Republican convention in tatters as Bush heads to hurricane zone
Speeches scrapped as Gustav threatens US Gulf coastline

George Bush was today heading for Texas instead of the Republican party convention to inspect emergency efforts as hurricane Gustav raced towards the US Gulf coast.

The president, who was pilloried for his tardy response to hurricane Katrina three years ago, was to visit Austin and San Antonio as the last residents in New Orleans prepared for Gustav to make landfall.

He had been scheduled to appear before the Republican party in Minneapolis-St Paul to give his official blessing to Senator John McCain, the party's presidential candidate who faces Barack Obama, his Democratic rival, in the November election.

But Gustav has thrown America's political agenda into chaos with the biggest casualty being the Republican convention, which was due to open today.

And this year, they are directly threatened by another hurricane. I think God is pissed.

 

I wonder what Pat Robertson's take on this is. God always confides in him when it comes to things like this. Seems to me like any one of His children should be able to ask Him and get a clear answer but apparently He only trusts certain people with this stuff.

 

It seems that God is kind of pissed so he is taking aim at the people that he feels haven't done enough to stop abortions even though they passed an all-time record number of abortion restricts both at the state and federal level in the past two years. God is really unhappy because women have been afforded too much damn equality is society and they need the backhand of male guidance to find their way. Also, those damn gays have been running amok fornicating and asking for rights that the rest of us enjoy without a second thought. Yeah, God really hates the gays. Time to pay GOP! Your inaction and tolerance of those people have caused God to delay your little convention 1 day. ​

I would warn that you're right in the way of some serious hurricanes, and I don't think I'd be waving those flags in God's face if I were you, This is not a message of hate -- this is a message of redemption. But a condition like this will bring about the destruction of your nation. It'll bring about terrorist bombs; it'll bring earthquakes, tornadoes, and possibly a meteor.
