My old man was a big time Barry Goldwater man. Course he also voted a split ticket on many occasions when it came to the man or the individual issues...

 

Oddly enough, in the 1980 presidential election, PATCO, the Teamsters and several other AFL-CIO unions departed from their usual practice of backing Democrats by endorsing Ronald Reagan. On August 5, 1981 following their refusal, Reagan fired the 11,359 striking air traffic controllers who had ignored the order, and permanently banned them from federal service. Do you think unions ever backed a Republican again?

 

Which is proof of statement, "Be careful what ask for, might get it!" At same time Reagan was mouthing off about crackdown by Jaruszelskyi in Poland against Solidarity Trade Union led by Lech Walesa.

Well, this thread was an attempt to bridge the gap between Conservatives and Hillary Clinton. I just wanted to show them all that Hillary had those Republican roots. I would be willing to bet that she gets the same treatment her husband got from the Right if she gets elected. Irrational hatred of the person after all is more important than the welfare of the country. I'm just at the point that I don't care who gets elected next time as long as their last name isn't spelled B-U-S-H.
