So on your criteria, I suppose Biden had one of the strongest mandates in history last time? I'm not big on the electoral vote count being indicative here either, though you've tried it before. You could win 538-0 by a popular vote margin of 53 votes. Would that be a stronger mandate than you think Trump has now?
Red states too. Which was an interesting caveat of this election. There were so many split ticket voters, where the split was "protect abortion but still vote republican"
I'm not saying that other presidents didn't have mandates, too. I'm saying that President Trump definitely has a mandate.
So basically anyone who wins does? I guess at face value, I'll take it. It's a largely meaningless term anyway.
For the umpteenth time . . . Abortion isn’t a federal issue. The electorate is now more than half way to realizing how badly it’s been manipulated with that issue to the advantage of liberal politicians. Next presidential cycle it will be all but dead, and the Democrat Party with it.
Yes I meant even on the state level abortion bans were largely rejected and protections enshrined in states that otherwise voted red (even for non-federal positions). Which either implies abortion is secretly quite popular, or people voting red don't understand the positions of the candidates they're voting for. I'd wager it's a bit of both.
Only boys can be daddys...only girls can be mommies.....dadumdedumdedumdum, dadidydadedaaaadaaaa. Signed: MR. ROGERS
I don't believe in it really. A candidate either won or they didn't. Trump won this time. "Mandate" is just a buzzword tossed around by the winning party every election to try to crown themselves some sort of super win.
It's not secret - poll after poll shows a large majority of people supports abortion. The real debate isn't on abortion - it is about the limitations placed upon it. So tell why doesn't the Red State voting pattern you described above imply the majority of people voting red are satisfied with the limitations on abortion imposed by their State.
Because they keep voting to protect abortion from their or strike down proposed bans on abortion by Republicans in those states.
Yeah, because there was no Mandate BS under the Biden Administration, or CDC or HHS, or DOD or Homeland Security, or the Education Dept., or Homeland Security, or Dept/ of Justice, or NIH, or.....well, I'm a little tired now of listing stuff for the Marxist Socialist Clown to help him understand. He knows but enjoys posing for PITA points. It is a sexual gratification thing, like Trumpterbation was with he who brought forth GW, by boinking somebody (that is inhumane, I think).
Now I am confused. Which Red States, post Dobbs, are you referring to? The ones where abortion protections, as you want to call it, has been settled and the limitations placed upon it have been enshrined into State law or the Red States where the issue has not yet been settled? Either way you slice it - it really will not matter much on a national level 4 years from now. Because in that timeframe most States will have settled the issue. Do people living in California, New York or ect. really give that much of a crap about abortion protections for the people living in Mississippi, Arkansas or ect.?
You’re absolutely right, Charley. After briben was “elected”, all the dumbocrats could do was screech “MANDATE”. But, now that the shoe is on the other foot, they’re inexplicably silent. File this under the “things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm”.
