Not a suprise.......except to the leftys http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/jun/18/gun-ownership-up-crime-down/
This is my newest. THE DIRTY HARRY. S&W Model 29, 8 3/8" barrel blue finish, .44 Magnum, the exact same gun used in the movie. I put it next to some coins and one of my Colt Gold Cup .45 semi's for size comparison. This thing is a freakin cannon http://www.flickr.com/photos/80485479@N04/7376656018/in/photostream Cannot seem to post a direct picture here, thus he link. Guns hold and maintain value right up there with gold and silver. It is an excellent store of value. Just another precious metal, but one you can enjoy and shoot. This is not a personal defense weapon as it will go thru house walls and possibly endanger others. Too heavy and large to carry, so it is " Safe Candy"......
Nice. I've been buying Umberti replicas lately...pretty cheap & a lot of fun to shoot. My favorite is an 1873 Colt 45.
I have absolutely no problem with people owning guns and never have. I don't care for them personally yet I own one. It's an old prison "riot gun". It is for home protection and I hope I never have to use it but believe me I WILL if I have to.
Umberti makes some nice " Old West " guns.....I really like their Single Action Armys......, but, I prefer to buy the real thing. Sorta like a coin collection.......would you collect replicas? I am glad that you have an interest in firearms, keep it up.
That is the beauty of freedom. You can choose to arm yourself or you can decline. I kinda know you Dan and know that you live in reality and understand you need protection. I hope you never have to use it. I on the otherhand have a CCW, as does my wife, and we believe in being prepared in any situation. I pray that I never have to pull the trigger except at the range while target shooting, or out in the desert plinking cans with a .22
LOL, I know you commented on my Dirty Harry movie marathon thread on FB. I told ya, I told ya, there was a S&W #29 in my near future
I own several Glocks, but my favorite gun would have to be my S&W Model 66 revolver that I keep loaded with hollow points at all times. I too would hate to have to shoot a person, but if I'm defending my life or my family's, I intend (and hope) to do it in one shot. Thank the Constitution for securing our right to bear arms. De Orc, I wish your government secured that right for you in the UK. My state just passed an "Open Carry" law and I intend to take full advantage of it once it's implemented.
Florida became a much safer state when it implemented the stand your ground law whereas gun owners could shoot home invasioners, (usually were illegals to boot that were doing the breakins, rapes, stealing and killin), and the automatic do a crime with a gun and get automatic additional jail time. Think it is ten years, someone else could google it if they have a problem with this post.
Jack, and yet we have this.... Who to believe? The Washington Times or the Washington Times? Violent crime in D.C. surges in 2012 Internal police data show citywide problem Violent crime so far this year in the District has spiked sharply — a 40 percent increase that includes twice as many robberies at gunpoint than at this time last year. Across the city, all police districts are reporting increases in violent crime, and all but one have had double-digit percentage increases, according to internal Metropolitan Police Department documents. The documents contained preliminary crime data for the city as of Thursday. The crime rate is increasing this year after a downward trend — the number of reported homicides last year dropped to the lowest level in a half-century. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/feb/19/violent-crime-dc-surges-2012/
Carrying a concealed handgun in public is permitted for non-law enforcement officials in 49 states as of July 13, 2011. Washington, DC does not allow concealed carry except by active and retired law enforcement officers.
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57457366/gun-dealer-linked-to-3-mass-shootings-closes/ Gun dealer linked to 3 mass shootings closes This April 19, 2007 file photo shows Eric Thompson, a Wisconsin online weapons dealer who sold guns or accessories to the killers in the Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois University mass shootings as well as a man who opened fire at a Pennsylvania health club. (AP) MADISON, Wis. - An online weapons dealer who sold the handgun used in the Virginia Tech massacre and provided equipment in two other mass shootings has quietly closed up shop amid a flurry of complaints from customers who allege he failed to deliver orders after billing them. Police say Eric Thompson last month abruptly closed his Green Bay, Wis.-based business, TGSCOM Inc., as they probed scores of complaints from customers in nearly every state. TGSCOM's connections to three mass shootings have drawn national attention in recent years. Seung-Hui Cho used a .22-caliber handgun purchased through TGSCOM when he killed 32 people at Virginia Tech in April 2007. Stephen Kazmierck, who killed five people in a Northern Illinois University classroom in 2008, bought two empty magazines and a holster through a company site. George Sodini, who killed three women when he opened fire at a Pittsburgh-area health club in 2009, bought an empty magazine and a magazine loading apparatus from the company. Thompson, who has claimed his company generates millions of dollars, has maintained he's not responsible for how people use guns, but he still has had run-ins with federal regulators and now he has dozens of people across the country angry with him.
We could also examine the city of Chicago, IL which is notoriously anti-Constitutional when it comes to an individual's Second Amendment rights (just why is Chicago so anti-Constitutional by the way?). Chicago has a Crime Rating of 6 (out of 100). 100 is the best. Let's compare Chicago's crime rate with the rest of the nation: PER 1000 RESIDENTS - MURDER: CHICAGO: 0.16 U.S.: 0.05 - ROBBERY: CHICAGO: 5.28 U.S.: 1.19 - ASSAULT CHICAGO: 5.10 U.S.: 2.52 Now, as with any statistics, one can read anything into them they want. However, keep in mind that the U.S. as a whole is progressively moving to a pro-Constitutional stance of securing an individual's right to bear arms. Data indicates that crime rates, in general, across the nation are dropping. To anyone not blinded by old-fashioned notions that a society can live in utopian harmony or anyone not fooled by leftist political dogma, the correlation is unmistakeable. The conclusion to this indicates that a well-armed society is a safer society. I think I'll take my chances in the rest of the pro-gun Union and won't be visiting Chicago anytime in the near future, thank you very much.
Gee, I think you're making may case against guns. Thanks. BTW Chicago couldn't care less if some redneck southern A-hole visits or not.
I understand, Chicago has way too many homegrown varieties of the aforementioned "A-holes" already. Quite violent ones too, I might add.
This is my newest, traded $100 face of US 90% for it and a bunch of magazines and a red dot lazer sight. Factory pic, I'l take pics of my actual gun on Monday. Yes, this is classified as a pistol. Sig Sauer, made in America in NH, it fires NATO 5.56 x 45 semiautomatic. Bring on the zombies !!!! ( or the gangbangers that have infiltrated my neighborhood, thats the REAL reason I got such a weapon ) http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductDetails/p556-swat.aspx
Jack, that's awesome! I had a Sig handgun once, but it was nothing like that! It was a very nice firearm and I still regret trading it.
Short response> Sweet. Longer response> Funny how something so brutal can yet come across as art. Must be the hunter/warrior that is programed in our DNA.
