Wow. Haven't heard this one before... USDA accidentally fired officials working on bird flu and is now trying to rehire them
It's not the bosses doing the firing, it's DOGE "advisors" installed in every department to blanket cut probationary workers. https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2025/02/17/trump-fires-federal-workers-performance/
You don’t think that a person could dig up similar stories from the unceremoniously fired Keystone employees? Yes it is sad. It is always sad to see a person lose their work. It happens. And only a fool relies on the Fed for their lifeline.
I love how desperately the parasites are struggling to stop DOGE in its tracks. I’m sure they feel the walls closing in on their gravy train. The very lifeblood of their party - corruption and graft - being uprooted in DC. We are definitely seeing some collateral damage here and there, but we also see earnest attempts to correct that after the fact. I think we on the sidelines wish it had never come to this, but decades of complacency and even the outright invitation to sucking on the federal teat has pushed us over the edge. This is indeed more tolerable than continuing down the same path.
Easy to say from the sidelines. Thousands of people are losing their jobs for nothing. This won't even put a dent in the national debt. From what I can see, the goal is to collapse the government services they don't like and ultimately privatize those services. Why pay the government for something when you could just pay Musk instead? In addition to making no progress on the national debt (I confidently predict the debt will expand under Trump), you'll end up paying more for worse services. But hey, at least it's not the government.
I believe the goal is weeding out the chaff.... For years I had a postman that serviced my area that was a Boomer. He would come in, speak to everyone and pick up our outgoing mail. Occasionally would even bring in a treat for the dog. We looked forward to his arrival. He retired a year or so back and we now have a young woman that told us quite frankly that she would not be entering the building and we would have to bring our mail out to her. Me and the other two businesses in my little block spend our afternoons walking to each others business to trade out incorrect mail. The Fed has become a a haven for the grifters of the world. You can bet that Trump and Musk both know how to fill available positions with exceptional performers and they have my full support.
You know, explicit oligarchy typically doesn't work out for the masses, but I'm sure this time will be different. I also think your take on Trump's (in particular) hiring abilities is divorced from reality. His first term was infamous for being a revolving door of sycophants he backstabbed on the way out. Anthony Scaramucci was comms director for such a short time his name became a meme. "How many scaramucci's will the next guy last?"
Such a disappointing sad waste of Amoeba shape changing and an insult to the entire Protozoa community, via the word salad posted.
Scenario #1 Wife walks in the front door loaded down with bags from the department store. First words out of her mouth are, "Honey, you won't believe how much money I saved"..... No money was saved, it was spent. Credit card took a $1000.00 hit. This is liberal math. Scenario #2 Wife walks in the front door looking dejected with no bags...... No money was spent. No hit to the credit card. This is conservative math. Scenario #3 The shoes the wife bought in scenario #1 don't fit and are returned for a credit back to the credit card...... In the liberal world, these are grounds for a divorce. This is exactly how loony the current democrat rants are about Musk appear to the rest of us.
This fellow is without a doubt a Champion Pouter, and in the world of Pigeons, there is no equal. Great hair, though and can inflate his crop with the best of them.
Oh, I daresay you are much further from being on the playing field than we are, and who says we don’t feel some of the sacrifice being made? Reductions / delays in benefits / delivery? Disingenuous remark. This cutting of the fat has nothing to do with eliminating the debt . . . It’s about the deficit . . . about not incurring debt in the first place. We need a different solution for the debt, and I have just the thing . . . I just need an audience, and can’t seem to get one. Do me a favor . . . Call Trump and set it up, will you? As if Musk wants to have businesses in all of those mundane arenas . . . another thoughtless remark. Localizing control is the goal here. Parasites need to be accountable to us . . . proverbially, their necks within arm's reach. Under such conditions, fewer will try to steal Other People's Money. Another stupid remark . . . Assuming the presidency with a Trillion Dollars per year in debt service alone? No matter who was elected president in 2024 I'd be taking the same side of that bet as you. Stepping on the brake and bringing the car to a stop are two entirely different things.
Fine, I confidently predict the deficit will be in a worse place 4 years from now than it currently is. I did not mean Musk literally, rather just the Musk/Bezos/Zuckerberg types. Though I do think you underestimate what Musk himself wants to control. There's a reason he's been trying to rebrand Twitter as "X, the everything app"
Seems like a weird thing for the official White House account to post... can you imagine if Biden or Obama did this?
Wow, you've got the propensity for stating the obvious, at least some of the time. Guaranteed the debt will be higher. POTUS Trump actually TOLD us that. He's campaigning Congress to raise the debt ceiling. So your prognostication is genius Your blindness to stopping the graft is mind numbing. The amount of abuse and fraud is monumental. Notice I don't even call it waste. It's absolutely criminal what USAID has done through NGO's with taxpayer funds. And what the Musketeers are finding in virtually every ABC agency is no better. Yeah, there's going to be some collateral damage that I'll concede. However, the amount of savings DOGE is finding could potentially put SS retirement benefits back into solvency. Sucks for the few good guys caught by shrapnel, but if our hero service men and women are willing to put their lives on the line for the good of the many, then these other government employees can consider themselves hero's too.
My exact first thought upon reading the usual blahblah silliness concerning the majority of his comments. I even mentally uttered the word "wow", which I never audibly use. Good job. Capitalism....explain how debt does not grow via application of interest on borrowing. He can not possibly be that far psychically removed from basic monetary reality. Even in his present physical location he experiences it every damn day. It is the 4000 year old Key Money system, and is still practiced with an Abacus. Truth. The only explanation for the daily "wow" bombs he professes, is his dedication to the Ideology of Division.
It is clear you are not a New Yorker (and most definitely not from the Brooklyn area), or you would understand the satire of the remark and how it is on-target applicable. No, I can not imagine President Obama or President Biden using the term in that manner, because they are not New Yorkers. An equality of term would be President Obama mentioning Chicago as the White City and Al Capone as the Devil in the White City. Would you understand the historical reference, or would you interpret that Chicago is a White Racist city of evil Italian/white guys? I suspect you would definitely attribute a racist interpretation to the remark. You would be wrong, because if you were from Chicago, you would know that it is referring to the construction of the 1893 Worlds Fair and all the buildings being painted white. There was a very good reason for that, and I refer you to the wonderful book titled "Devil In The White City". The incredible historical information you will learn by reading the book will be a bonus, such as the Engineer Ferris and the steel structure that outshined the Eiffel, and the Killer Holmes, and on and on. I submit...humbly of course...I know stuff and am cursed with remembering what I know. Thus my conclusion that you are a failed Amoeba that will never change shape of expand, and is why you are constantly annoying.
Oh, come on @charley! I submit that the primary difference between conservatives and liberals is the extent to which they will be held accountable. Regarding finances, Conservatives abhor debt, will avoid it until there is no other option, and will work the skin off their bones to pay it off rather than see it grow larger. Liberals seem to encourage borrowing because they have no reservations about simply walking away from debt, leaving others to clean up their messes.
