Senate Repubs lockstep with Bush out of step with America

Senate Republicans once again give Bush a blank check to continue his failed policies and abdicate their oversight responsibilities in favor of partisan allegiances. Even though Bush has proven over and over he can only fail, senate Republicans continue to support his failed policies and block any change of course put up in favor of doing more of the same. The congressional Republicans can expect a massive house cleaning in the next election for their unwavering support of the least popular president to ever hold office in this country. Democrats don't have the numbers to pass any meaningful legislation without a few supporters from the Republican party. So as soldiers die, the Republicans remain committed to more of the same failed policies that have gotten us in the situation we currently find ourselves. Stronger enemies, protracted wars, mounting U.S. service personnel casualties, a trip over the fiscal abyss, and no public support outside of the Republican party to name only a few of the problems the Republicans have created. We are not only going to change parties in 2008, we are going to give the minority party it's walking papers.

Hey...I'll be the first one to crticize Bush (border control, spending, and fighting islamic animals too "nicely"), but democrats have NO plan and NO platform and NOTHING original (unless you count more income tax redistribution at the expense of people that work and produce). BTW...that is called raising taxes because democrats can never have too much government and socialism.

So please continue to cry like YOU always do!

As the DOW passes 14,000, unemployment at 4.5%, deficit falls below 200 billion (and falling), income coming into the US treasury at a record rate...DAMN that Bush for passing those marginal tax rate cuts! He must be impeached for putting money in the hands of the individual instead of some government agency that democrats love!

    Boo Hoo...

As usual, you're off yammering about something that is completely unrelated to the subject of the post instead of considering the topic. That's O.K. It isn't about Islamic animals, or Liberals, or appeasers or Islamic apologists, so you probably have nothing to throw out there anyway. If you can somehow come up with something that we all haven't heard from you like 10 billion times, I know I'd be grateful. If you could actually think about a topic before posting your predetermined responses, I'd certainly be impressed. I know this would take a herculean effort on your part but it would be so refreshing after all these years. I suspect that you are already hoarding the antidepressants for the 2008 election and checking out your passport to see if it is updated. I can sympathize with the feeling because I have had it for the past 7 years under your wonderful choice for our nation's highest office. All I can suggest is that you start practicing the phrase President Clinton once again or possibly President Obama, it's all good.

From afar, I think problem in USA is you have not any political party with real "balls". You getting screwed by your "liberals" and your "conservatives" Come on USA, politicians only go Washington to get sex from high priced wh0res on Capital hill address. If they not getting sex, then they get money from bribe. They don't care about losing of Iraq, not catch Bin Laden, USA become debtor nation along line of African banana republic.

    Be real.

Kras, the only problem I have with your viewpoint is that it is the viewpoint of an outsider looking in with none of the flavor of the real situation. You sound like the evening news report with no depth of the knowledge of the story you are talking about. You add nothing that isn't surface knowledge to any issue. If I were you, I'd post the general perspective of your country towards the U.S. That would be far more interesting than just one person's opinion. Keep trying Comrade!

Midas, for once I think you've made a good post, except for the inclusion of the picture which detracts from the message.

Gee...thanks...just for that, I'll make the picture smaller. I wonder if the left is still claiming this is the worst economy in 50 years as they did back in 2004.

As my grandfather told me years ago, "...just because a recession is going on does not mean you are required to participate."

    Specifically...what facts were "retarded"??

Please enlighten the forum with your facts and references...and what platform the democrats should present to the American public.

This poll is from another thread in this forum. If Bush is out of step with the American people, which in many ways, he is, what does it say about the Democratic Congress? I mean for heaven's sake, the Democratic-led Congress has a lower approval rating than the Republican Congress last October.

Congress has always "enjoyed" lower approval rating under any circumstances than the individual occupying the White House. This is nothing new. It is sort of like the phenomena of parents hating the public school system in general but at the same time feeling O.K. about their own schools. People hate congress but they like their own congressperson at the same time.
It isn't a Democratic congress, it has almost an equal number of representatives from both parties and neither party is favored over the other. If the numbers are this equally divided and nothing the president veto's can be overridden, how can you even think that Americans are disapproving of the Democrats and not the obstructive Republicans. I'd say that considering that 3/4 of Americans want to be out of Iraq, they are probably more PO'ed at the Republicans.
It doesn't seem to matter how many times this is pointed out, Bone keeps posting the same misleading nonsense and throws his own interpretation/spin on the results. The fact is that 3/4 of the American people see Bush's policies as total failures and even a sizable percent of Republicans are beginning to come to the same conclusion. Republicans are slowly trickling over to reality but only because they see that their coveted positions are in danger. Look at McCain, he is supporting this war and his fortunes are going south faster than rednecks the day after a NASCAR event in Boston.
If this poll makes Bone feel better about his party of choice so be it. The facts and common sense say something else as well as the mood of the majority of the American people. There is nothing like false hope to get you up in the morning eh?

