Predictable responses: sneering and denial, talking points and knee-jerk invective. *YAWN*

So a Rolling Stone hit piece by a partisan hack & John Stewart are the opinion makers for the far left whackos these days? I see.

Well done Recusant, but as you can see from David's reply......certain beliefs blind people from seeing certain truths...(shrugs)...Oh well lol

I'm not holding my breath waiting for a substantive response from the members of this site who support Mr. Romney. I doubt any of them will even read the article. After all, when one has an effective set of blinders manufactured from a handy ad hominem fallacy, it's easy to bleat simplistic pejoratives while ignoring any source of information which may contradict one's prejudices.

Great article, thank you for the post. However, it has quite a few words in it and it doesn't lend itself to refutal with epithets, meaningless catch phrases and shock-jock speak. Big strikes against it from the viewpoint of the RW crowd here. David obviously wasn't willing to tackle it.

Yeah, as usual, he has just a little trouble refuting anything in the article that Matt Taibbi penned but somehow drags Jon Stewart in and tries to belittle Rolling Stone but again nothing about the points in the article.

I get that you & your ilk receive your talking points from partisan opinion pieces and TV comedy shows but allow me to let you in on a little secret- They aren't real!
Now this may come as a shock to you hard-core ideologues but Rolling Stone, Comedy Central, SNL, Roseanne Barr, etc don't make a habit of reporting the real news...they pander to a receptive audience of low information viewers who would rather be entertained than to actually learn something for themselves. With this being said, you'll just have to excuse me for not reading (or respecting) a far left hit piece in Rolling Stone or a skit on John Stewarts fake news televison show. But, by all means, keep the cutting & pasting campaign going it seems to amuse a few of the morons...

Let's see. They are covering the Democratic Convention right now. I guess you are saying that is fake?

If it's not real news then you should have no problem demolishing it, should you. Yet you are apparently incapable of addressing even one point that the article makes that is invalid or one assertion that you see as wrong. You can talk about it how unreal it all is but you can't give us a single example of said unreality.

The convention isn't fake just the speeches, promises, poandering, etc...

You know, it's odd...last week the left criticized the RNC for holding a convention while there was a hurricane looming, what will be said now that the dims are holding a convention while there is so much clean-up & recovery needed to be done?

Here's what you are missing sunshine, I won't be "demolishing" any part of the Rolling Stone op-ed piece because I won't be reading it...not a single word of it. Why would one waste their time reading Mike Taibbi's column when it's obvious, based on his history, what his political agenda happens to be? You go ahead & absorb every word he writes...more power to you. While you're at it, I think E has an expose running tonight, PEOPLE is analyzing the economy & the National Enquirer is covering the Dimocrack convention.

Can't do it, can you? Can't refute a word of it. Canned boilerplate and little one-line RW funnies are pretty much all your brain can process.

I managed to get through page 1 and found no "facts" to dispute except maybe that he hasn't "tweezed nostrils". All I could find were unsubstantiated slurs and insults and I am sure to you and yours those are facts.

    It's all they've got!
BO can't run of his record so his only shot is to run down the opposition. It's obvious, from his defenders on this forum, Axelrod & the Chicago thugs have been successful in that regard. I mean, heck, they've convinced the lemmings here that Comdey Central & Rolling Stone are legitimate news sources & they take John Stewart's comedy routines and Mike Taibbi's op-ed column as absolute fact! Geesh

The funny part of the whole Right vs Left political debate is that if you truly believe that the national debt is a bad thing and want to do something about it, vote for the Democrats. Here is why: Republics crow about the debt why Democrats are in office and they once they take office, the word debt never passes their lips again except in the Case of Cheney where he said debt does matter (paraphrasing). The last Administration to actually balance the budget was Clinton. of the 5 trillion dollar increase realized since 2008, most can be attributed to Obama putting 2 wars there were previously off the books, on the books, the unfunded Medicare Part D, and two of the largest tax cuts primarily benefiting the wealthy not to mention the most severe financial recession since 1929. So if you actually care about the national debt, elect a Democrat or just watch the debt keep piling up.

I never thought you would agree with me on that one, but I guess you still have a bit of independence left in you.

(raises hand)...I have a question... I'm assuming that any proof of anything resides on the internet?...

(seeing that no one has challenged that assumption) ...My side wins.

    ;)
