No one has had the level of political miscalculation that Rudy has. Look at the link from the first post and watch the video
Your points seem rather fair smullen...If I have typified you or painted you as an extreme nutjob, I am sorry. I would only say...about the immigration thing, that while there ARE illegal immigrant that DONT want to become citizens...many of those who do are virtually barred from entering because of VERY strict immigration laws that make it almost impossible for anyone but those people who are, in fact, less in need of a better life... for example...my wife had to go through immigration...one of the requirements they had was that they had to have a bank account with a certain amount of money in it (this amount was in the thousands)...they had to have insurance...and they had to be employed in the US. These are just a small few on a long list of requirements that a person who is truly in need of a better life wouldn't have when trying to get in. They only allow in a small number of your hungry and poor each year these days and that group, sadly...consists of the majority of Mexicans and third world people trying to get in. So while I tend to agree with you that it is breaking the law...and indeed I was turned away from going into the interior of Mexico once for not having a passport (irony). That they need to be documented and go through legal means...and even that most of the fault for the problem lies at the foot of a corrupt Mexican government that doesn't give 2 pesos for the welfare of its people and would rather encourage them to come here...one must remember that to enter legally can be impossible for many, and could take a lifetime for others...just a thought...I do agree that immigrants need to, like my wife, do things legal and to be honest...it might sound odd, but my wife is probably more anti-illegal immigration than most Americans as she resents that she has had to jump through a thousand hoops and she is still not a citizen while others simply come in and expect everything to be given to them in one swoop of amnesty (she is not eligible for amnesty as she is not illegal)...I tend not to be for amnesty but more for a worker program that will at least document these people, tax them, give them a chance to become a citizen after a while but also allow others to work without becoming citizens (but they will be documented and taxed). This would have to be coupled with tougher laws towards illegals and cooperation and reform in the Mexican government and how it operates.
That is your retort. No substance, just a hateful response. Do your comments reflect the inner you or are they extent of your cognitive abilities?
Everyone has been appauled to here Rudy tell us that Republicans are the only party that can keep us safe from terrorism; Oh except Midas. Maybe it's the bang up job they've done so far that have people skeptical of this claim. Maybe it's the destablization of a major part of the Middle East with no exit strategy to go along with no plan for victory and an ever changing definition of just what victory means that have people scratching their heads at Rudy's claims. Maybe it's the rosie outlook for an ever worsening situation where if you don't get the results you want on the battlefield, you just tell the American public that everything is fine that is making people wonder how they'd know if they were safer with the delusional leadership of Republicans. Anyone that would stand in lock step with this Republican administration and the Republicans in congress that support these failed policies with more of the same, has to be at least as equally delusional, out of step with the majority of Americans, and a complete ranting idiot. Folks, I give you dd: Midas. We have lost so much credibilty with the rest of the world with this misadventure and Midas wants to keep towing the Republican line on the war. The same old arguements were made during vietnam by the Republicans from the lies about Cambodia to the failed training of the south Vietnamese troops to the waves of extra soldiers that were supposed to win it for us and only resulted in more U.S. causualties and a withdrawal that everybody knew was going to happen anyway. Everyone has stated that this war is not winnable militarily but Republicans can't admit this and want to throw more American lives away in some misguided macho effort to come out of this situation while saving political face. What a sad use of American lives that the Republicans are so willing to throw away for purely political reasons. Midas will have a scapegoat to pin this to in the end. It will be some Democrat or another I'm sure and every step will have been orchestrated by this Democrat from the very beginning. Democrats will be responsible for everything in the end and Midas will have his rant. The rest of us will have moved on long ago and Midas will still be sitting in a screen lit little room mumbling about Muslims, Democrats, and lies. Let's just hope that's all he does because anyone with his ability to deny reality and not actually be part of the Bush administration, is just plain scary to unlease on the unsuspecting public.
Oh I think I know of something of this part of the world. The phoenicians were in modern day Lebanon and Turkey at least 3,000 years before Christ, our lord and savior. They were the first ones to sail around Africa and they settled Tunisia and Spain as welll and also formed the Carthagian Empire. They were later to be dominated by the Greeks, Persians and Romans. But they choosed to convert to Christianity before being conquered by the muslims. Why the color purple made into a dye from a snail was the royal color of the phoenicains and that color later became the royal color of the Byzantine Empire. That was the effect of the phoenicans that lived in what we now called Turkey. Shame most of them were slaughtered by the muslims during that genocide.
Your words that I was referring to were, "Until one of these attacks actually happen close to home (family, friends) so to speak there are those on this forum who will defend them." I'll accept what you meant, but that's not what you said. Nobody on this forum has defended the attacks to my knowledge. Many folks around here lost friends and family on 911. My brother in law was injured but fortunately recovered. I understand that the reaction of some is to wipe-out Islam, but I think it's bad foreign policy.
Rudy sure sounded like a waffler in the debate. I guess it's O.K. if you vote for him. It's O.K. if you don't. You might want vote for him in the primary and maybe not. You could vote for someone else. That poor guy has some tough row to hoe. Convincing the far Right that he isn't the East Coast Liberal he really is should be one heck of a contortionist's trick. Twist Rudy Twist. :stooge:
that waffel was the most pathetic moment in the primary (so far), not to worry though, someone will top it.
Rudy is not presidential material. In fact, Ron Paul is the only Republican on the debate platform that I would vote for. The rest are far too militant to control the nuclear button.
Rudy's stance on abortion...BIG DEAL! I could care less. Abortion is a social issue that will be argued to the end of time. What is more important is that do you want a defensive President who waits for islamic animals to attack us here, or one that will be on the offense? There are more pressing issues than a social issue that only effects .0001% of the population when defeating islamic terrorism effects 100% of this country and its future.
Got to be careful here! Your starting to sound like another Texan who in in the White House at this time. Now that would sure earn you some black marks as far as some people, we have here on this forum, are concerned.:hammer:
The far Right wing of the GOP cares about abortion. You and I may not but this particular issue will make or break the Republican candidate. It's called single-issue voting and those weirdos are forsaking everything else because of this one issue including their common sense. Remember what Gandhi said about revenge: An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. I'm guessing you're not a big believer in Gandhi's teachings.
you are very lonely on that. Most Pubs find it to be a much more important issue than this fake "terrorism" crap.
Wow Moen, I agree with you. I always was clear on my beliefs...strong national defense, fiscal conservative, and I could care less on who you pray to and all as long as you don't base your actions from your religion to infringe upon my space...and my (gulp), neck! I agree with Rudy on 90% of the issues and that is good enough for me. I seem first hand how he cleaned up NYC, cut taxes and INCREASED revenues coming into the city. Think about it...what is more important, Pro-Choice or Pro-Life or defeating an enemy that has not made threats to destroy us, but PROMISES??
Rudy is the real deal. That is why the left has been attacking and misrepresenting him ever since he entered the race. I can not see him winning only because I see a lot of Saudi Arabian money being funneled through internet sites and lobbist shell groups against him. Hopefully he will be able to overcome that.
Ok Danr so now your four word responses have been replaced with four primitive picture icons. The left speaks. and with that I rest my case.
