No surprise here, but this pervert who sent naked pictures of himself to a child and enticed the child to send naked pictures to him, has pleaded guilty.

Twenty-one to 27 months in prison is not enough for this sack of shit. But, at least he won't be running for Mayor of New York City again nor will he be reading top-secret classified material that Hillary Clinton sent to his laptop computer.

Oh, how the mighty have fallen...

Weiner Pleads Guilty in Sexting Scandal

A tearful former Rep. Anthony Weiner pleaded guilty Friday to sexting a minor, apologizing in court to the teenaged victim and blaming his own "destructive impulses" for the prison time that now awaits him.

The New York federal judge accepted Weiner's admission to sending sexually explcit texts to a minor across state lines, and Weiner agreed to not appeal any sentence between 21 and 27 months in prison. He also must register as a sex offender.

"I have compulsively sought attention from women who contacted me on social media, and I engaged with many of them in both sexual and non-sexual conversation," Weiner said in a prepared statement. "These destructive impulses brought great devastation to my family and friends, and destroyed my life's dream of public service.

"I remained in denial even as the world around me fell apart," he added.

In the statement, Weiner apologized to his family and the teenager and said he had come to grips with his twisted compulsions.

"I have a sickness, but I do not have an excuse," Weiner said.

The FBI began investigating Weiner in September after a 15-year-old North Carolina girl told a tabloid news site that she and the former politician had exchanged lewd messages for several months.

She also accused him of asking her to undress on camera.

The New York Times first reported that the former New York Democratic congressman would enter the plea Friday in Manhattan.

The plea covers conduct from January to March of 2016. The charge reportedly carries a potential sentence ranging up to 10 years in prison – though the former congressman also could avoid prison entirely.

The outspoken politician resigned from Congress in 2011 after an errant tweet ended up exposing his sexting habits. He later mounted an unsuccessful run for New York City mayor.

But the scandal, first reported by the Daily Mail, exposed that he had been sending explicit messages to a minor, the controversy took a turn into criminal territory.

The investigation infamously intersected last year with the 2016 presidential campaign, when agents seized devices and found emails between Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin, Weiner's estranged wife and a top Clinton adviser.

This discovery led the FBI to revisit the case of Clinton’s personal email use as secretary of state – while the case was again shuttered, Clinton has since cited that development as contributing to her defeat.

    IQless1 trump supporters are scum

Weiner is an asshat, and is getting what he deserves. He can't control his sexual urges, and he should seek counseling while serving time.

How soon before trump serves his time?

Newt Gingrich. Boffing the next whilst still married to the soon to be previous. And his current one, a Catholic - nominated for ambassador to the Vatican.

Sexual perversion is not an exclusive domain of the flipping liberals, lately it has been the "family values" republicrappers that have been getting into trouble.

Trump and B. Clinton both have perversion as an affliction, sure Bill was thinking and probably saying the same "grab her by the *****" comments that the Donald did - Trump was just stupid enough to have gotten taped.

Anthony Weiner was stupid enough to send his pics to a CHILD! And then ask that child for pics! That's light years beyond Bill Clinton raping an adult or Donald Trump's errant comment. Messing with a child is the worst of the worst and Weiner deserves to rot in prison. I hope that the child's parents sue Anthony Weiner for everything he owns or will ever own.

    16 years old

In North Carolina, the age of consent for sexual intercourse is 16 years old. However, there are some notable exceptions. School Teacher: An employee of a school cannot have any sexual activity with any student at that school, unless they are married.

Report: Girl in Weiner sexting case lied to damage Clinton
    BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 05/22/17 08:37 AM EDT 630

The teenage girl who had exchanged inappropriate text messages with former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) lied about her age and political motivations to harm Hillary Clinton, according to a report by the investigative news site WhoWhatWhy.

In a report published Monday, the web site said the girl who exchanged the messages with Weiner was closer to 17 and not 15, as initial reports said. That also puts her above the age of consent in North Carolina.

In addition, she and her family were also not Clinton supporters, as the girl claimed in a letter published by BuzzFeed, according to social media posts unearthed by the website. The report also says the girl initiated the contact with Weiner, and then sought advice from a GOP figure behind "prior efforts to harm Weiner and other Democrats."

The website suggests this could mean that Weiner was the target of a politically motivated plot.

“Seeing that Weiner is both a repeat offender — his sexting addiction cost him his job in Congress as well as a shot at becoming mayor of New York — and associated with one of the most important people in Clinton’s inner circle, it is conceivable that this was a set-up from the beginning, with the objective of embarrassing the Clinton campaign,” the WhoWhatWhy report reads.

The investigation of Weiner and his accuser led the FBI to announce just weeks before Election Day that it was again looking at Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's emails. It did so because it had found a series of emails from Weiner to his then-estanged wife, Huma Abedin, an aide to Clinton.

Clinton lost the election and many in her camp have blamed the FBI and its then-director, James Comey.

Weiner last week pled guilty to a charge of distributing obscene material to a minor, which carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

WhoWhatWhy is a non-profit investigative reporting site that describes itself as a "forensic journalism" that looks to "unearth the facts interested parties want hidden." Its editor-in-chief and CEO is Russ Baker, who has written for The New York Times, The New Yorker and The Washington Post.

The WhoWhatWhy report, citing a court record, says the girl was just shy of 17 when she approached Weiner, and not 15 as The Daily Mail cited when it initially broke the story.

It argues that this "lie" seems "clearly designed to to produce the maximum public outrage and put Weiner in greater legal jeopardy."

WhoWhatWhy cites a number of social media messages and photographs to argue that the victim was from a Republican-friendly family, and that this suggests a political trick may have been in play.

It says that the victim celebrated Trump's victory on social media, that her father is a registered Republican and that her mother tweeted derisively about the Black Lives Matter movement.

The report also added that Chuck Johnson, a conservative writer, was one of the individuals who connected the girl to The Daily Mail.

“It’s not yet clear whether the motive was primarily money, a plot to smear Clinton, or both,” the report notes.
