This is a bizzare opinion. I guess once you drink the koolaid regarding WMD in Iraq, it triggers a whole chain of lies you need to believe to keep the story together. First of all, I doubt that Israel would back down from Syria. But what you seem to miss is that Hezbollah is a Shiite fighting force aligned with Iran and fighting in Lebanon, while Hammas is a Sunni fighting force aligned with Syria. They tolerate each other because they have a common enemy, but it is pretty nutty to believe that Syria carried out the war in Lebanon.

ok, first of all the military machine that Bush took over as commander in chief was designed by the Clinton Administration. They scaled down our military forces and restructured it to be smaller, more mobile and very lethal with technology and specialist soldiers. We could roll over the entire middle east in months but we could not hold the ground in one nation effectivefully without brut force. This is a fact. Our military is meant for a quick letahal victory and not as an occupational force. The only way we could do that in the long term is to move our troops out of South Korea. That is why the terms that we are spread to thin keeps coming up. The democratic leadership gets that but the bunch of you don't, for you don't know our military.

As for Syria, I posted it before but I guess you don't understand it. Syria is ruled by the Assads. The Assads are from the minority Alawite sect. They are from the mountains of northwest Syria. They fled there for the Sunnis were enslaving them or killing them before the British. Today they make up around 15% of the total population of Syria. The sunni's do not recognize them as true muslims. The elite forces like the Republican Guard of Syria are all from the Alawite sect. They rose to power with the Baath party. This is why they always played both sides of the fence with the Iraq's. They had the Baath party links but they also had the sunni problem which leads to alliances with Shia Iran in keeping the sunni's in line.

I could go into much detail but the longer the post the less it is read.

Liberal appeasing democrats have no understanding of history and the events that lead up to today's current events. As the Billy Joel song goes, "We Didn't Start the Fire..." applies today more so than anytime in history.

"True" muslims which are those that follow the koran as mohammad intended are hell bent on fulfilling his commands and wishes: total islamic law for all and the elimination of those "not muslim enough". Of course, if you are a non-mulsim and don't convert (or else), expect to pay these salvages a ransom tax (Jizya) because that is how "true" muslims extort money from non-muslims living in islamic hell-holes today.

And you wonder why non-mulsims are leaving islamic dominated countries in droves!!

Open up your eyes and look at the mess caused by the worst major religion on this earth. It is well documented. It is the life of their terrorist prophet. It has been going on for 1,400 years and liberal appeasers still believe you can rationalize with these people...which their koran forbids "true" muslims from coming to terms with non-muslims.

Here is PROOF of their actions as instructed in their terrorist hand book, the koran:

    Koran 5:51

Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends. They are friends with one another. Whoever of you seeks their friendship shall become one of their number. Allah does not guide the wrong-doers.

In this verse Prophet Mohammed is clearly instructing his followers never to befriend a Christian or a Jew. Because if they take a Christian or a Jew as a friend, they will commit a wrong deed and Allah's wrath will be on them.

    Koran 5:57

Believers, do not seek the friendship of the infidels and those who were given the Book before you, who have made your religion a jest and a pasttime...

Here "those who were given the Book before you" refers to Christians and Jews. Once again Mohammed is warning Muslims of all time never to befriend a Christian or a Jew.

    Koran 5:64

The Jews say: 'God's hand is chained.' May their own hands be chained! May they be cursed for what they say!...

In the above verse Prophet Mohammed is showing his deep respect for the Jews.

    Koran 9:29

Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last day, nor hold the forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and his messenger, nor acknowledge the Religion of Truth from among the People of the Book, until they pay the Jiziyah with willing submission. And feel themselves subdued.

Here 'People of the Book' refers to Christians and Jews. The 'Religion Of Truth' refers to Islam. So in the above verse Prophet Mohammed is instructing Muslims to fight and torture Christians and Jews (who do not believe in Islamic version of God) until they pay tax to Muslims for their existence. Muslims are also strictly instructed to make the Christians and Jews feel 'subdued'. Allah is truly benign !!!

    Koran 9:30

The Jews call 'Uzayr-a son of God', and the Christinas call 'Christ the Son Of God'. That is a saying from their mouth; (In this) they but intimate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are decluded away from the Truth.

Here Prophet Mohammed is wishing that Allah's curse be on Jews and Christians. And what did the Christians and Jews do for such special favour from Allah ? All they did is that out of respect and love, they called their Prophets 'son of God'.

Of course, there are nearly 500 verses in the koran that spews out the hate that is driving "true" muslims to be the world's cancer. You simply can't ingore these facts.

    But democrats do...

Democrats have no intention of fighting these animals. They have not demonstrated they can't protect this country since Kennedy was President. They have demonstrated they have no will nor resolve to do what is FIRST and FOREMOST the federal government's number one responsibilty for this country: "Protect and Defend".

Before we can have debate about fiscal policy and how democrats love more government in our lives, you first must have a country that is protected from those that wish to destory us...otherwise, social and fiscal debates will be a thing of the past under koranic and sharia law.

