It has a good bit of significance in the argument on abortion in my opinion.

Now I have a question. Aren't you giving life when that baby is concieved? And if an abortion takes place, aren't you taking life away? And if you are taking life away, aren't you killing? I could be way off, and if I am, I'm sure someone will correct me, and point me in the error of my logic, lol.

"13 Thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. 14 I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from Thee, when I was made in secret... 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect [i.e., embryo, fetus, not yet fully formed]; and in Thy Book all my members [limbs] were written, which in continuance [or, period of time] were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them [not yet fully formed]" (Psalm 139:13-16)

I'll bring the Bible into this argument now. It says right there that God recognized David, (the man that wrote that passage), as a human being, even though he wasn't full formed. Why shouldn't we? And if that's not suitable enough:

"41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: 42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the Fruit of thy womb. 43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my LORD should come to me? 44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy. 45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the LORD. 46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the LORD, 47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour" (Luke 1:41-47)

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee" (Isaiah 49:15)

We as men don't have the right to tell a woman what to do with her body, I agree. But it just isn't her body in the case of abortion. This is another human being. God's word is very descriptive, whether you believe it is the Word of God or not, you have to admit, it is very descriptive. If the child in the womb was not considered a human being, then the Bible would not refer to it as such.

If so, shouldn't we provide him with them lovingly, and not ridicule him for his beliefs man?

No, there is nothing wrong with ridiculing a person. I used to love the idea of judge making a person hold up a sign in public stating that they are a liar or a cheater on a street corner. That is what is wrong today, nobody wants to ridicule anybody anymore for fear of being labeled, when it is the person who needs to be ridiculed who should be feared of being labeled.

More Political Correctness crap that is ruining our society!

Ridiculing someone, and "ridiculing" them justly, and to get through to a person are two totally different things. And I don't believe the word "ridiculing" would be correct to use in the latter, as ridiculing means:

"language or behavior intended to mock or humiliate"

To get through to someone about something is something, but calling them names, and trying to humiliate them publicly is wrong (which, by that definition, is what ridiculing is, isn't it?).

    Precisely.

One of the favorite stories people like taking out of context in the Bible is the one of the people wanting to stone the adulteress. Jesus said, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." Most modern thinking leaves it at that. However, that's not the important part of the story. Jesus continued (speaking to the woman), "Since they won't condemn you, neither will I. Go, and sin no more. (italics mine) He named what she was doing for it was. Quite simply, the point of the story is that he got her to stop that particular sin without mocking or demeaning her. He taught her, and those self-righteous folks who thought wrongly that they were sinless.

    Jesus rocks!
