Phoenix boy, 14, shoots armed intruder while watching three younger siblings​

A 14-year-old Phoenix boy shot an intruder who broke into his home while brandishing a gun as the teenager watched his three younger siblings, police said.​

​

The teen and his brothers and sisters were at home alone at their residence at 55th Avenue and Baseline when a woman rang the doorbell Friday. The teen didn't open the door because he didn't recognize her, Police Officer James Holmes said Saturday.​

​

Soon after, the teen heard a bang on the door, rushed his siblings upstairs and got a handgun from his parent's bedroom. When he got to the top of the stairs, he saw a man breaking through the front door and point a gun at him.​

The boy shot the 37-year-old man, who is in critical condition but expected to survive and be booked into jail.​

Holmes said the suspect did not get a shot off. He declined to release his name until he is booked into jail.​

The woman who rang the home's doorbell got away.​

Holmes hailed the teen's actions and his parents for teaching the kids to never open the door to strangers.​

​

"The police and indeed our community does not ever want to see a situation where a teenager of that age has to take a weapon to protect his family ... but this young man did exactly what he should have done," he said. "I'm not sure he gave full thought about what he had to do. He just acted."​

Holmes said that the gun the teen grabbed was his father's, but did not know whether the boy had been trained to use it.​

He said the family, whose names were not released, is declining to speak to reporters about the ordeal, saying that they "are all pretty traumatized."​

​

"The dad was pretty much out of his mind with distress, officers couldn't even talk to him," Holmes said. "It's going to take them a while to recover mentally."​

​

He said police don't yet know what the suspect's intentions were and that will be one of the first questions they ask him when he is well enough to talk.​

​

"This was mid-block in a neighborhood, at 4:30 in the afternoon in summertime and children are there," he said. "They just took a heck of a gamble for this particular house, and we've got to try to figure out why."​

Holmes added that the family is lucky that the teen acted so swiftly and effectively.​

​

"As ugly as this is, and as much as this family is going through, we don't have injured children on our hands," he said.​

Yes, we all heard about the boy in Phoenix and yes, thats a few miles away from me, but Phoenix non the less. With the drug cartels and gangbangers moving closer and closer to the nice suburb I live in, I am well fortified.

California fast-food worker suspected of stabbing customer

June 23, 2012​

Hemet, Calif. – Authorities say an employee at a fast-food drive-thru window in Southern California stabbed a customer after a dispute over his order.​

​

A Riverside County sheriff's statement Friday said the man complained about his order to 28-year-old Gabriel Villalba, who worked at Del Taco in Hemet, shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday.​

​

The statement says the confrontation escalated until Villalba stabbed the customer in the abdomen with a knife.​

The customer, whose name was not released, was driven to the hospital by friends. His injury is serious but not considered fatal.​

​

Villalba was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and is being held on $25,000 bail.​

Deputies did not know if he had hired an attorney and there were no local phone listings in Villalba's name.​

Jack, with that piece of artillery you should be able to handle just about any gang member who might try to invade your home. Congrats... it's extremely nice.

 

Whats nice about it is with the lazer sight, you dont need to aim it like a normal weapon. You can actualy shoot from the hip. Lazers have become so accurate, you can shoot the same hole all day with an AR-15 ( I have 2- 1 for each, my wife and I ) or spray a crowd of intruders.

The only problem I see with this particular gun or others like it is the ability to reload fast. With an AR style gun, you use your left hand to snug the gun to your shoulder while the stong hand ejects the magazine and grabs the new full one. This gun is kinda short and I cant get a reload in under 5 seconds yet. I can reload an AR in 2. Practice.........or, have a 100 round drum Still practice with the 30 rounders tho as the 100 is heavy.
Advantages, with the short 10" barrel and lack of a stock, you can snug this weapon to your body at waist level and navigate hallways, closets, etc etc. I practice most of my tactical stuff at less than a 30 foot distance, the longest shot there is in my and my wifes houses.

AND, thank you very much !!!!! YEs, it is a very nice piece of protection to have around.

Great post, Sums up alot of things there.
1. Older fellow standing up to evil whereas younger gent got his hands up pretty quick.
2. The armed robbers were wearing hoddies.
3. The whole thing was filmed yet I do not think it was shown on TV especially by Rachael Maddow, Ed Shultz, and company.

 

We may be in a zombie apocalyse mode with the brain dead west and brain washed north africa and middle east being the next generation to take over the world.
