No, but exposing themselves on main street does. And yes, I have witnessed that as well. As digitally inept as I am, my wife heads up IT services at a major university. Her most brilliant technician is a transitioning person. All is fine except she now wears cat ears, a cat tail and roller skates to work each day which is just a tad distracting in high level meetings in her office, yet nobody will say anything. Now my wife happens to be quite blessed up top. If she began running meetings in a bikini top, that too would be quite distracting. Where do you draw the line at appropriate decorum?

 

I don't know, but I'm not going to condemn and police all trans people based on the actions of 1 weirdo any more than you should condemn and police women based on the theoretical actions of your wife. The logic doesn't follow.

But the point more directly is this….. We were told during the summer of love to overlook the behavior of these black youth because the businesses that were destroying were insured (puke)….. We are told to overlook the behavior of the gay/trans community because the community is so small and they are so downtrodden. Well that is all hullabaloo! We should all be held to a common community standard for a whole myriad of reasons but primarily because children are watching. I cannot for the life of me fathom why this is such of foreign concept. I cannot say it enough. Decorum matters.

You said your church music leader was gay and that that's fine with you. Great! However, it wasn't that long ago people were saying exactly what you're saying about trans people about gay people. They're the current convenient scapegoat, and I think it should be pretty obvious why that's wrong to participate in.

 

As long as all are held to the same public standard, I have no qualm with anyone. But they aren’t. Pot smokers can fog up downtown Denver but if I light a Marlboro, I am wrong. A trans woman can bare her store bought breasts on Main Street but if I show a testicle, I am wrong…… It goes on and on Gene, but my core argument remains unchanged. I am held to a different set of standards than these groups and it has been that way since these movements began. All should expect of themselves to show some degree of decorum in public. Not just straight white conservatives.

Going back to my post that began this debate. A modicum of decorum is all I ask of my representatives. I may be wrong but I believe our current treasury secretary is a gay man but he holds his personal standards to one befitting of the office. That’s all I would expect of anyone representing me and that is not unreasonable.

 

That’s not it at all. What it is, and you liberals will never admit to, is that enough is never enough.

Once you manage to cram the latest extreme behavior or the newest tax-subsidized program into the realm of social acceptability, you’re off to the races with some new extreme cause . . . Nonstop, it seems.

Whining and tugging at heartstrings, always serving an extreme minority at the expense of the vast majority. You want to serve that minority? . . . Start a club, charge dues, and dole them out!
