Trump Now Censoring Certain Words And Phrases – Straight From Orwell’s 1984

President Donald Trump is engaging in tactics that are suspiciously similar to the fictional government in the classic novel 1984, in which an authoritarian government controls every aspect of the things people do and say.

New reports out of Washington D.C. show that the Trump administration has directed Energy Department staff not to use certain words relating to climate change, including the phrase “climate change” itself. Journalists obtained internal administration memos that laid out the new rules.

    Politico reports:

A supervisor at the Energy Department’s international climate office told staff this week not to use the phrases “climate change,” “emissions reduction” or “Paris Agreement” in written memos, briefings or other written communication, sources have told POLITICO.

Employees of DOE’s Office of International Climate and Clean Energy learned of the ban at a meeting Tuesday, the same day President Donald Trump signed an executive order at EPA headquarters to reverse most of former President Barack Obama’s climate regulatory initiatives. Officials at the State Department and in other DOE offices said they had not been given a banned words list, but they had started avoiding climate-related terms in their memos and briefings given the new administration’s direction on climate change.

I thought the Department of Energy was part of the US Government as opposed to a group of private citizens. The classic novel 1984, depicts an authoritarian government that controls every aspect of the things private citizens do and say. Trump's directive is for the purpose of controlling the government not the citizenship. This is a political discussion board so most that read and post here will not fall for this purposefully twisted analogy. If you are unable to differentiate between the two - there is no purpose in taking this any further.

You are imploding, Clueless. This comparison has been proven false, taken at different times of day.
Maybe you should read more and post silly pictures less.

The republicans always accuse others for political reasons. Clinton was vilified because she was a threat...she was the presumed nominee in 2016 so they hurled baseless accusation after baseless accusation at her until their base got riled enough to join in and settle on something. In this case, Benghazi was the final straw that rallied their base to that frenzied state of the witch-hunt. It didn't matter that nothing ever came of it legally, because the goal had always been to harm her character and lessen her chances of winning in 2016.

Now, trump is facing an onslaught of evidence linking his campaign, transition and administration to Russian intelligence efforts to sway the 2016 election in his favor, so he tosses out an empty accusation and see if it sticks. When that doesn't work, he throws out another, and another, until once again HIS base responds and starts another witch-hunt.

The differences is evidence and motive. republicans lack the evidence, but they don't care, they'll accuse people anyway, but they only accuse Democrats, never themselves.....where Democrats do their homework and document the evidence necessary to put a guilty party, whether they are republican or Democrat, in prison.

Go ahead and substantiate your assertion that the "comparison has been proven false." The photos may not have been taken at precisely the same time of day, but for purposes of comparison of crowd size the time of day was equivalent (there was a difference of approximately 20 minutes in the Reuters photos). The Trump crowd photo was taken at the moment he was being sworn in, while the Obama crowd photo was taken as he delivered his inaugural address. Do you actually believe that Trump supporters didn't bother to get to the Mall until after he'd been sworn in? Do you think that thousands and thousands of them appeared in a matter of twenty minutes, having waited until after he'd been sworn in? If you believe that actually happened, why are there no photos of this supposedly greatly increased crowd? Maybe somewhere on the slopes of Bullshit Mountain you can find a bozo proclaiming lies about this; that should be entertaining.

Unsubstantiated claim: Something that happens when a so-called conservative republican fails to remain silent. See: Liar.
