What exactly was accomplished here? Now if we get another credit rating downgrade, the 24 billion will look like chump change. Now tell me again you're worried about the debt because all I see is the Repukes adding more debt unneccessarily and not even admitting responsibilty for what they did. So next time any of them howl about the debt, just remember that if it comes down to crazy ideology or reducing the debt, they've already proven which they care about more. Sad, but like most ideolgues, they twist whatever they have to twist to achieve their assinine agenda. If they just weren't so Gad damn stupid.
"Through this process, Republicans said they would shut down the government, or, once it was shut down, they would refuse to open the government unless they got each one of these things. Of all of these things that they demanded, they got none of them! None...these have been sixteen bad days for the country and the economy." View attachment 2032
The Republicans said what they felt would improve Obamacare and the Obama Administration said they would rather shut down government than consider any recommendations from the Republicans...much like they did when the bill was originally drafted. How disingenuous of you to even try to pin this on the Republicans. Of course, you're going to keep repeating it until it becomes true...in your head, anyway. Obama has ninety (90) days to demonstrate he's willing to do what's right (without a gun to his head) or we do this all over again.
Hmmm...I could have sworn the republicans voted in the healthcare reform bill last year in the senate, as was. What changed between then and now? It should have been resolved before it became law, not right before that aw was acted upon. It's akin to slowing to the speed limit after the cop has already lit you up. Asinine beyond comprehension.
Akin to letting women vote after100+ years of not allowing them to vote? Maybe better, akin to allowing/not allowing alcohol?
90 days? Heck, the guy's had 5 years to demonstrate a willingness to do what's right... I still commend those Republicans in Congress who stood on principle & acted based on what they felt was in the best interest of the country regardless if it cost them in the next election or not. Instead of vilifying these guys we should be looking for many more to join them. As for the $24b mentioned in the OP, that's chump change compared to the trillion BO has wasted in his various vote buying & campaign support schemes.
