Zogby Poll, Bush 34% vs. Dem Congress 14%

This is a just sad. President Bush has a double digit lead (20% approval rating) at 34% over the Democratic Congress which has only a 14% approval rating... Jeez

President's rating mostly stable since start of year; Just 14% give the new Dem Congress a positive rating—nine points below GOP Congress last October


President Bush’s job approval rating now stands at 34% among likely voters nationwide, up slightly but largely stable since the beginning of the year, a new Zogby International telephone poll shows.

Two–thirds of those surveyed gave him negative marks.

The President’s rating has improved a bit since hitting a historic low point of 30% approval in early March, just as the new Democratically–controlled congress began to hit its stride on Capitol Hill, highlighting differences with the White House on important issues.


The telephone survey was conducted July 12–14, 2007, included 1,012 likely voters nationwide, and carries a margin of error of +/– 3.1 percentage points.

Bush’s numbers are stable among Republicans, where he wins a 63% positive rating, and among those who consider themselves political independents – where he wins 31% support. Just 8% of Democrats give the President positive job marks. Among men, 33% gave him positive job marks, while 34% of women gave him a positive rating.
