Paul Ryan, who railed against the stimulus and refused to vote for it and is quoted saying that it doesn’t work, wrote 3 memos asking for stimulus money. In a radio interview, Ryan was asked about whether he was one of those Republicans that was against the stimulus then turned around and asked for the money, he denied asking for any stimulus funds. A blatant lie. In a recent interview, he was asked about the 3 letters and he pretended not to know about them but later blamed a staffer for creating and sending them even though he signed each one. Now Republican hypocrisy is nothing new and it does no good to keep pointing it out because that is just part and parcel of the way the Right-wing works, but are we now to assume that he was against the stimulus, before he was for it and now is against it again? No wonder Romney picked this guy, he is the flip to Romney’s flop.
-- y a w n -- Yet another non-news story. Thursday, Ryan responded to the questions himself. "After having these letters called to my attention I checked into them, and they were treated as constituent service requests in the same way matters involving Social Security or Veterans Affairs are handled," Ryan said in a statement. "This is why I didn't recall the letters earlier. But they should have been handled differently, and I take responsibility for that. "Regardless, it's clear that the Obama stimulus did nothing to stimulate the economy, and now the President is asking to do it all over again."
