    Main Entry: gen·tle·man
    Function: noun
    Etymology: Middle English
1 a : a man of noble or gentle birth; b : a man belonging to the landed gentry; c (1) : a man who combines gentle birth or rank with chivalrous qualities (2) : a man whose conduct conforms to a high standard of propriety or correct behavior d (1) : a man of independent means who does not engage in any occupation or profession for gain.

Come on Moen, you got to be kidding! Old Bill doesn't conform to any of these requirements.
But then who am I to correct such a scholar as you!

Old Dan, the word gentleman has many definitions. The American Heritage Dictionary has the 6th defintion as "valet." Bill isn't nobility, and isn't a valet, but probably fall somewhere in between.

What gets me is when I am watching COPS, after the high speed chase and a wreck the officer always calls him Sir? I was called Sir once in the Navy and said that I know who my mother and father were!

Regretfully, I have to point out that Moen is correct. Should Hillary become President, Bill would be referred to the "First Gentleman" (Think of it this way. The opposite of Lady - as in First Lady - is Gentleman).

However, if you want to get formal, Hillary could properly be referred to as the President, while Bill would be President Clinton. Heads of state - be they monarchs or presidents - are always referred to only by their position while they are occupying it. So right now George W. Bush is THE President, while Jimmy Carter, George H.W. Bush, and Bill Clinton are, respectively, President Carter, President Bush, and President Clinton.

Here's an interesting thought for you. Presidents retain, for the rest of their lives, the privilege of having Hail to the Chief played when they enter a room. (Kind of gives you a whole new mental picture of a musical toilet seat, doesn't it?) But it would mean Bill couldn't sneak out of a state dinner with an intern, because the Marine Band would be duty bound to play Hail to the Chief when he came back 2 or 3 minutes later.

Correction; for most Americans they would be know simply as sh** head #1 and sh** head #2

But why worry, it will never happen!

Yeah i agree with OldDan. America says they're ready, but the chances of Hillary Clinton getting elected are slim to none.