I like to think of myself as someone who is on the right side of center. A person who's capable of making sound decisions based upon an individuals track-record no matter who they are. I like John Edwards views on some of the issues but am also a Republican. Would I vote for him, I might...

You won't find me or my kind seeking the limelight, much-less dressed as transvestites like those nuts who are screaming for Bush's impeachment and somehow make it on TV during special hearings. I don't use ebonics to make myself seem blacker when with those who are black, and don't march in parades unless it's with the VFW or the DAV. Guess I'm just a regular heterosexual gun-toting guy from South Dakota who owns property, pays taxes, and follows the law.

I guess a person that believes in the individual over government intervention and control, fiscal responsibility, and a strong national defense is considered a "rightwinger" too.

Everybody has their own definition of what is "center" and if you wish to label somebody like me a "right winger nutjob" for my three core beliefs...so be it.

At the end of the day, natural selection and logic will deal with the people who have views that the government should be in all aspects of our lives, that the government should spend more then it takes in and that there are no islamic animals that wish to destroy our country.

I will stand by these convictions no matter how much people in the main stream media call people like me a "nut job".

I heard on the news this afternoon in the van while going to pick up my boys from Sunday school that the army wants to increase by 50,000 or so. Maybe some of the discrediters would come across it as well and start realizing that I post facts based upon experience and knowledge.

Probably correct, my younger brother (Texas) and I speak often and He's a Right Wing zealot. A regular Bill O'Reilly, LOL...

I dunno... I find O'Reilly is pretty fair...

The reason I say that is I have heard him call out Bush on things and I've heard him blast Republicans many times when he thought they were wrong on things....

Also I've heard him say I'm sorry, I was wrong, I made a mistake, I messed up, etc.. etc......

Now Hanity on the other hand, He is a bit far right for me... I don't hate'em or dislike'em, but I can only take so much of him.... I can only listen to about a quarter of his show.... O'Reiley, I can make it thought the whole thing.... Beck too.....

Thats pretty much any talk show host that is not just a comedian...

You can even look at the females, they do it too....

In my opinion, all talk show hosts are big mouths and cut people off left and right (no un intended)...

O'Reilly is a Harvard graduate. I believe Hannity did not attend college [at least I can find no reference]. I don't consider him far right. He just parrots what the producers tell him to say.

  15. Midas

Well, if he just parrots what producers tell him to say, he does a pretty good job of it for three hours a day on radio and his one hour show on Fox.

I say that because being conservative, we can back up our arguments with rational and logic and if it were just B.S., people would see through it and turn the channel. That is the beauty of capitalism.

That is the best part of radio. You can't hide or B.S. your way, day after day, without substance and hence, this is another reason why the liberal talk shows have failed because they lack substance and rational. Sooner than later, your true colors are exposed as there is no hiding behind a script or what another person tells you to say...or parrot.

A perfect example of this is back during the Kennedy - Nixon debates. Those that watched on television thought Kenneday won because he looked great for television, had a nice tan, and of course the woman just ate it up. Nixon had a 5 o'clock shadow and most viewers could not get beyond that.

But those that listened to the debate on radio thought Nixon had won. Why? Because on radio you have to listen and you are not distracted by lighting and looks.

So...I don't buy it. Radio doesn't hide a person's true beliefs like television and to keep an audience engaged for 15 hours per week eventually shows what you are and what you believe.

Face it, FDR today would NEVER get elected because he isn't good for television. The same holds true for Lincoln...that nose, those ears would have been spoofed on everything from John Stewart to Saturday Night Live.

It's referred to as using talking points. There is nothing easier than adhering to a script regardless of the specifics of the case. What you witness is well-rehearsed ahead of time. Hannity knows what he is supposed to say about everything even before the event occurs; even if the event never occurs. You are correct in pointing out that thinkers would not do well in that medium.

Which is why urban areas are so well governed, crime free, clean, no unemployment or homelessness. Neighbors help each other, people don't lock their doors, you can walk the streets and interact with everyone you meet, the schools are first rate, and on and on. Absolutely Utopian. ;)

I've spent a considerable amount of my life in both environments. I would hardly call one superior to the other. They both have their strengths and weaknesses but if we are talking strickly politically savvy people, urban dwellers live in this century while rural folks live somewhere in the state of denial about where society is really at in the present moment. Somehow they believe the T.V. and the local radio show and their internet box keeps them abreast of the real world so they don't actually have to experience it for themselves. Observing the world from the safety of your cornfield isn't quite that same as actually living in it. Although, it doesn't usually stop them from thinking that they know what the the heck is going on. :rolling:
It's no coincidence that large rural areas are often populated with a majority of Conservatives. In other words the red states.

I've lived in both too and, quite frankly, heavily urban areas suck. ;)

And I am reasonably sure your typical suburbanite who has fled from the true urban areas doesn't know crap about your 'real' world either although they probably like to think they do.

I was contrasting urban and rural not urban and suburban which aren't all that different anyway.
