shysters and jives. Tricks, fooled yas, snookers. Blah Blah Blah. It is really pretty sickening if you are HONEST and think about.

The list of blah blah blah goes on and on and on. Perhaps those who think to think outside the box should just think in he box first. Apply the samw standards. BE HONEST and not a blind partisan. Go on the koolaide wagon for a week and do some research. Take of the blinders. Take out the nosering.

Heres another if anybody need reminding.

FOX ( Faux to libs) NEWS:

Reported W's deficit, nothing for todays O media, blah blah blah

Yet ABC stages an infomercial , O has a news conferance and gets caught with Huffington planted reporters, then a week later gets caught again.

    FOX is biased>

    Blah blah blah

It is silly if you think about it.

We heard all last week on FOX of the Sanford mistress....

Have we heard a freakin thing about John Conyers wife guilty of bribes on any network besides FOX? Nope.

Brian Williams bows to Obama. Matthews thinks he is God and has orgasms in his pants. Fox is biased?????

FOX is biased, lmao, this is too easy.:D

I used FOX because it rhymes with box

    Jack,

First I'd like to thank you for responing to the thread. Second I'd like to thank you for proving what the thread was about. You just ranted in your little box dude. HONESTLY you DID.

You are obviously well read Jack. I know this but what one reads and HOW one interprets it are different things. Is that a fair statement?

My point is we are all biased. Your "facts" and my "facts" are different. Hell, we've been agreeing on things lately. The move by Obama in Afghanistan being the most recent.

You took the gist of this thread and spun it. Nothing more but possibly less. You rail on about HONESTY and thinking IN the box before out. Got news for you bud thinking IN the box is what has led us to where we are. Decades of it and then some.

I can go back and pull up all sorts of crap and comparisons concerning George Bush and Dick Cheney if I want. Question is - what does it accomplish in the here and now? I despised both of them but do you see me going back to them on a regular basis for "ammunition"?

Of course not, it's the here and now that matters isn't it? Our country is in a mess because of repeated mistakes over decades. Both Republican and Democrat. This is thinking outside the box and I also like to refer to it as reality.

I gave "examples" of how people tend to think about Libs and "examples" of how Libs tend to think about Conservatives. I reckon I may have been biased with my wording and opinions but was just making a point.

You came in and turned it into a rant about HONESTY while you kept yourself in the box while defending the box. It's no wonder we're just sliding down hill as this happens EVERY DAY on both sides.

I think DeOrc really DID nail it with his original reply. This saddens me.

    Dont be sad Dan.

Have you missed my point about intellectual honesty with yourself? How can you possibly complain when W does one thing, then not complain when O does the same thing. That is my only point. Nothing more.

I have seen this over and over. When is the last time you have complained whrn you saw a liberal or a dem cross a line you dont like? You have not. Everything they do is ok with you, it " seems" you are a liner.... a follower.

If I am wrong, i will surely credit you and announce that I have mistaken or misenterped your thought.

I bash those repos relentlessly when wrong.
Can you say the same ?

    Fair is fair bud.

See ya, I'm working on the site and thought I would stop in and see what tonights thread brought up. This is a great site.

I can see all of us sitting at a bar drinking over a beer, or a poker table. Intelligent discussion is what happens here, none of us are dumb.

Many of us are just programmed different.

Let me ask this. Liberals. Are you born that way or is it a choice.

I think this piece sums it up....poor, poor put-upon clembo! I realize you fancy yourself as some sort of citizen philosopher with your rhetorical questions and rambling disertations but truth be told, you tend to be worse than your targets when it comes to close mindedness.
Most of us conservatives are common guys- I sure am...you know my background...raised on a farm, put myself through college working 2 & 3 jobs, etc. We believe we simply should have a say in how our money is to be spent and don't agree that politicians have all the answers for us.

I love your response David. Did you even really read the OP? You certainly didn't address it.

Now you have a new "label" for me. I'm a "citizen philosopher" with "rhetocical questions and rambling dissertations". Fine by me dude whatever floats your boat.

Of course this thread was not about just me anymore than it was just about you David. It was about everyone. I just commented on the fact that we hear and, yes, use the the same old comments and rhetoric on a daily basis. Doesn't matter which side of the fence you're on it's true. We are all guilty at some point.

Am I in a "box"? No doubt but not as much as you would think or accuse me of being.
It means more to me when Arizona Jack says it because I respect him David. I respect him because he does far more reading. If he wants to supply me with "information" about any Democrat or Republican I will take the time to read it. I may not agree with it but I will read it and form my own opinions. I may be a bit more out of the box than Jack thinks. Hearing this Jack? ;)

Unfortunately I don't have that respect for you. You just rehash the same basically. You constantly attack Libs and Obama and often with little backing. Many times your posts have very little, if anything, to do with the subject matter of the thread. Kind of like this one.
When you post a question if you do not get a flood of answers it's "see they can't answer". If I, or others, pose a question (a rhetorical question for example) you hem and haw or change the subject. Is this because you CAN'T or WON'T answer the question?
Example for you. Are you up for World War III? I know it's a tough question but really it only was one question but I guess I threw in too many variables because there are so many variables.
So you went in and started shooting off your mouth anyway. Then claiming there were too many question basically. In other words you won't answer the question(s). ANY of them. You ran away dude.

So today I get "poor, poor, put-upon clembo". Did it get under my skin? A little but I can guarantee you responding to such rubbish is quite satisfying. You never really addressed the OP but decided to take a pot shot at me. Says a lot about you David.

You see, I've noticed a pattern of yours since not long after the election ended. You disappear for a long time. Okay, many of us drop off the forum for a while.
Difference is when you come back you go on the attack and provoke mode. Troll like behaviour basically.
Then people start to fire back, you get mad take your ball and go away.

Meanwhile others here get into skirmishes and we are a small group. Whether or not I agree with these people I respect them for hanging in there. Sorry if I leave anyone off my list but those people are:
Arizona Jack, Craiga, Danr, Drusus. DeOrc, StuJoe (where's he been?), KLJ (when available), Vess1 and even Midas. I don't ever remember agreeing with Midas but he hangs in for sure.

I've also enjoyed discussions/skirmishes with HarryJ and Pepperoni.

I'd love to add more people to this list. Even you David.

One last thing before I forget. I know it's early but Happy Birthday!

Keeping tabs on me? If it makes you feel better, the reason I have "disappeared" is that, since school is out, we are spending more time on the farm (where there is no internet service), nothing sinister..no trolling or anonymous cruising. My kids enjoy the country & my wife is a teacher so she has summers off...the Blackberry keeps me in touch with work. Satisfied?

By the way, I say "no" to WWIII and when some people oppose what I think/feel/believe I take it as an affirmation.
Oh yeah, Happy Birthday back at you!

Ok, maybe I'll soften up a tad here. I just get tired of the " ok for one" but a "crime for another". Be honest, if you dislike something, you dislike it period. You do not allow exceptions or exemptions as to suit your argument.

Perhaps I should leave a note to self:
