Yes although to what degree would depend on the standard you use to measure nuttiness. Some people consider me quite rational. Others would disagree. Of those who care, most are probably in the middle somewhere. I imagine it's much the same with everyone.

One of the wonderful things about religion is that by joining up and buying in you get to hang with a ready-made group of people who think you're totally righteous and sane or at least headed in the right direction. And you probably get the approbation and protection of the supreme ruler(s) of the Universe as well. How's that for a bargain?

  2. Only two components are involved in most people' brain process, nurture and nature. I have a third component in my psyche, rage tempered with caution.

Perplexing how each person develops our own unique personality, isn't it? Over the many years of examining different personality/character types, I have concluded the Yogi is most humble, gentle, and simple, yet most advanced in character, overall in my view.

I respect the views/teachings of all persons who promote humility and gentleness and especially peace (inner and outer). In my opinion, none are greater than Christ.

I actually agree, despite what Takiji, and others said. After all, Jesus paved the way for many millions of people to be happily inspired in life and what they believe occurs afterwards. There are other peaceful religions, but Christianity has been most rewarding in my observation, too.

The history of Christianity is as bloody as any other religion you can think of with the possible exception of Buddhism.

And the history of the democrat party is more racist than any other party in the US. Now when you get to current events, there have been thousands killed this year in the name if Islam. Not sure you could name 2 in the name of Christianity.

No doubt, no doubt. Imperfect humans have perverted the teachings of Christ for 2000 years.

  9. Islam is a peaceful religion as long as everybody believes that Muhammad is the highest in God's favor and after converting, pick Shiite or Sunni. Be a martyr and you are automatically sent to heaven with rivers of wine and virgins uncountable.

I've found that the only "true" Christian is the one you happen to be talking with at any given time. Almost invariably you will be informed that other Christians who believe differently are counterfeit Christians who have perverted the message.

I have nothing against Jesus Christ or Mohammed or Buddha for that matter. It's the people that call themselves Christians or Muslims or Buddhists that have a problem with.

I don't have a problem with people who call themselves "Christians" as long as they follow the peaceful teachings of Christ. Once they deviate from those principles and twist His words to their own ends, they should no longer call themselves Christians.
