RNC Attendee Allegedly Threw Nuts At Black CNN Camerawoman, Said ‘This Is How We Feed Animals’

An attendee at the Republican National Convention in Tampa on Tuesday allegedly threw nuts at a black camerawoman working for CNN and said “This is how we feed animals” before being removed from the convention, a network official confirmed to TPM.

The CNN official declined to confirm specific details of the incident to TPM but generally confirmed an account posted on Twitter by former MSNBC and Current anchor David Shuster: “GOP attendee ejected for throwing nuts at African American CNN camera woman + saying ‘This is how we feed animals.’”

It is not clear whether the alleged culprit was a delegate or attending the convention in some other capacity.

In a written statement, CNN addressed the matter but divulged few details: “CNN can confirm there was an incident directed at an employee inside the Tampa Bay Times Forum earlier this afternoon. CNN worked with convention officials to address this matter and will have no further comment.”

TPM’s calls to RNC and convention officials were not immediately returned.

You seem to be lacking a whole bunch of facts. Outside of David Shuster's tweet (and that the RNC took immediate action conveniently omitted in your report), all you have is something happened at the conventions, not clear who was involved, unconfirmed by CNN.

 

Multiple witnesses observed the exchange and RNC security and police immediately removed the two people from the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

The convention released a statement saying, “Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior. Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated."

Besides.....I believe that 99.99% of ANY violent act that occurs at the RNC will be by infiltrators looking for photo ops and sound bites.

Where is the video and audio of your " alleged " peanut assault? Is this kinda like when they called JAmes Clyborn a nigger and spat on him after the Obamacare bill passed? I don't think there's any doubt that the incident happened. The Republicans admit that it did. Don't know how often we have to point this out or how much more proof is needed. The link in the quote below covers it pretty well.

The Republicans wanted the racist vote and they got it. And it's worked out well for them. Of course benefiting from it while at the same time denying that it exists is quite a balancing act and there is always the danger that occasionally members of the rank-and-file will get a little exuberant as they did here.

It isn't the peanut throwing that disturbs me as much as the quote. "This is how we feed animals."

 

How come they don't just admit that the Dixiecrats and their spiritual heirs the Tea Baggers were one of the best things that ever happened to them and call it good? It's hardly a secret and they just look silly when they deny it.

 

That's how they view everyone who is not like them. To the Romneys of the world most of us are simply animals. Some obviously more than others though.

 

The RNC Convention also known as the Rightwing Neo-Caucasian Convention has 0 support among the African American community for good reasons. If you look through the crowd, you have a very difficult time finding any diversity of any kind. Turn on the DNC Convention next week if you want diversity.

Diversity? You mean Eugene “Bull” Connor, Lester Maddox, Governor Faubus, George Wallace, Weiner, etc. will be there? Oh! That is right. You have Holder, Wright, Weiner, Ayers, Jefferson, et al to fill in for them.

 

They know their constituency. And it's getting smaller. White voters have got to turn out for them in record numbers if they are going to take this thing. And they might not have even these odds in four years' time.

John Rich Takes Clay Aiken To Task For ‘Racist’ Tweet

Plenty of us are sick of the heated political posts on social media this election year--and John Rich appears to be one of them. The 2011 Celebrity Apprentice winner took fellow Apprentice contender/American Idol alum Clay Aiken to task this week for what he considered to be offensive statements on Aiken's Twitter account.

Aiken posted the following comment on Tuesday evening while apparently taking in the Republican National Convention: "Playing drinking game with my brother now. We drink every time we see a black person on screen at the RNC convention. #soberasamormon."

Rich responded, "CLAY! You should be ashamed for racist comments like THAT! WOW." He noted, "I wonder how long it will be till @clayaiken takes that idiotic post down. Clay, you're better than that...I hope."

When Aiken did not respond, Rich fired off yet again: "And to finish it off, hashtags soberasamormon? I thought your charity was for inclusion, not EXCLUSION. What happened?"

Aiken, who competed on Apprentice this year for the National Inclusion Project (a charity that encourages an integrated environment for disabled and able-bodied children), did respond to that one.
"My charity is. Why isn't your party?" he asked, adding a winking emoticon.

Rich continued to make the point that he'd had enough. "Between the hashtag 'negrospotting' and what I've read ever since, I've just had enough of this racist nonsense. It's sick. PLS STOP."

Aiken has been prominently featured in the news in recent years as a spokesperson and activist for gay rights. He told CBS's Face The Nation in May that he voted for Obama in 2008. Rich endorsed John McCain that same year, even writing an original anthem called "Raisin' McCain." He also performed at the 2008 Republican National Convention, and endorsed Republican gubenatorial candidate Zach Wamp in 2010.

Rich added his friend and fellow Muzikmafia member Cowboy Troy in his messages to Aiken. Troy, who is African American, did not have any public comment on the matter. Twitter users overall seemed more vocal in favor of Rich's plea to stop the political bashing than Aiken's apparent attempt at humor.

That is exactly why we have seen all their attempts to disenfranchise as many voters as possible. They know that they cannot win in a fair election so they have to cull the voting heard of those pesky minorities and poor people. Do you notice who we have defending them in this forum? Admitted Caucasians! My God! Admitted Caucasians!

 

Agree with Jack- the perpetrator is most likely a dim plant. The far left was unable to support their allegations of racism at Tea Party events so they planted a "racist" at the RNC convention in order to advance the narrative their ideologues have so deeply bought into.

 

Everyone just imaging me reading this the first time and bursting out laughing and falling backwards out of chair and rolling around on the floor holding my stomach laughing my ass off with tears streaming out of my eyes until I am finally able to right myself and pull myself back into my chair where I catch another glimpse of this post on my screen and repeat the entire process. Who says Lil Davy doesn’t have a sense of humor?

If the RNC is NOT going to tolerate this type of behavior then I'm pretty sure it happened.

Question though. Don't you need credentials to get into the RNC and wouldn't they check up on it?
Or can anyone just walk in off the street.

If that's the case it could be "plants" and most likely would have been JoeNation and IQless1 if you follow any of the "logic" I've seem spouted on this forum.

Now assuming it wasn't Joe and IQ I suppose a "plant" could occur.

This leads me to another questiion though.

If THAT were the case wouldn't the RNC be plastering this all over the media?

Give it time. If the RNC DOES come up with any "facts" about "implants" I'll certainly listen.

If they don't then I'll assume it was their own people.
