Every morning when I fill up on coffee, I always notice that I'm the only one who uses a mug. Everybody else uses these half-styrofoam-half-paper cups - and doubles up on them at that - right by the coffee machine. Talk about excessive waste... Eh, then again, this is an oil & gas company. I probably shouldn't be that shocked about waste by now.
Indeed. My mug has a nice tropical scene on it. I think it's from the '70's. Who wouldn't want to drink out of that in the morning? Crazy.
I am a mug guy...I hate cups with saucers...you know those damn cups that you can't get your finger through and it holds only 5 ounces. The bigger the mug, the better... BUT...the reason why you see paper is because people are too lazy to clean their mug. Also, when you are out and on the go, who wants to talk their mug with them?
Have to agree with you on both poins Midas that is one thing I realy hate about cafe's in europe they give you these little things with handles you coudnt get a matchstick through never mind your fingers :headbang:
Ha, I don't even wash mine. Once I'm done with my coffee or tea, I just set it aside for tomorrow. Really starts to build up a nice layer of flavor, just like an well-used pipe!
I have a favorite mug I've used for over 15 years. It was given to me by my boss as an office Christmas gift, a beautiful 1st lieutenant... It has the 1992 Calendar on it and everytime I use it makes me think back to those wonderful carefree days. Along with a friendly and beautiful boss, LOL... Ben

Chuckle, I'll keep it secret. She's (1Lt) out of the service now and is married with two little girls. We get a card during the holidays every year.
Ben it's very good quality, mine is some 20 years old lol and still doing ok we use to go directly to the factories in Stoke on Trent to buy stuff for our market stall

mine's a big metal monster made by eddie bauer...and it has a half-pot capacity! i had to mail my coffee maker back home today, so i'll be lugging this beast with me every morning to the chow hall. thing just barely fits into my cargo pocket! :kewl:
I hear ya, I used to fill a big one (1 qt metal) up with vanilla & strawberry softserve ice-cream. It was insulated and would keep the ice-cream cold for hours afterwards. Yum, Yum... I don't even know where it's at now, think I left it at Eskan Village, but I suspect it's still serving this great Nation.
Got a plastic Aladdin mug with a Miami Dolphins logo on it from 7-11 about 10 years ago. It goes everywhere with me. It looks pretty ratty on the outside from bouncing around in so many cup holders, but oh well. Every year I get 2 or 3 new mugs for Christmas and they wind up sitting in a cabinet, still in the cellophane.
As an aside, I'd rather have this for my mug... ...but I think it's best reserved for a nice cup of mead. :hammer: Not to mention this thing is well over $100. Rather spend that on coins.
