Idaho police on Saturday arrested 31 members of the Patriot Front hate group who planned to “riot” at a Pride event in downtown Coeur d’Alene, officials announced.

Members of the group — who all appeared to be white men — were crammed into a U-Haul truck and were discovered when it was pulled over by police who had received a tip from a “concerned citizen.”


The tipster saw the members of the white supremacist organization — which “looked like a little army” – loading into the truck with masks and shields, according to officials. Police also found shin guards, at least one smoke bomb, and what was described as an “operations plan,” which officials declined to detail. They wore arm bands and hat patches saying “Patriot Front,” according to police.

The members were nabbed close to an area where a Coeur d’Alene LGBTQ Pride event was taking place. Photos and video from the scene when they were arrested show the members dressed almost identically in khakis, navy blue shirts, beige hats, and a white cloth covering their faces. Some of the T-shirts included slogans, such as “Reclaim America.”

“They came to riot downtown,” Coeur d’Alene Police Chief Lee White said at a news conference (see the video up top). All have been charged with conspiracy to riot.

White said police had received information for days that there were plans by various right-wing extremists to disrupt Pride events in town. Consequently, there was a strong police contingent on duty, and the arrests were made without incident, he said. He thanked the “extremely astute citizen” who alerted police about the men.

White said he personally did not see firearms, but the search was just beginning, including at a hotel where the men were staying. He also said local police officials were in contact with the FBI “all day.”

Based on material collected from the truck, the men planned to riot in a number of locations, according to police.

“It appears they did not come here to engage in peaceful events,” Kootenai County Sheriff Robert Norris, told the Coeur d’Alene Press.

The North Idaho News later Saturday listed the names of 18 of those arrested following an interview with White after processing. They’re being held in the Kootenai County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court on Monday.

Norris emphasized at the news conference that information was only preliminary, and that an investigation was continuing into any other possible activities the group may have been plotting.

Those arrested came from at least 11 states: Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Colorado, South Dakota, Illinois, Wyoming, Virginia and Arkansas.

I certainly don’t agree with this crew of misfits, however, I will point out that it is just a hard right version of BLM and ANTIFA, which you did not object to . . . big yawn.

Please keep up the good work- we cannot know everything by ourselves. Too much going on.

There are enemies of our nation on both sides. They are the extremists. They are against ALL members of PL. That is why I asked you if you read "Rules for Radicals." Our Founding Fathers were radicals also. Nevertheless, they established a Nation with a Constitution of Rights that served as a model for the world. We were not a perfect country then, have never been, and are not now. Nevertheless, IMO we were the best there ever was - until our downfall brought about mostly by internal forces beginning with the rejection of a higher power all religion's believe in. Our country was founded with a firm belief and reliance on a Higher Power we call God. By turning away from Him as the leaders of our country have done in recent decades - we are doomed to the destruction of the former "American Way" which we are doing now. We have not seen the worst yet - not even close to what is going to happen TO ALL OF US if we are still alive.

 

I object to anyone trying to start a riot, especially white supremacists. I can at least sympathize with people trying to bring justice to policing. If there was an actual equivalency to be drawn here, it certainly would be well beyond the aims of each group. Justice for people murdered by policemen vs the idea that white people are superior to people of color doesn't really make your comparison all that equivalent, but it does show what you care more about. As far as ANIFA goes, not even on the radar. Really just a loosely associated idea that Fascism is sort of a bad direction for this country to go in. Again, says way more about your priorities than it says about any real comparable characteristic of each group.

Let me make it simple for you: White Supremacy BAD! Fascism BAD! Social justice GOOD!

You have been accused of accepting the beliefs, and intentions, and actions of both BLM and ANTIFA.

WELL DO YOU? Simple question simple answer. What is your problem? Are you hiding something, are you embarrassed about something? Dealing with you in a meaningful way is like trying to catch the scent of manure in a moist fog!

I have never figured out though...... Why don't all lives matter?

 

What I can't figure out is if all lives matter, why is it that black lives don't? Aren't black lives a subset of all lives? Therefore, if you believe that all lives matter, you have to of course believe that black lives matter....even if you can't seem to say it for some reason.

 

They do, but white people aren't being disproportionately killed by police. Which is what it's really about.

I've also heard the analogy that saying "all lives matter" is like going to a fundraiser for breast cancer and pointing out to everyone there that: "actually all cancers are important, so we shouldn't do anything to raise awareness about breast cancer specifically because all cancers matter." Which, yes others are important too, but we're talking about this other thing right now.

 

Or if your wife asks you if you love her and you reply that you love everybody. Goes over real well I'd bet.
