Nazi DeSantis going after student medical records. Can you say HIPPA?

    Robert Ransom Cautiously optomistic.

Consider the legacy which the younger "what about me?" generations will pass on to their progeny. Introspection is not something taught to them by their parents or educators. Wokism and its tentacles are creating more division within our society and confusing the youth of this country with sexual identity.

Your concerns are falling on deaf ears. Division is the goal that the liberals are pushing for. They believe it is necessary to tear down society in order to rebuild it in their fantasy-land utopian vision. These people and their ideals are the most dangerous things facing the world today.

What is your experience with therapists?

There's no misconception on my part. I am currently bringing an eight year old girl to county dictated therapy on a weekly basis and have been on and off for over a year in my role as foster parent. We have gone through five different therapists for varying reasons. Do you think that all therapists do things the same? Do you think that their techniques may vary depending on the age and circumstances?

Were it not for the county having "custody" of this girl and dictating what happens, we would have stopped bringing her to any of these people long ago and let our rearing do the job that nobody else in her life was capable of to this point.

Plenty of personal experience with several different ones. To that end, you have a point, they're not all exactly the same. I've had therapists who I'm better with and some that weren't as good with me. The techniques are all roughly the same, but the demeanor of the therapist changes. Personally I do best with ones that challenge me and call me out, but some people prefer the type that are slower and more compassionate on the surface.
Definitely the approach changes, but the idea and principles of cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt) are pretty similar across situations/therapists.

 You ignorant little poster. There is genuine Black History which is a part of our nation's history that is vital to know IN ALL ITS DETAILS; and there is the made up crap you and my enemies profess like the democrats 1690 BS and Kwanza. I don't want liberal, progressive people of any race who wish to tear down the American System, culture, traditions, and way of life by teaching kids they got a raw deal and Amercca is bad to have a say about anything. We need a purge. o_O

Great point! What is the ACTUAL politically motivated justification for not requiring a photo ID to vote? Now does this get a Great Post from you?

There's no free healthcare in college, though there really should be.o_O  [Perhaps you belong in Cuba you young Commie] Students pay for those services. It's not cheaper to go to the school doctor than to a 3rd party clinic, so the financial risk makes no sense.

As for the rest, why are you opposed to healthcare? If I break an arm, the doctors could set it wrong, why are schools funding me going to the doctor to treat it? There's always risks, healthcare isn't perfect. As for dealing with emotions, what's wrong with treating emotions in a healthcare setting? Have you really never been to a psychologist or psychiatrist?" [As for emotions, the snowflake liberal crybabies would overload and shut down the entire system. They are already been so confused that males think they are females and females think they are men. Many think they are both and some don't knw what to think. A large number of our fellow Americans are as useless as cold peanut butter.]

Healthcare is a good thing. UNFORTUNATELY, NO WHERE IN THE CONSTITUTION OF OUR COUNTRY IS HEALTCARE MENTIONED.

GeneWright, posted: "Gender affirming care is." What a bunch of sick, ignorant BS from the pie hole of a young man (?).

    Our young friend continued:
"Why not? Literally everyone can benefit from it." Unfortunately, I may have to agree with you on this point. While I only knew one person in my entire life that went to therapy (for 14 years) I believe most of the young in this nation (that you seem to be a part of by your posts) would benifit from being "put straight." :D

Besides, much of mental healthcare can be about building positive traits in yourself like empathy and more broadly thinking about how your actions impact others."

This should be the definition of liberal socialist CRAP in the snowflake dictionary! Liberals love to TALK ABOUT "taking care of people." AKA: CONTROL, CARING. The young man does realise that his actions impact others. Unfortunately, they make me vomit! :(

PS I really hope the helop you are receiving gets you to love yourself as much as I LOVE YOU gene. XXOO

As for the cited study, if that isn't the fox guarding the hen house, I don't know what is . . . A less self-serving perspective.

I said nothing of "what qualifies". I indicated it is not their right to impose those costs upon others. That is indisputable. My position on other treatments for non-life-threatening conditions is similar

No, most of them are not . . . baldness (not) , obesity (not, although counseling and guidance is), big noses (not), rotten / missing teeth (not), high-water pants (shortening legs is not, unless one leg is more than 2 inches longer than the other), crossed-eyes (partially covered), acne (mostly not), big ears (not), etc.

Maybe the times are a changin' to the point that I've fallen a little bit behind (just a little, mind you), but they should not be, as such a trend is not sustainable.

America presently is suffering the fallout of many very bad ideas, distinctly the brain-children of extreme American Progressivism. The pendulum will most assuredly swing the other way . . . just how soon and how fast depends on how many more people become disenchanted than presently are.

I am surprised, after all Mother Nature has ensured that innumerable genetic combinations define all of us individually, and the inherent differences practically guarantee no two of us are the same (identical twins excepted).

These kids need to be taught to ignore mean-spirited comments, and to not engage on venues where they may expect comments to manifest which they will not receive well. I know your generation isn't big on ignoring what others think, but it's important to recognize its legitimacy.

Priority one should be getting comfortable in one's own skin
    . . . not finding a new skin.

Going back to the title of this thread, have there been any violations of HIPAA (the correct spelling, not “HIPPA”, btw)?

If, as posted by @JoeNation, "DeSantis asked to see anonymized information . . . ", it does not appear that there has been a HIPAA violation.

Most probably do not know Desantis' legal work history, and are unaware of how extensively he likely investigated his ability to legally procure this information, and in what form. That almost certainly points to his request to have it provided in anonymized form.

You should know never to ask an ignorant copier of "spun" news stories that blow something out of proportion due to liberal bias to answer a question. All they know about anything is how to copy/paste, scratch their butt and dodge, duck, and ignore requests for further engagement. It would be like trying to have a chess game with a monkey. It must be a very sad state to live with.

Democrats love HIPPA. Ever wonder how many deaths Dems caused with it? Was the plan to get guns in the hands of the mentally ill in order to get guns outlawed?

No thanks. Only an ignorant PU liberal girlie-man
would think they are intitled to ask a question and have it answered when they ignore any question they are asked.

    Some examples:

How many times did you leave the Ivy Inn with a new friend?

    Is Joe Biden a liar?
