Finally, finally, the working-class conservatives get what the rest of us have been saying forever. Note the sentence highlighted in red below. The GOP establishment only works for the wealthy donor class not the Joe six-pack conservative. Now they are finally rejecting the GOP establishment but instead of running to the party that has been championing the middle class for as long as there has been a middle class, they run to completely inexperienced political neophytes in another desperate attempt to get a candidate that represents their interests. Have these people ever made a sound, rational decision at any point in their lives? Not so far. They continue to be wedge issue bitches and single issue voters for the foreseeable future.

For Republicans, Mounting Fears of Lasting Split

The Republican Party is facing a historic split over its fundamental principles and identity, as its once powerful establishment grapples with an eruption of class tensions, ethnic resentments and mistrust among working-class conservatives who are demanding a presidential nominee who represents their interests.

At family dinners and New Year’s parties, in conference calls and at private lunches, longtime Republicans are expressing a growing fear that the coming election could be shattering for the party, or reshape it in ways that leave it unrecognizable.

While warring party factions usually reconcile after brutal nomination fights, this race feels different, according to interviews with more than 50 Republican leaders, activists, donors and voters, from both elite circles and the grass roots.

Never have so many voters been attracted to Republican candidates like Donald J. Trump and Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, who are challenging core party beliefs on the economy and national security and new goals like winning over Hispanics through immigration reform. Rank-and-file conservatives, after decades of deferring to party elites, are trying to stage what is effectively a people’s coup by selecting a standard-bearer who is not the preferred candidate of wealthy donors and elected officials.

    Trump Could Win It All

A new survey shows a sizable number of Democrats ready to defect from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump.

    January 8, 2016

So if Donald Trump proved the political universe wrong and won the Republican presidential nomination, he would be creamed by Hillary Clinton, correct?

A new survey of likely voters might at least raise momentary dyspepsia for Democrats since it suggests why it wouldn't be a cakewalk.

The survey by Washington-based Mercury Analytics is a combination online questionnaire and "dial-test" of Trump's first big campaign ad among 916 self-proclaimed "likely voters" (this video shows the ad and the dial test results). It took place primarily Wednesday and Thursday and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent.

Nearly 20 percent of likely Democratic voters say they'd cross sides and vote for Trump, while a small number, or 14 percent, of Republicans claim they'd vote for Clinton. When those groups were further broken down, a far higher percentage of the crossover Democrats contend they are "100 percent sure" of switching than the Republicans.

When the firmed showed respondents the Trump ad, and assessed their responses to each moment of it, it found "the primary messages of Trump's ad resonated more than Democratic elites would hope."

About 25 percent of Democrats "agree completely" that it raises some good point, with an additional 19 percent agreeing at least "somewhat."

Mercury CEO Ron Howard, a Democrat whose firm works for candidates in both parties and corporate clients, concedes, "We expected Trump's first campaign spot to strongly appeal to Republican Trump supporters, with little impact – or in fact negative impact – on Democratic or independent voters."

He continues, "The challenge to Hillary, if Trump is the nominee and pivots to the center in the general election as a problem-solving, independent-minded, successful 'get it done' businessman is that Democrats will no longer be able to count on his personality and outrageous sound bites to disqualify him in the voters' minds."

Trump's formidable challenges remain obvious and in no small measure reflect his general style.

A total of 66 percent of Democrats are very concerned with it, as are 32 percent of Republicans and 41 percent of independents, according to the survey.

Further, 65 percent of Democrats said that the "prestige" of the country would be hurt by his election, as did 19 percent and 29 percent of Republicans and independents, respectively.

But what if Trump lowered the bombast in a general election?

One must admit that Hillary is an absolutely horrible candidate. She was hoping to reignite the "Obama Derangement Syndrome" of the lemmings from 2008 by capitalizing on the potential of being the first president with a vagina (supposedly). But, she has too much baggage, she's not connecting with young voters, lots of Democrats despise her, she's not connecting with women voters, people realize she's a power-mad egomaniac and she's just not saying what people need to hear.

You are mostly correct, in that, the GOP establishment mostly works for wealthy donors, but who do you think the establishment in the Democratic party works for? You got it, public unions, big Hollywood donors, radical activist groups funded by George Soros, and wealthy sheiks from middle eastern nations who do horrible things to people. This is your party. Something to be proud of, right? I think not!

You know, you bring up a valid observation. We really have not seen what is between Hillary's legs. Do you think Slick Willie may have married a hermaphrodite? Ha, ha, ha!!! I think someone better have a look down there just to make sure. I think I will hire Teddy the troll, or IClueless1 for this daunting task. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, haaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, her femininity has long been questioned. Actually, it really doesn't matter one way or the other EXCEPT for the fact that she's using it as a basis for her campaign. I like your idea of hiring IQLessThan1 to check it out. He's a sex fiend who would probably love to inspect "her" junk.

Also, presumably, Chelsea may not even be Hillary's child, but the unintended offspring of the victim of a late-night rape by Slick Willie during his personal war on women.

I guess that will make up for this statistic.

Poll: Half of Voters Say They'd Feel Embarrassed by Trump Presidency

Donald Trump remains the Republican frontrunner, but half of American voters say they would feel "embarrassed" to have Trump as the country's president, a new Quinnipiac poll finds.

The survey shows that 28 percent of Republicans back Trump as the party's nominee, with Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas close behind at 24 percent. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio comes in third at 12 percent, while Dr. Ben Carson captures 10 percent support.

But asked whether they would be proud or embarrassed if Trump is elected, fully 50 percent of all registered voters suggested that they would feel ashamed. That includes 20 percent of Republicans, 47 percent of independents and 82 percent of Democrats.

Just 23 percent of voters responded that they would feel proud to have Trump as the country's leader.

When the same question was asked about Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton, 33 percent said they would feel proud, 35 percent said they would feel embarrassed, and 29 percent said that neither sentiment would apply.

The Quinnipiac poll was conducted December 16-20 and has a margin of error for all registered voters of +/- 2.9 percentage points.

If half the voters would be embarrassed by a Trump presidency, how many would be embarrassed by a Hillary presidency? Especially when 20% of Democrats say they are supporting Donald Trump. Is 35% accurate?

I mean seriously. What is there to Trump?

I like what he says. I believe him. The only criticism I personally have of him is his use of crass language. If you were a republican, or independent, who would you like, and why? I don't like where we are now, in this country. If Mr. Trump would get rid of the low class words, the swear words, he would be perfect! Imo.

    :)
