Actually I should have said fellow Catholics but I was in a hurry. I'll fix it. I don't feel so bad though, rlm thought he was a Senator.
Hahahah! Hardly: Ryan could bring senior, female votes to GOP ticket despite Dem narrative August 13, 2012 Though Democrats are hammering Paul Ryan as the bringer of Medicare's doom, the Republican vice presidential candidate is far more popular among seniors than he's given credit for. Same goes for women. And independents. Surveys conducted shortly before Mitt Romney's VP roll-out show Ryan actually polls fairly well among all three of these groups. And while Democrats claim to be ecstatic at Romney's choice -- they say he's an easy target, and they've already gone to town portraying him as "extreme" -- the bookish lawmaker from Janesville, Wis., could end up bringing more votes to the ticket than he turns away. A recent Rasmussen poll showed that 31 percent of likely senior voters gave Ryan a "very favorable" rating, compared with 21 percent of all legal-age voters giving him that rating. Just 16 percent of seniors gave him a "very unfavorable" rating. So while Democrats are chipping away at Romney in Florida as the GOP candidate visits the Sunshine State on Monday, drawing attention to Ryan's controversial Medicare overhaul plan, polling suggests seniors might be at least amenable to the VP pick. Calculations about which voters Ryan could bring to the Republican ticket were certainly a factor in Romney's selection, and in any presidential candidate's choice in running mate. It's unclear who exactly the Ryan pick will resonate with, and who it will turn away, but Ryan doesn't appear to be starting off on the wrong foot with several key demographic groups. If Ryan can get the media to report facts (& not the lefts lies) regarding his proposal his presence on the ticket can only help. I wonder what public opinion would be if everyone knew BO raided $7 billion from Medicare to offset the expense of his own folly, Obamacare?
That would be the problem. There are next to no specifics in Ryan's budget. It's a little hard to point to facts that don't exist. You don't seem to have any problems with Right-wing media lies and you have actually quoted one here.
So, he passed increased taxes half the time? I take it he's not that interested in hunting with arrows.
I think you need to go back and read Joe's post again. It is kind of a long sentence. Maybe if you break it down you'll get it. I'll give you a hint to get you pointed in the right direction. Ryan is not a bishop and Joe wasn't saying that he was.
I keep looking for a Democrat budget that has passed anything. Funny, but I cannot find one. Think you might be able to help me?
I just hope he's not a pedophile. Now for the disclaimer. The above statement was not only POLITICALLY incorrect but RELIGIOUSLY as well. On the other hand it fits well with the many blatantly stupid comments laced with assininity that I read on this forum on a regular basis. I apologize for any veins popping out of heads etc.
The Dimocrat platform discussions have been kinda interesting too. Did you know, despite BO's promises, he hasn't offered any form of energy policy in the nearly 4 yrs he's been in office (at least according to the dims who were trying to devise one for the convention)? The Romney-Ryan one makes sense, though.
Do any of you remember Erskine Bowles? Well, Erskine Bowles was a fundraiser for Bill Clinton and served as Clinton's Chief of Staff where one of his major responsibilities was dealing with budget negotiations between the White House and Congress. In 2010, he was appointed as Democratic co-chair of Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform. Bowles is on the board of directors for GM and Morgan Stanley. Just for fun, let's see what Erskine Bowles has to say about Paul Ryan, shall we?
Do any of you remember Newt Gingrich? Well, Newt Gingrich was a 2012 Presidential candiate for the Republican Party and a former Speaker of the House during the Clinton Administration. In 2012, he was apparently so appauled by the Paul Ryan budget that he had this to say about it during an interview. Just for fun, let's see what Newt Gingrich has to say about Paul Ryan and his budget, shall we? This is fun Coin. We could do this all day I bet.
Maybe you haven't noticed but Newt is out there stumping for Romney on just about every channel I see these days. You had better care what he thinks because you are going to be seeing a lot of him. I haven't seen Erskine Bowles in recent memory but you found it OK to bring up an old video of him. Did you ever care what Erskine Bowles or Bill Clinton thought? Not bloody likely. Which face are you talking out of now?
You'll have to excuse him, he's all wrapped up in plans for the annual Erskine Bowles picnic this weekend. As the newest member of the fan club he's in charge of the jello salad. Lime with carrots, or strawberry with sour cream? Agonizing choice. Consistency in political posts is the last thing on his mind at the moment.
What? You mean the Vice Presidential candidate doesn't set the policy for the ticket? What the hell. When I saw Ryan picked, I thought: This Is A Big Deal! Now we are back to Romney making all the plans? Yawn. I don't think Ryan was ever picked to provide The Plan. I think the was picked to keep The Discussion on The Economy and The Budget/Debt all the way up to election day. The Republicans think that is the way they can win. And I tend to agree. Contrary to what many Democrats might think, I don't believe this election will be won on the slogan "It's The Medicare, Stupid".
