How many of you will be contributing to www.citizendium.org when it opens up to the public? I will be utilising my expertise in British Commonwealth numismatics there, which I never really got to on Wikipedia. Aidan.
If you go to wiki I created and am still in the process of writing the entry for conder tokens and james conder... Iwas suprised there was no entry for it already.
Extremely bad design of the page - will kill visitors' eyesight and I will not go there no matter how much wealth it might hold.
Aidan I see you were banned from wikipedia. What happened? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Aidan_Work ben
Aidan Work is not required to be NPOV on his user page - in fact it's useful that he is so up front about his POV. However, having a list of "people I hate" is troubling. Aidan Work's list of hated people includes large categories of people - homosexuals and transsexuals - that include many Wikipedia editors. This is not good for our community. After reviewing his contributions, I do not see very many examples where Aidan Work has tried to impose his point of view on articles. Most of his article contributions have to do with coins and currency. However, he also makes inflammatory posts to article talk pages: e.g. Talk:Gerry Adams, Talk:Westboro Baptist Church, Talk:Jim Bolger, Talk:Tariana Turia. There is concern that some of these posts may verge on libel. Aidan Work needs to understand that Wikipedia talk pages are for discussion of the article, not the topic. This is not a forum for engaging in political debate, but for describing political debates that exist elsewhere. Basically, don't post comments to a talk page unless you have a specific suggestion for improving the article. Aidan Work has contributed a lot of good information to Wikipedia on non-political subjects. If his political and religious beliefs are so strong that he cannot be civil in some kinds of Wikipedia discussion, then he should stay away from them. Civility is one of the key tenets of our community. [1] His user page, as of 15:31, 13 December 2005 (UTC). This refers to Pope Benedict XVI as a "pointed-hatted Nazi gorilla" and the "Antichrist"; Gerry Adams as a "mass murderer" and the head of the IRA; Jim Bolger as a "low life scumbag" and Robert Mugabe as a "crackpot dictator". All of these descriptions are under a heading of "People I hate.", alongside Homosexuals, Transexuals, Tariana Turia and the Maori Party. None meet NPOV. His entries under "People I admire." also fail to meet NPOV policy, but are at least not libellous. [2] NPOV non compliant edits relating to a non-recognised micronation who's leader he "admires". [3] as above, about the leader. [4] NPOV-violating, fantastical, hateful edit. [5] NPOV-violating, hateful, libelous edits attempt to 'condemn someone to hell' [6] NPOV violating, libelous edit. [7] develops his fantastical "British Nation of Ulster" [8] removal of a complaint about himself from WP:AN. This lead to a 24 hour block despite his claims that it was not vandalism following issuing of a {{test4}}. [9], [10] [11] transcript of User:Camillus McElhinney's "discussion" with Mr. Work regarding evidence for allegations made against Mr. McElhinney by Mr. Work. [12] says Tariana Turia is "subhuman" and should have been shot "for trying to cause a bloodbath" [13] says Tariana Turia has been lying for years. [14] and [15] sees nothing wrong with his defamatory statements [16] made personal remarks when placing me on admins noticeboard [17] adopts denial mode when taken to task for personal attacks by neutral editor www.godhatesfags.com I do agree with their advocacy of giving homosexuals the death penalty,as + ([[User:Aidan Work|Aidan Work]] 01:07, 28 November 2005 (UTC)) looks pretty rough, seems he was banned for statements made about homosexuals and political leaders, transexuals, etc...and calling the pope a "pointed-hatted Nazi gorilla" and the "Antichrist"; and having a list of people he hates...what is the micronation and eader of said nation they are talking about is what I am wondering...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conder_Token BTW, here is my page on Conder Tokens, no politics...still working on it.
WOW..! Quite shocking behavior... and, no, I won't be using Citizendium. Wikipedia has everything I need...
Requesting this thread to be locked up. Aidan had issues with this forum in the past as well - no one is perfect.
The HRP - see the "[2]" link. As for citizendium.org, well, competition (in this case for Wikipedia) cannot hurt. Whether it will attract as many contributors and "consumers" ... I have my doubts about that, but we will see. The page design? So far I have not seen any Citizendium sample pages, so I won't comment on that ... Christian
Nope no one is perfect but...wow! I see no reason to lock it, if he doesnt think his views and behaviour is wrong, then he should have no problem with this being here...but that is not my call and certainly this site is not about peoples views on other topics...certainly if he is responsible for any content (save coins) on this new site I would question ever using it.
Regarding locking this thread, since it's not really about coins, and it's mosting getting to be a discussion of political/religious views, I think it's best to move it into PRWE.
PC Brigade are scum. Drusus & Ben,I was banned because I deared to stand up to the PC scum brigade that had taken over the Wikipedia project. Some idiotic editors insisted on changing my references to the British Commonwealth to 'Commonwealth of Nations',even though placing British Commonwealth in the middle of a sentence made sense - eg; British Commonwealth postal orders ended up being changed to the nonsensical 'Commonwealth of Nations postal orders'. The so-called micronation that you're referring to is the Hutt River Province Principality. Aidan.
You were also banned because of your very vocal hatred toward homosexuals and for advocating killing them. In my opinion (for what it's worth) Wikipedia was correct in their decision to ban you. I've suggested before that you seek counseling; please consider this option for you own sake.
Scotty,I don't need counselling.Perhaps, you should pick up the Bible & turn to the Books of Leviticus & Romans. Homosexuals & 'transsexuals' are in my view, subhuman. They're lower than both pigs & cattle. The Bible actually does sanction the death penalty for even being a faggot! Adolf Hitler was a faggot & where did it end up? In the Lake of Fire in Hell, where it will burn up for eternity, along with Pope John Paul II of Rome! Aidan.
aidan aidan aidan, when will you learn. Stick with coins on the new wiki and you will not be kicked off.
If the Bible teaches us anything, it's to show love and compassion to one another. I think you've perverted the Bible to your own warped, hate-mongering view. God loves them as much as he loves you. The prevailing view is that Hitler was heterosexual; the homosexual charges have never been proven. No matter what sins Hitler committed during his life, had he asked God for forgiveness he would be in Heaven for eternity. His sins, in the eyes of God, are no worse than your sins or mine. Personally, I think you should read your Bible just a bit more thoroughly, especially the passages referring to "love" and "forgiveness". Hatred is an evil, all-consuming thing, Aidan. Please seek professional help to rid yourself of it before it consumes you, too.
He is selective reader of bible, like many people. Anybody thinks they can judge of others, needs to get good fireproof suit. Only one is capable of such a measure, and he is not mortal or any of us.
No, your country have freedome of speech, and even freedom to make fool of self in front of others. So good call Mr. Davis.
