Fox News stars and executives privately trashed Trump’s election fraud claims, court document reveals

The most prominent stars and highest-ranking executives at Fox News privately ridiculed claims of election fraud in the 2020 election, despite the right-wing channel allowing lies about the presidential contest to be promoted on its air, damning messages contained in a Thursday court filing revealed.

The messages, included in a legal filing as part of Dominion Voting System’s $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News, showed that Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity, and Laura Ingraham brutally mocked lies being pushed by former President Donald Trump’s camp asserting that the election was rigged.

In one set of messages revealed in the court filing, Carlson texted Ingraham, saying that Sidney Powell, an attorney who was representing the Trump campaign, was “lying” and that he had “caught her” doing so. Ingraham responded, “Sidney is a complete nut. No one will work with her. Ditto with Rudy [Giuliani].”

The messages also revealed that Rupert Murdoch, the chairman of Fox Corporation, did not believe Trump’s election lies and even floated the idea of having Carlson, Hannity, and Ingraham appear together in prime time to declare Joe Biden as the rightful winner of the election.

Such an act, Murdoch said, “Would go a long way to stop the Trump myth that the election stolen.”

The court document offered the most vivid picture to date of the chaos that transpired behind the scenes at Fox News after Trump lost the election and viewers rebelled against the right-wing channel for accurately calling the contest in Biden’s favor.

Dominion filed its mammoth lawsuit against Fox News in March 2021, alleging that during the 2020 presidential election the talk network “recklessly disregarded the truth” and pushed various pro-Donald Trump conspiracy theories about the election technology company because “the lies were good for Fox’s business.”

It's pretty amazing that liberals will hold up higher those mainstream network news programs which lie more than does Fox News. After all, Fox News at least tends to bring on speakers from both sides of the aisle, and let them have their say.

As for the author's coverage of conspiratorial politics, yeah, he does cover that subject rather well. Just as well as liberals have taught conservatives that conspiracy theories are worth believing in . . . The boy that cried wolf and all that.

There is video proof and sworn testimony that voter fraud occurred. The massive vote for Trump would have probably offset any of that fraud. It is now believer that the democrats won the election because of VOTE HARVESTING. It is not something the Republicans have done to any extent. VOTE HARVESTING is perfectly LEGAL in a large number of states.

In the future, the ONLY WAY to have a fair election is ONE DAY TO VOTE with ID. If you cannot make it Tough Apples. Use a mail in ballot like the military. Like the old days, we would know the winner no later than the very early hours of the next day. Taking a week to get the results is a democrat trick.

When Trump won the White House, I suspect the call to arms went out to all opposing party members that this can never happen again. Why did the courts refuse to take up the law suits? Consider the implications of overturning the election and the world view of same. Will an investigation ever be conducted? NO!!!
Do I honestly believe in a stolen 2020 election? YES!!!

 

We may never know if the election was stolen from him in the strictest sense, but it was certainly stolen from him insofar as there was collusion between liberals, the FBI and the media to suppress information that would have swayed the electorate. Those facts are indisputable.

 

I have to agree. There is damning information on that laptop and the DOJ putting a clamp on any public information until after election results is about the most crooked thing I have ever seen from our Fed. And yes, it absolutely does scream of fraud.

The correspondence reveals that the network’s senior-most executives and highest-profile hosts chose not to disclose what they believed to be the truth of the election out of fear that that the facts would alienate Fox News’ audience and throw the highly profitable business into ruin.

The messages were contained in a stunning legal filing made public on Thursday as part of Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox News, showing the network’s executives and talk hosts privately trashing lies pushed by former President Donald Trump’s camp and his supporters asserting the 2020 election was rigged.

But, despite privately acknowledging the realiity of the situation, the network allowed the lies to take hold on its air, in large part because executives and hosts were terrified that telling its sizable audience the truth would prompt them to tune out.

Get the log out of your eye. The Republicans are rookies in the lying department! I'm glad this is coming out. It shows the difference between how the fake news treats Republicans vs democrats.
