Well, maybe not in those exact words but there is this:

George Washington mandated inoculation against small pox.

The Supreme Court has ruled state vaccine mandates to be constitutional for more than a century.

We've had vaccine mandates, including for things like attending public schools, for generations.

    Grow the hell up.

Looking at this from the only the point of view of : Is a Federal vaccine mandate constitutional? States powers are different. There is no precedent for a Federal mandate on vaccines that has been supported by SCOTUS (that I know of). I’m sure this will be a test.

Let's get to the bottom of the bogus Mueller Investigation...then we can talk about vaccinations.

I'm fine with people having the option of either getting vaccinated or being tested weekly to retain their jobs at large employers, as long as they don't have to pay for whichever option they choose.

and charging more for insurance for people who don't get vaccinated. that's very fair.

    Little Joe, Little Joe,

I turn on the computer and check this site for the usual dose of your pleasantness just now, and what do I read? Fantasy Spouting and a Tantrum, by you.

it brings a sigh to my soul to have to constantly have to help you with your coloring book.

There is only ONE vaccine approved by FDA. POTUS can not mandate anything concerning inoculation that is not within the Federal powers granted by the Constitution and laws.

General Washington's Mandate was not a SCOTUS case.. .Sheesh.
    Let me help you understand:

General Washington's "Order" was issued on6 January, 1777.
SCOTUS was not established until 4 March, 1789....by POTUS Washington.

Now, in the spirit of Paul Harvey, the rest of the story:

Washington's actions were a Policy of his own making and a hell of a gamble.
He ordered Dr. Shippen Jr. to inoculate to Forces passing thru Philadelphia.
There existed at the time, a widespread fear of the potential of contamination via the process.
This "fear" was in no small part due to the Cotton Mather experience, going back to 1720 (lookitup).

Because of this longstanding "fear", the Continental Congress in 1776 issued a Proclamation that surgeons of the Army were PROHIBITED to inoculate.

General Washington's next step was to write to Congress, informing them of his Plan, and at the same time ordered his Officers to COVERTLY oversee mass inoculation of the Troops, following the model of Dr. Shippen's Hospital....Dr. Shippen Jr. (it should be noted that Dr. Shippen Jr. was forced to resign by Dr. Rush...I pray you know who he was).

General Washington's gamble paid off. he was fortunate. BUT, You know what he didn't do? Inoculate the Native American Population.

    You are welcome, Little Joe.

TC and I sometimes agree. This is one of those times.

    Not totally though.:(

Vaccines are free. Testing could become expensive. If those costs become prohibitive it should fall on the employee.

I'm not fine with that. Who is an unvaccinated person harming but themselves?

they cost us all money in medical expenses. also people with other legitimate medical needs don't get care.
hard to believe this needs to be explained.

What about all the people who weren't getting care during the lockdown? What you're really upset with is compulsory medical insurance. Medical costs would fall precipitously if the government would just stay out of it. They just inflate prices for the AMA...the largest U.S. trade union. Medical insurance only degrades medical care while increasing costs. How many drug commercials did you see on TV before Obama took office? Medical care in America is out of control.

As long as people are free to opt out of insurance, I have not problem with that.

Vaccines are not free. That's money already spent by the government, but spent nonetheless.

If the government (The American People) is forcing individuals to choose one or the other, the government (again, The American People) must pay for whichever choice satisfies its requirements.

If The American People disagree with the President's mandate, they should make their displeasure known.

I'm fine with the testing alternative which, absent 100% vaccinations, essentially monitors the workplace for signs that the virus is making inroads. Early warning is better than no warning at all.

What I'm not okay with is the cost of the testing being born by the employee or the employer.

I'm not fine with that at all. The vaccinations don't deactivate the virus, they simply ameliorates the body's harsh response. Vaccinated people carry the same viral load as an unvaccinated person. I'm done with political management of healthcare.

It really comes down to caring about your country, your fellow Americans, including children, elderly, people that are imnocompromised patients, doctors, nurses, and first responders. Republicans only care about themselves obviously. Otherwise, we see a unified response to a once in a 100 year pandemic. It comes down to plain old selfish self-interest.