I would say that 3/4's of the people in this country don't like how the war is or has been fought (I am one of those 3/4's).

That is...we are fighting aganst islamic animals with one arm behind our back. For instance, the city of Fallujhad should have been flatten years ago instead of sending in our troops one by one to flush out the "insurgents".

Another thing...you always hear about the bad news. One American killed here, Two there, but you NEVER here about how many islamic animals we are killing because I would bet that for every American killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, we have killed 250 islamic animals. But nooooooooooooooo, we don't want too offend the muslim community as many people (appeasers especially) have this insane idea that we can have peace with people that follow "true" islam. The fact is...infidels will NEVER have peace with these islamic animals, so you might as well flatten the place and start over.

I knew this would happen. Most Americans schooled by government schools believed what would happen in Iraq and Afghanistan would take no longer than a season of "24". After all...TV land solves all of the world's problems in a couple of hours, so why can't we?

    Idiots!

If these iditiots have any understanding of history, they would understand what is happening (as Iraq goes from a brutal dictatorship to some sense of a democratic republic) does NOT happen in just a couple of years.

So go ahead democrats...redeploy, I mean surrender. Leave Iraq for more "true" muslims who get on their freakin' knees and bang their heads thanking their allah EVERY day that they have you spineless people helping them win the war. These "true" muslims couldn't be more happier with your efforts to undermind our troops and stop the fighting in this islamic hell hole...which is the FRONT lines in the war aganst "true" muslims.

Face it...your hatre of Bush II is so great that you underminded every thing we did in this war (at the expense of the civilized world) just so you can defeat Bush. Happy now??

So my appeasing spineless friends, where should that FRONT line be after you surrender?

My plan? Divide Iraq into three sections: Kurdistan, Shi-ite-istan and Sunni-istan. Build a couple of "Forts" (a la Gitmo style in Cuba) outside of the main population centers so that our bombs and weapons can be deployed within 15 minutes instead of waiting a week and a half.

Let's these animals kill each other as they try to be "more" muslim than the other. The fact they are killing each other will do the infidel world a HUGE service. If they get out of hand and/or threaten us...then we can BOMB them and dust off our hands.

    What would you do??

Adam, you have to start reading what I write and stop imagining what you want it to say. I never said I agreed with Midas; that is your interpretation. I just thought his post was more lucid than most of the rants of the past, so I said his post was good. He's improving and this should be congratulated. [Of course, he fell off the sanity wagon with subsequent comments :(] The next thing Midas needs to think about is how can he simultaneously congratulate Bush for leaving more money in people's pockets while also collecting a record amount of income taxes. This is something most people overlook. Both the republicans and democrats have the same goal -- to maximize the amount of taxes they collect in order to fund their massive government spending plans. They just have a little bit different philosophy about how to go about it.

Ron Paul is the only candidate who specifically said that the income tax should be abolished. Everyone else just wants to tinker with it around the edges to make it work better. Free people should NOT be subject to taxes on their labor, which is why the founding fathers did not grant the federal government the power in the first place.

I think it is great that American workers/producers have a "say so" with THEIR tax money (it is theirs, not the government's) than some social worker who believes (like most socialists) that they are smarter than the individual...all they need is more "investments" (translation: more taxes and income redistribution).

But you are right...the spending is out of control! Could you imagine the surplus if government spent money in line with inflation with no new discretionary expenditures???

But this is how our politicians are buying votes. Pork in exchanged for votes and the president is stuck because he doesn't have a line-item veto...which I strongly support for ANY president. It will bring accountability to all parties.

As for taxes, I support the "fair-tax' and abolishment of the IRS. Something, socialist liberals in this country will never go for!

I have always agreed that these fanatics need to be stopped. You have never been able to hear that. They need to be stopped with extreme prejudice and in a smart way. Bush has done just the opposite with stupid wars that only help Al Qaeda and for that and countless other agendas that do nothing to making this country a better place to live, he needs to by called out at every opportunity. I didn't vote for him and I haven't defended him as many of you have and I certainly have earned the political capital to ridicule him and his administration as much as I feel necessary. You bet on the wrong horse and it has come home to bite you in the a** . You can speculate all you want about what would have happened if Gore had been elected into this situation but you could never really know. We certainly wouldn't be in a bigger mess than we are in today because that is pretty hard to imagine. We have been boned at every turn with Bush and he needs to go.
