So Carson lied, but it was only a little lie. Just something to improve his resume. I thought that Christians were supposed to be above this sort of thing.
But apparently lying is routine for liberals. After hearing about the IRS, keeping your insurance, Rosen. Solyndra, Rezko, Blumenthal, Benghazi, Noori, GSA, Secret Service, Jones, Geitner's taxes, Sharpton, etc. et al, Carson's wording is absolutely inconsequential.
So Carson did lie. As for Democrats, I will take each lie as it comes. I'm not a Democrat, nor am I a Liberal, and I won't dispute that there are enough lies to go around. All I'm saying is that Carson, for all his vaunted Christian "values" is no better than the others, whichever party they identify with.
Of all the forums I visit you are the most unhinged dem individual I have ever read a post from. I thought Dems were for equal rights for all people, race, ethnics and yet you libs try and tear someone down because he used the wrong word "scholarship" to tell his story. and just maybe his time line is a little off???.............It was 50 years ago. Get over yourself Or is it because he's a black republican and doesn't tow the lib line???
From, "Gifted Hands" It would be the part where he said, "Later I was offered a full scholarship to West Point." West Point says that this is not true and Carson has produced no evidence that would prove that they are mistaken. I believe West Point and therefore, I think we have a lie. And one that he has told repeatedly in talking about his life.
I wonder if anything this guys says is remotely true? Was he really a brain surgeon? I used to think so but now I'm not so sure. Is he really a dude? Who knows? It seems like the gullible cons have been conned again.
What's unfortunate about Carson is that his story would be inspiring enough without exaggeration, (probably) made up drama, and outright fabrications. He does exactly the kind of thing that many other politicians and public figures do, yet his supporters, while jumping all over them, insist on holding Carson up as some sort of moral beacon in the storm. I think it's his "faith" that gives him a pass in their eyes.
So does he get a prize? Will there be an dinner? Please let us know, I'd hate to miss it. And I'd like to apply for the award next year. Can you post the paperwork?
He was told that he could easily get an appointment to West Point. Now given that is not the exactly what happened, but the difference is more wording than actual difference. I seriously doubt you could find a single person whose words could not be parsed more acutely every day they live. Admittedly, I do not listen to most of Obama's speeches, but I have never heard more than a few minutes of any of his speeches where he has not at the very least stretched the truth beyond reality multiple times.
You're amazingly forgiving when it comes to lies, but only those of people you approve of. Perhaps in the spirit of Christian charity and not being judgmental you could apply this generosity across the board. Or, conversely, parse the words of your friends as carefully as your parse the words of those you see as your enemies. Peace be with you. And also with me.
You mean "You can keep your insurance" can be parsed? You mean "I did not send or receive classified email" can be parsed to allow for top secret email to be included? You mean Ayers is innocent can be parsed from "I did it"?
The only lies that matter are the ones that go against your own political philosophies. So then what is even the point of calling anyone else out for lying? Answer, self-gratification. Republicans are obsessed with calling people liars but so forgiving of their own lying ilk. Its not nearly as gratifying.
I seem to remember you saying Obama did not lie about keeping your insurance, about crossing the red line, about Benghazi, about Ayers, about the IRS, about Holder, etc. et al and so forth.
" You're saying that... "You can keep your insurance" can't be parsed, but "I received a scholarship" can be. There're both lies as far as I'm concerned. But for you only one is. The lie from the guy you don't like. Obviously Partisan Lines, would be more aptly called Partisan Lies.
I'll say again what I probably said back whenever your brain locked onto that stupid meme initially. Obama made the comment referring to the fact that the government wasn't going to pick the insurance provider that you had to use. At the same time, there was a basic level of care insurers had to provide under under the ACA in order to qualify as a viable insurer because the insurers could have, and in many cases were, selling junk policies that didn't help families. I know that's a lot of words for you and that you'd rather adhere to the simple-minded meme so by all means, go with what your simple mind can handle. The fact is that insurers that were selling junk policies couldn't compete by selling viable health coverage so they decided not to participate. That isn't Obama dictating the insurers in the marketplace, that it the insurers deciding not to participate in the marketplace which is completely out of Obama's hands. If you had the slightest bit of knowledge about health care, you wouldn't be spewing idiotic talking points but because you are an idiot, you adhere to them because you are a partisan moron. That has been my position and will be forever so please save the post and refer to it later when you make this stupid point again.
